I had a sinus procedure earlier this month, and will admit my experience was decent. The only things that I did not like were the following: 1. I was told to check-in for my procedure at 7am with my procedure being at 9am. When I arrive at HASC, there was no receptionist at the registration desk to check me in. I and a few other patients had to wait for like 30 minutes for a receptionist to show up. The Pre-Op nurses called me around 7:27am asking if I was running late in which the receptionist, Rosie, just arrived. I told them there was no one at the desk to check me or others in when I arrived and that she is now backed up. I don't know if she was on break, in the restroom, started later, or whatever the situation was I found it very unprofessional. From someone who has worked in healthcare, there should always be someone manning the front desk at all times; when I worked we always had someone to cover. 2. I and my mother felt the PACU nurse, Wafaa, bedside manner could have been better as she was very blunt and seemed stressed. I don't recall my surgeon visiting me in PACU but I was probably still under anesthesia. 3. For me being at 6'1"-6'2", the gurneys were too short to the point where I can feel I was sliding down. I bring this up more as a patient safety concern and understand that each facility differs with its resources but that shouldn't mean anything that compromises patient safety. To add to patient safety, I don't recall a timeout being performed in the OR but idk if I can't remember due to the anesthesia. 4. I was told that I would be getting a Post-Op call the next day but never got one. I had to call today to speak with a nurse regarding my Post-Op recovery (which is going well). Other than these, my procedure went very well. My pain was brief. The rest of the staff were very nice and helpful; I got a ton of Post-Op supplies to help me in my recovery. I would definitely go back to HASC for outpatient procedures and hope that these areas improve for patient safety, efficiency, and comfort. read more

Up sides. The staff and doctors are AMAZING. Had zero issues with my back procedure In Nov 2025 Down sides. I was there for 3 hours for a 15-20 minute procedure. I had an IV stuck in my arm. See below. Paid for 3+ hours of parking Jan 2026 I had a similar procedure at an Arcadia surgery center. I was there for 30 mins total. So much less anxiety. No IV. I asked and the nurse said there is no need with this procedure. Parking was free. They even had a dedicated pick up area for sedated patients. read more

I brought my wife here twice in the last 5 weeks for cataract surgery on each eye. Our experience with checking in at 5:30am was extremely pleasant. The woman who checked in my wife and completed her registration paperwork was efficient, cordial and professional. Both times, I was present and I was impressed by her ability to handle all the paperwork. My wife's experience was equally pleasant once she was taken back to be prepare for her surgeries. The nursing staff members treated her with care when she was stressed about having this important surgery. After both surgeries, she related to me how comfortable they made her feel before, during and after the surgeries. This was extremely important for her peace of mind. I interacted with staff on the phone when she was ready to be released and they were very efficient and cordial in coordinating where she would be wheeled out to our vehicle. Any surgery can be stressful and as I write this, I remember having been at this same surgery center about 7 years ago for a hernia repair surgery. That experience so many years ago was just as pleasant for me as it was for my wife. We are both thankful and grateful that our physicians use this surgery center for our health and well-being. read more

