The Rec Center: Overall, I liked the layout of the rec center, and the folks that helped with getting a card were SUPER friendly and helpful. While I have not officially used the rec center, I was a bit disappointed with the the size of the weight room. The size of the weight room reminds of a weight room that one would find in a hotel. However, the gym did look like it had everything that one would need for a decent workout. Also, I was a bit surprised that the rec center does not open until 9 am on weekdays (and Saturday). Based on my prior rec center experiments, I'm used to rec centers opening from 5:30 to 7 am. Then again, perhaps, these hours are for the summer months. The Library: Again, the librarian who signed me up for a card was very friendly. Also, I loved how she gave me a very thorough overview of this branch's services and resources. Although I was in the library for only a few minutes, I thought it was very well organized.

This was our first time here and I did not know that this was more than just a library. Well first of all the library was great and my daughter was quite excited to read one of her favorite books to me. Which means those books with waiting lists sometimes will be there. I bypassed that 4 week waiting period. I came initially to use one of their conference rooms. Which is huge and spacious. They have a discovery room which is a huge sensory play area that I use to take my littles that they absolutely loved. Teachers can also reserve the room during the week for a hour. However use caution. Idk if those toys are sanitized. So make sure your littles dont put it in their mouth. Lots of computers to use, or bring your own laptop. Wifi is good. However their printing is expensive... .15 cents for regular and i think .99 cents for color. They also have classes, especially if you wanna learn how to knit, or play mahjong. They also have reading time for the littles.

The variety of books and media are extensive. I especially love some of the newly released books that they have at all of the libraries. We recently went to the Point of Rocks library to use the Memory Lab (which is a very nice service that the library offers) to use the equipment and digitize some videos. The librarians and the volunteer who helped us went above and beyond to make sure that everything worked well. We really appreciate everything that FCPL has to offer!!

They also now have a free jigsaw puzzle swap shelf. The lower level has rooms to rent. My local jigsaw puzzle swap group does a large swap in one of those rooms from time to time. It is within walking distance of my home, but there is always a place to park. It is in a strip mall so other shopping can be done on a visit to this library. There is also Little Free Library within a block of Twinbrook Library. It is a treasure for the Twinbrook Community and well loved by all of us.

This is definitely a great addition to the community. Let's start with the downs so we can end of a positive note. This library is very small compared to other Montgomery county libraries. There's only a handful of computers avalible to guests to access the Internet. This library also hasn't received an upgrade in what appears to be forever. The lack of outlets and overall lack space really effect the vibe. Copies are .15¢ for black and white while color is $1 per sheet- kind of intense. Now the positives- the staff here are super friendly and there are plenty to help if needed. The space offers classes throughout the week for several different audiences. Due to it being a smaller library it's very quiet and there's almost always a table. WiFi is easy to connect to and is reliable. Large parking lot and two Pokestops.... yup it's 2019 and I'm still playing Pokémon Go.

I had been purchasing books online through thrift retailers, but a friend suggested borrowing them from the library instead to save money. After browsing the library's website, I was pleasantly surprised to find a wide selection of newly released memoirs available. I'm now saving a significant amount, and the three-week borrowing period is generous--especially with the option to renew if there are no holds. The library itself is spacious, bright, and very welcoming. While I haven't fully explored it yet, it appears to have dedicated areas for children and teens. In addition to books, I noticed they offer DVDs and have far more computers than I remember from the library I used to visit in Montgomery County decades ago. The staff I interacted with while setting up my library account and locating newly released memoirs were both knowledgeable and friendly, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I also appreciate the convenient exterior features, including a book drop located right out front and a parking lot with an awning that provides coverage for cars. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with what this library has to offer and the welcoming service I've received so far.
