Chairs for the kids to study. I always get books here for my pre K students.

I'm giving chevy chase neighborhood library 5 stars. They truly deserve it! I always find interesting books here for my pre-k students. This place is always clean, bookshelves well organized and they always have the books you need. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Best old school library in town. Friendly and helpful staff. If you want to do more than play on the computers all day, this is a fine library. The online databases are phenomenal. The Reading Garden Out back is great and so is the FOLio book store open on Saturdays..

The Pros: I like the fact that this library is located right next to the metro station. It's also…read morea very modern facility, and nearly half of the second level is dedicated for desktop computer work stations. They have private study rooms that can be reserved by residents. I'm not clear if there is a cost associated with that, because I haven't yet tried to reserve a space. It's also more quiet on the second level compared with the first level which is geared more towards children. The Cons: The library is small, and I could not find a desk when I got there. I've been to two other libraries in the city which provide significantly more space. With no available empty table, I sat at a computer work station desk and tried to navigate space for my laptop.

I love libraries. The Tenleytown public library is among the many where I have ducked in for an…read morehour between business appointments. It works well for that purpose. Although some are critical of the vibe here, I cannot say I have found, on three visits, that is inferior to others in the system, or even discernibly different. I tend to select my retreat based on location, whatever is convenient to the last meeting or the next meeting. I would not criticize this venue. The city must have started a giant renovation project. So many of the branches have bright, well designed, tasteful furnished renovations. It does get a bit hot here. On the scale of concerns, with looming catastrophe from climate change, that hardly ranks as more than a quibble.

This is a review of public access to DHS, not the way DHS accomplishes its mission…read more I took a taxi from downtown DC to an appointment at DHS. The taxi driver had never been there before and didn't know the procedures to drop off a passenger. It sure didn't help when the guard started shouting at the taxi driver instead of calmly explaining what he wanted him to do. Once inside the visitor processing office, the folks were relatively easy going and pleasant. Note: American University Park is not a part of DC where taxis cruise the streets, especially on rainy days. After the meeting, I finally walked to Massachusetts Avenue where after another five minutes a taxi picked up this wet passenger.

To be clear this is a review of the facility and parking and not a review of how DHS does business…read more I came here a couple of times for meetings with my GOVT customer. Since I am a Defense Contractor I have to get a badge and go through their security. I must say they are very polite and efficient. They get you screened and badged up rather quickly. The issue with this location in parking. They do not have visitor parking and there is not even enough parking for those who work daily in the facility which has several BLDG's. I have had to circle around for over 10 minutes hoping for an open spot on the road in front of the facility both times I have came here. I will now add 30 minutes onto my schedule to allow for me to find parking when I come here. The facility is made up of a hodge podge of BLDG's that are in OK shape. Since DHS is a fairly young entity the BLDG's were renovated when they took them over. I don't mid coming here except for the parking issues. I guess you could Uber here but it is kinda of out of the way from hotels and would be expensive. I didn't see any taxis around either.

I never got a job related to my degree and the school did not do anything to help me get a job. Their Career Center is useless. I have never known anyone who got a paying job through the American University Career Center. The Professors I had were also useless. Many of them teach directly from antiquated text books. They do not teach you any technology of any kind and they never taught us any programs that you would need to know for employment purposes. You take an Economics class and they do not teach you how to use econometric software programs. Their curriculum is something out of the 1960s. This school has had several large scandals over the years with school Presidents. Google Richard Berendzen and you can read about his disgusting behavior. The school would not fire him. He was allowed to keep his job as a professor at the school. Also Google Benjamin Ladner. He was another school President.

The line was long today, but I had a good podcast and wasn't in a hurry. Thing is though, with 3 or 4 people in front of me and 2 working on other packages inside , it could've helped to briefly have a second attendant. When I talked to her she was very cordial. Also, it's always dark in there and it looks closed when you walk by. Inside the door that looks like it's for passport appointments is falling apart and the stand of packaging supplies seems to be blocking a good number of P.O. Boxes. The interior needs a makeover badly. Basically, it's a good post office, they just need to take down the plexiglass wall they put in during COVID and do some little renovations. There's money here in Cleveland park.

The instructions on the wall she points to are inadequate, especially if your eyesight isn't perfect.