I'm really sorry to read that others have had poor experiences here. I have been once and found the service to be very organized and thorough. I received the majority of the paperwork beforehand on their app which saved time at the location and allowed me to look up details located in files at home. The person who checked me in the day-of surgery was friendly and efficient. I especially appreciate the professional, detail-oriented and kind care of my nurses--Jerry, Karen, Shannon and Lilit. Honor the good nurses. Gerald allowed me to get the IV last which helped. He also fitted me with leg pumps to try to prevent blood clots and told me how I could use it at home later. Dr. Hutchinson listened to my concerns, addressed them and sent me home alive. I'm not sure how Dr. Park performed in the OR, since I was out, but she did listen and patiently answer my questions before I was rolled in. I assume she was as professional and did a good job. One nurse, specifically, told me she was a good doctor and that she would feel comfortable with her, herself. The space was not crowded and was oddly calm and quiet which was lovely, considering. I had the afternoon shift--I did hear the a.m. louder with many children. Maybe I was just lucky. Everything appeared clean and the process was explained to me clearly and flowed well. All but one person was friendly--and I probably asked about 10 people a couple questions. My calls were answered promptly. My only issue was that days prior, they overshot how long before I'd be ready for a ride--the day-of estimate was about 2.5 hours earlier than they told me on the phone. I wish they handled more procedures at this location--it was a much preferable experience to hospital surgeries (as well as my visit to another surgery center). I thought that for my lipoma removal surgery that the care I received from start to finish was perfect! I will name a couple of the nurses that stood out to me including Lillit and Dora, but everyone was very caring and kind. Do NOT take any young children here. I have been waiting to write this in the hope that my anger would dissipate. It has not. My three-year-old son came in to have ear tubes put in and his adenoids reduced. It was his first surgery; his first time under anesthesia. We prepared with videos and puppet shows, and he was not too scared. The initial intake nurses were very nice. They were kind to my son, and we were both promised that when he woke up, I would be sitting next to his bed. Then enter the surgery nurse. I understand that her skills in surgery are going to be much more important than her bedside manner. but holy crap. We asked if my son would get the special medicine (anesthesia) while I was there or in the surgery room without me. I wanted to make sure he was fully prepared. Rather than answering the simple question clearly, the surgery nurse started expounding upon how incredibly dangerous and life-threatening anesthesia is. It took me a while to figure out that she was defending giving him anesthesia in the surgery room. Of course, there was no need for that defense and no need to terrify a three-year-old. My son, now looking incredibly confused and scared turned to me with tears in his eyes and I told him the nurse was trying to say that it's going to be in the surgery room but it's going to be just like we talked about and everything's going to be fine. The surgery went well. Thank goodness. His doctor came out to talk to me and told me everything was great and they would be calling me back soon. So they had plenty of time to get me. They did not. About 25 minutes later, a very young nurse came out and said, confusion in her voice, "He woke up and he really wants you.". As I was following her back, I said, I'm sure he's scared because we were told that I would be there when he woke up. The nurse said " Oh, well, we're getting you now.". My son was screaming at the top of his lungs thrashing around on the bed screaming "mama, mama mama"over and over again. Another nurse was standing near his bedside, looking scared, and confused, saying "he's going to take out his IV.". I grabbed him and held him while he cried. He did not stop crying and screaming for over an hour. I repeated that they had told us I would be there when he woke up. The nurse standing near the bed, said "I don't know who told you that." He still has nightmares of waking up in pain without me being there. He has become terrified of going to any doctor. This center has absolutely no experience with young kids. And if they do, they are not learning from it. You do not tell the three-year-old that he might die. You just say "the special medicine will be in the room with me and the doctor". You do not tell a three-year-old that his mom will be there when he wakes up and then not get her. There was absolutely no reason for this trauma to occur. I am incredibly thankful that the surgery went well. The tubes went well. The adenoids went well. The doctor did a wonderful job. But the surgery center should not be working with kids. read more

We were told to be here at 7:15am. Apparently, EVERYONE is told to be there at 7:15am regardless of when your surgery is actually scheduled. So if you plan to be out of there within a few hours, that may not be the case. If you are the one that is driving the patient home, pack a lunch as it may be a long day! My plan is 1K deductible and 3K out of pocket. They tried to collect 3K as repay before the surgery. I told them that the doctor office has collected 1.3K already as prepay and I also spent some money as out of pocket. The lady was not very kind and told me I have to agree to pay 1.7K on the day of surgery, otherwise the surgery is not able to be scheduled. And I was told the refund will be happen in 4-5 weeks. It has been 9 weeks, no information at all. When I called their number, they said their billing is handled by other company # 626-821-8103/8104. Those 2 numbers are always busy. When they ask for money, they will keep calling you. When you ask for refund, no one will response you. zero star for the billing service; 4 stars to the surgery service. by average, 2 stars. read more

