Guy at station refused to honor the CA state law for people with medical conditions to use the restroom . I am a retired guy in my late 70's, with cancer. I had to go, almost wet myself. Ca law states that businesses allow persons to use employee restrooms if needed, Bill 1632 AB [Jan 1,2023],and have the Restroom Access wallet card from their local doctor. Person does have to be a customer. CDPH and CA ADA have jurisdiction of this law, and there is a $100 violation civil penalty possible. People with medical conditions don't always have public restrooms available, including women with small children . I am not homeless, living on the streets, but a retired respectable man. We stopped in to get diesel. The pump would not take the card. So went into the office part of it and ask the guy to turn the pump on and hold our card as we did not know how much diesel the machine would take and the person so I need an amount $100 or $200. Then we asked if the other machine would take our card to which the person said yes. Well folks, sorry to tell ya but the machine wouldn't take the card and the gas station also perauthorized $100 plus dollars anyway. read more

I attempted to use the SHELL station across the street from this location so that my 2 1/2 year old great niece did not pee-pee her pants (after a 2 hour car ride on November 20, 2020). The loser cashier told me they don't allow customers to use their restroom, but I could go across the street to Chevron. I looked at this schmuck and responded, "seriously, your gonna let her pee her pants"... he loudly sighed then said, "FINE.... but your gonna have to wait a few minutes"... So I apologized for the major inconvenience and promptly vacated the LOUSY gas station and drove across the highway to Chevron. The lady at Chevron was super pleasant and without hesitation allowed me to RUN my great niece into use the restroom. Given this was an EMERGENCY potty break, neither myself nor my great niece wore our "state mandated face coverings", but the lady cashier gave us absolutely NO grief. I will NEVER purchase gasoline or anything else from SHELL (500 State Highway 49, Sutter Creek) after this deplorable customer service. After coming back to my home town, I looked the SHELL station up and see they list having a toilet available under "service and amenities". One star only because I have to. I never thought I'd have to Yelp a gas station, but they definitely earned this one. I stopped to fill up my 5 gal fuel container on the way back up the hill. Our powere was down and we needed to run our generator. I get done, put the gas container in the back of my truck and go to leave. Some person named Katie comes out the door like a raging bull telling me that she saw me put ice in my truck. I said no I just purchased fuel, she said she saw me stealing ice and she knows what she saw. We were on our way back from a grocery shopping trip and had bought ice, so I'm guessing she saw the ice and assumed it was from their ice cabinets. I held up the bag to show her the brand, as I assumed (correctly I might add) that they carry a different brand. She said whatever, I know what I saw, and walked back in. My wife was mad, went inside to show her the receipt from our grocery trip with the ice listed, and katie called my wife a bunch 9f names and told us never to come back. Oh well, it was our only trip there, and we will take Katie's advice and not come back as katie seems a little unstable. read more

Clean bathrooms + decent priced gas + snacks

This is a regular gas station, but the reason they get 5 stars is that they are capable of providing a bit of customer service and RESTROOMS unlike the Shell station across the street. The Shell station will only allow "locals only" to use the restroom. Let's think about this, if you are a local you are probably going to wait until you get home to do what you need to do versus using a gas station restroom! read more

They need to replace their nozzles they are all missing the clip to hold. Because it's the higher priced gas station it should be maintained better. read more

Was quoted a price for tires over the phone. Went in to have them put on. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Asked questions directly to the staff, had them make eye contact to acknowledge that I was speaking to them, then ignore my questions and walk away without a word or reply. Never given an estimated time of completion. Tech constantly left in the middle of putting my tires on to deal with someone else. This place is obviously understaffed. A 10-15 minute job of putting two tires on turned into an hour an a half, with no one apologizing for the wait or acknowledging my presence. I was never even informed when the work was done, though they were aware I was waiting nearby. The tech just walked away to do another job. I had to find him and ask if it was ready. Then I get extra work tacked into the bill that was never discussed or agreed upon ahead of time. When I questioned this, Jack, the owner, walked up and instead of making things right, rudely ordered the tech to undo the work he had done and remove the parts that should have been included. They've lost my business forever and the business of everyone I know. If it's going to be more than agreed upon, you discuss it with the customer PRIOR to doing the work, instead of being rude to the customer when they question extra fees that were not a part of the original quote. This is exactly why so many automotive places have a bad reputation. If I could give less than one star, I would. read more
