I have to admit, the waiting room needs some definite updating and I initially thought I should run but I'm so happy I didn't. Every staff member was so warm and welcoming. Knowledgeable, caring and personable. It took a total of 70 minutes. From the time I went back for prep to the time I was DC'd. Outstanding teamwork to make things run the way they did. I had an upper endoscopy this morning there with Dr. Solomon. I was recommended to arrival hour before my procedure time but I can and hour and ten early, immediately after signing in I was pulled back, immediately they did vitals and began sedating me about 10 minutes later, I really appreciated the quick service. The nurses weren't very talkative but however were very polite and careful, the anesthesiologist was amazing and very descriptive with everything happening and everyone tried to make me feel comfortable! I had a Upper Endoscopy at the Center. The Receptionist and the Nurses were horrible! They had NO translators who could help with Spanish speaking Patients. The Nurses were Non friendly, No compassionate! Didn't smile or greet you or tell you their name or what they were going to do to you. It was a cold environment. Non hospitality! The communication here is terrible! My mom had surgery today and they said it would be 3-4 hours and they'd call me 20 min before pickup. It took 1.5 hours and they TEXTED me TEN minutes before! I rushed down, she wasn't in the hallway like they said she'd be, there wasn't anyone at the front desk, a nurse finally called me, yelled, "Where are you??" I said, "I'm here!" She laughed and said, "what does that mean?" She finally appears in the hallway and with attitude says, "where's your car?" I'm confused because they never gave me instructions on where to park my car! I have to bring my car around to the side of the building where there was construction so that the nurse could easily bring her wheelchair down the ramp! That "nurse" was so rude and unprofessional! It was also a super busy and chaotic office, never go there if you can help it! read more

Went for a colonoscopy by Dr Edgar Mehdikhani. Plenty of parking and staff nice at check in. The worst part is the waiting. I got there before the time they told me and then waited 45 minutes to go in. Staff very nice and prepped me. Then waited another 30 minutes. But staff nice and checked on me. The procedure went fast. Dr. Said Hi before and then I was out. Facility clean and staff on top of it and friendly. I would recommend. read more

FORGOT THEY HAD A PATIENT After arriving an hour early to my father's appointment and hour to get into a room- the doctor (MORDECAI SOLOMON) decided to leave without letting my father know. The nurses were rude and told my father that he had complained (BECAUSE HE WAS IN THE WAITING ROOM FOR AN EXTRA HOUR) Suggested he should go home and reschedule. Embarrassing and disgusting. I recently had eye surgery at this facility. I went in very nervous but ALL the staff helped me and did everything they could to explain what was going to take place and walked me through the whole process and set me at ease. Dr. Patel is an amazing doctor. He was very gentle and kind. He also set my mind at ease and explained the procedure as he went along. I am scheduled to have the other eye worked on next month. It's been 7 days since I had a procedure at Chevy Chase surgery center and my hand is still severally bruised from the IV. Ive never had a bruise this bad from an IV, I still can not close my hand without pain. If you're nervous about the nurse who's supposed to IV you, ask for a different one. I wish I had! I'm including a picture of my bruised hand from four days and from 7 days post. The staff was doing the best they could, but it's obvious that there are a lot of underlying issues with this facility. Two nurses complained about their back pain to me bc I have degenerative disc disease- normal back pain is not the same as what I suffer from. This is my 2nd procedure at Chevy Chase and there will not be a third. Avoid this place if at all possible. Ask your insurance what other facilities are available. *side note- the first two sheets they brought to cover me up with both had crusty stains on them. Literally crumbling mystery stains. When I asked for new sheets bc mine were dirty, the nurse said "no they're not" before even looking. It's always great to be disrespected right before a medical procedure! read more