The anesthesiologist would not give me the proper dosage of midazolam before the surgery. As a result, I had a bad burning sensation when he injected the propofol. Otherwise, everything else was fine. read more

Like the first review mentioned, their billing management is awful, kept sending me bills after the surgery (received a total of 3 bills in addition to the first payment made on the surgery day) which were not mentioned at all when I first got a surgery quote from them. They not only charge you for using the facility but also each doctor who performs the surgery even including anesthesia service doctor for $$$. My suggestions to whom reading their yelp review is tunless you don't care about your money, then feel free to visit them! Update: Got another bill today...approves again the mess of their billing management and lack of transparency of fee structure. read more

if you have visit or need a surgery, hopefully all goes well. if you have any issue with the patient billing department, good luck!!! the billing department will make sure the hospital gets paid more than the hosptial is entitled regardless of the amount your insurance pays or will pay, and the amount paid by you. the hospital wants the money now and, if you and/or your insurance company overpay the contractual amount due the hospital, good luck getting your money back!!!! a refund due you can be a very insignificant amount, and you will likely never receive the refund. be cautious! read more

I've had two elective surgeries at this facility and both were excellent experiences. The staff is courteous, pleasant, and respectful. Most recently, Dr. Lara was my anesthesiologist and he was so kind and compassionate - I cannot say thank you enough for the good care and amazing bedside manner he provided. I had a cosmetic procedure here and received excellent, kind and compassionate care from all who were involved in my surgery. I think it is important to know that Huntington Ambulatory Surgery Center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) which means they are held to a high standard of care such as appropriately qualified staff, sterility of instruments, cleanliness of facility etc. Many surgery centers do not have this accreditation so are not obligated to adhere to appropriate standards. If you plan to have surgery, make sure the facility is AAACH certified for your own safety! read more

This place is completely unprofessional. My wife had a procedure done there, and was told she could remain there by the nursing staff until 7:30 pm. She was then rushed out 4 hours earlier when we had no way of picking her up. The staff was completely unprofessional and gave her and I wrong information. What a POS of a place. I am 2 days removed from my surgery and I have to be absolutely clear about the type of service I received from this remarkable team of medical professionals lead by Dr. George Tang!!!!! (Orthopedics) I'm a vet who served 14 years and have had my share of surgeries including ankle replacement, shoulder reconstruction to boot!!! But this group of compassionate, caring, talented medical professionals are by far the best I've ever dealt with!!!!!! Dr. Tang you and your staff are a true blessing during this time of uncertainty and confusion as seen in society!!!!! Just received a bill for a procedure that my son had at the facility in August 2013. They sort of forgot to bill me last year and 9 months later are catching up - computer changes they said. Unfortunately, the bill is for close to $2,000. It turns out that they do not just bill for the use of their facility. They bill for each procedure that was performed by the doctor (this is on top of the actual doctor fees - just for the use of their facility), i.e. adeneidoctomy $3,312 and each eustachean tube $4,653.25. It's a good thing that we have only 2 ears! I guess what bothers me more than anything is the fact that it's okay for them to send a bill almost a year later. And, in speaking with their staff and supervisor, Michael Chang, there's absolutely no apology, no flexibility, nothing at all. As far as he's concerned, they can bill whenever they want. And, I should be very happy that the insurance company's negotiated rates are significantly lower and I only have to pay around $2,500. It was like talking to a robot. He pretty much even told me that he doesn't even have to speak to me especially if I'm argumentative (questioning on my end.) To make matters worse, my son just had another procedure at this facility last week. Should I have known their billing practices and approach, I never would have scheduled it there. Beware... it's a pretty and clean facility, but only if you have the big bucks or satisfied your deductible. read more

My daughter had a procedure her on Thursday. Mary, front desk reception, was friendly and made the sign in process effortless. Dr. Julian-Wang, OB/GYN and Dr. Perrera, Anesthesiologist, were wonderful and alleviated my daughter's anxiety....Katie Dudley, my daughter's nurse, was helpful and made her feel comfortable and at ease post surgery. The facility is comfortable and clean. They have a Kurig machine up front if you need coffee... Good job! read more

I had a procedure here today and was pleased overall with the staff and facilities. So far I have not had any issues with the billing. A few days before my surgery a nurse contacted me to go over everything including the costs after insurance and I paid the day of(at least for the facilities). The surgery center overall is very clean and looks rather new. All the rooms I was in were very clean and the medical equipment looked well maintained and modern. The nurses were all very nice to me and attentive and did what they could to make sure I was comfortable. They were also skillful and I had minimal discomfort getting an IV etc. The anesthesiologist Dr. Hart was very kind and patient(more so than a lot of other doctors I've seen) and made me feel at ease and comfortable about asking questions. This surgery center is also very timely as I was seen and treated right on schedule with what they told me ahead of time which I appreciated. One complaint I do have about this place is that unless your doctor has monthly blocked off time at this hospital it can be a long wait to get an appointment here, especially near the end and beginning of the year. I waited over a month and a half and I probably would have had to wait even longer if I hadn't expressed how upset I was; I finally got an appointment after I complained and my doctors office contacted the hospital supervisor. While it is rather expensive I feel like you get what you pay for and would return if I needed another procedure. read more

Had surgery done on 7/25/17. The whole staff was excellent from the registration to the preop and post op. The anesthesiologist was warm and thoroughly explained the procedure. They did not rush me out. I stayed hours past my surgery due to pain and nausea and the nurses were so kind and understanding. I even received a follow up call to check on my recovery. It was a great choice for me to have my surgery done there. Staff took really good care of me. read more

This place is clean, nice, professional, informative and staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Most likely if your GP or cosmetic surgeon works in Pasadena they probably have privileges here as well. I had surgery scheduled here. Billing office called and said they wanted full payment of the surgery of 1800. I had the same surgery last year and it was 1500. I have 3000 deductible and 20% coinsurance. Standard medical business practice is to bill patient for services rendered. I asked for their billing policy in writing to which they don't have one. I offered to pay 400 (1500 x .20= 300) as a gesture of good faith and for them to bill me for the service. Michael, billing supervisor, refused and wanted at least 750. If I overpay, then I can wait 5 weeks to get a refund. It's ridiculously hard to get your money back from a medical office. Michael then said that I should wait until I meet my deductible before I have surgery. I was basically treated like I was in collections before I even had surgery. Michael threatened me if I don't pay, then I can't have surgery. Lucky for me, my doctor gave me 3 facilities to choose from. Surgery was cancelled on Friday. Monday and Tuesday, the nurse called with pre op instructions. read more

I just had surgery here and no one called me beforehand to discuss billing like it says that they do in the printout. That was red flag number one. Also what facility doesn't have a nurse on call 24 hours? Or a way to contact your doctor the day of your surgery?? I am having an issue and I called but had to leave a message since it was after 6 PM!! The after hours operator acknowledged that they make it very difficult for patients to contact their doctors post surgery or any one for that matter! That's pretty terrible. My only option is that another doctor in his practice is on call and I've already waited for over an hour. I could feel my leg after surgery but now I can feel it at all. yes it's clean but it's like a auto shop for people - so many in and out of there in one day. and the post op information they give you is pretty general and not for your specific procedure (I had an orthopedic procedure and I was given instructions that apply to all orthopedic procedures which are all very different). I'm getting pretty sick of Pasadena healthcare in general. I have had the worst experiences especially when it's related to the Huntington. I'm gonna switch over to Glendale hospitals. had arthroscopic hip surgery. they hustled me out far too fast. forgot to tell me they had done a "block" on my leg so it was completely dead from hip to toe. that plus effects of anesthesia caused me to fall TWICE in the toilet--no help though. had to get myself back up on crutches and walk back to bed. they slapped a useless bandage on top of the one i fell on. did i damage the stitches? who knows--didn't even look. gave me apple juice but i puked it. put me in wheelchair. puked again beside my wifes car. poured me into car and no doubt happy to see me leave. i guess they kept their factory rolling though. read more