Terrible! And I haven't even met the doctor yet. Got there a few minutes before my scheduled appointment, have been waiting over an hour. Just went back up to the front desk and was told the doctor is finishing a procedure, will do someone else after that, and I should be seen by 11:40---my appointment was at 10am. Everyone of the 20 or 30 people waiting look like and I hear are having the same experience. This is the definition of a mill. Hopefully, sufficient time and caution is taken doing the procedures, as it seems like the focus is on making money, with total lack of respect for patients' time. Find a different place! I was scheduled for a colonoscopy for this morning with Dr Mehdi Khorsandi (he is amazing and will write a review on his yelp site) and was terrified when I read the reviews. I needed this done because I have a my mom and her mlm (my grandma who passed on from colon cancer) I almost cancelled the appointment but I wanted to follow my gut (no pun intended lol) but so over the moon I didn't. I was shaking and full of anxiety waiting to go back to prep and the procedure. I have to say this team (sorry I don't remember any names of all the great team. But they all outstanding from the gal at the sweet gal who checked me in, the front desk gal, to nurse who out my IV in (I have had horrible experiences with this easy process) But she started and I was waiting for an issue but nope. Not even a pinch. The anesthesiologist was fabulous and put me at ease. Especially after getting my nite nite medication. Lol and the fabulous woman who was with me during recovery. It was my own fear and anxiety that was bad after reading the reviews. It was a great experience from start to finish. And getting a colonoscopy you feel so vulnerable and I was embarrassed just because of the whole... well you know if you've had one before. Lol So all I can say is Thank You all at the Chevy Chase Surgery Center for being so kind and putting my fear and anxiety at ease. All I can say is if you have an early appointment get there early. The earlier your the there the first you be taken. But this has nothing to do with the staff at all. Again!!! Thank You CCSC!!! My Ophthalmologist selected this facility. otherwise I would have never stepped foot inside. I have gone to SPA's that spend more money than they do on not only amenities but also appearance. It looks like its in a random shopping mall although its definitely not inviting. Starting off with my arrival back in August- it was terrifying. The beds are lined up next to each other so you're in an open space while they prep you. I was on my period and they insisted I take a urine test to prove I wasn't pregnant even though I had communicated that I have been celibate for a few years. When the procedure was done, they injected my iv with whatever brings you out of anesthetics and instead of allowing me some time to gain consciousness they handed me my phone and asked me to call my uber /lyft. I was given grape juice vs. oj upon waking up which made me even more nauseous. I mean truly the worst experience ever AND I had to have emergency surgery in a foreign country at the age of 23 and it was still better than here. Cut to present day: I have been trying to get a hold of them for payment for 2 months now. I owe $236. First- you can only call them. (2) They rarely answer the phones and you have to leave a VM if you want anyone to know you have been trying. Its 2020 just answer your phone and or hire a calling service the procedure you're charging me for is $7,170 and it was less than 2 hours so I am sure you can afford help. Either way, there is no way to reach out via email so no way to track that you have reached out to them. There is no website and there is no way to pay except for putting your cc information on a sheet of paper and mail it back to them... Security at all important to you? No. I would say the same the 1 star reviews have said. Really don't get any procedure done here if you can help it. Good luck read more

I've had two cataract surgeries performed by my wonderful, genius, ophthalmologist, Dr. Hamparian at this surgery center. Everyone here is professional, competent, courteous and understanding. If your surgeon uses this surgical center and the team here for his or her procedures, consider yourself lucky. I didn't get the names of all the people who helped me, but here are a few I'd like to thank: Alvina (my pre-op nurse), Emma (OR nurse), Frida (nurse), Anoush (nurse aid) (I apologize to anyone I missed - you were all great.) I understand that this surgery center preps dozens and dozens of patients a day but geez! They brusquely go about their business, not telling you what they are doing or about to do, they continually administer eye drops without a word, sometimes startling me as I lay with my eyes closed against the fluorescent lights. In the operating room another swarm of people pull the pillow out from under your head and tape your head to the table without warning. I'm assuming their medical care is alright or my ophthalmic surgeon wouldn't send her patients there, but an "I'm back" before suddenly prying my eye open, or an "I need to remove this pillow" would sure be appreciated! I was even given a post-op instruction sheet that contradicted my doctor's orders. My driver had to call the doctor's office to receive confirmation that we should ignore the post-op instructions. I have another surgery (other eye) coming up this week, at least now I know what to expect!!. read more

This surgery center was the worst medical office I have ever visited. They were crowded with so many patients trying to check in that you were forced to wait outside of the office in a crowded hallway. Appointments were 2 hours late. We actually stood in the hallway for two hours since the waiting room was full before we were called in for our appointment. It then took another two hours to complete a simple 10 minute procedure due to the over booking of patients. All this in the middle of the covid pandemic. This place is horrible. You can tell that they don't care at all about the well being of their patients. The only thing that matters to them is the patients money. They made me pay for my procedure in full and then they took over a month to submit the claim. Since they took so long to submit the claim, they then got paid by my insurance as well. They were very quick about cashing both my check and my insurance company's check, but they are taking their sweet time when it comes to refunding me the money. On top of their crappy billing procedures, the facility itself is horrible and outdated. You should seriously look elsewhere if you need to have an outpatient surgery. read more

The date is November 14th, 2012 and I can't believe any (bad) reviews haven't been written...After arriving at 6:40 am I was hit up for the deductable that I'd paid the week before to my surgeon's office...The last thing a patient going in for surgery needs is demand for a deductable that was already paid. I just had a procedure here today at the Surgery Center (#106,) I didn't choose this surgery center, it is the one the doctor I wanted to go uses and I'm so glad he does. The nurses were so friendly and professional. My procedure was scheduled for 10am but because the patient before me took longer than expected, I couldn't be operated on until 1:30PM (it wasn't anyone's fault, that's just the way medical things go sometimes) but the nurses kept coming by to check me and to make sure I was comfortable and okay. I felt very cared for and like I was in good hands. The facility itself is fine, nothing fancy but certainly not dated at all in my opinion and the care I received here trumps any fancy clinic, 100%.
