Went here for lunch. Short and to the point...the food here was very fresh. I ordered a grilled chicken wrap which came with a side of veggies. For sweets, they had a chocolate cake with chocolate chip crumble (delicious and moist. My only gripe would be for seating and space. If you plan to come here for lunch, be very weary as there are only four tables in a cramped space. Nice rustic feel though. I would come back. read more

I attended a wedding catered by Chez Alice and the event was perfect. The food was laid out beautifully! The waitstaff walked around with the appetizers and were very good about helping you choose and making recommendations. The food tasted fantastic. They had these great Brie and apricot tartlets that I couldn't get enough of. The shrimp and crab were fresh and there was even a whole roasted pig. The most fun station was the mashed potato station. They had purple, white and sweet mashed potatoes with a fixings section. The only disappointing thing about the pig was that the skin was rubbery. That's one of my favorite part of the pig. Overall a great night of food, drinks and friends. read more

Chez Alice Cafe is simply charming. They offer a wide selection of lunch options like sandwiches, wraps, salads, and paninis. Oh and even crêpes! my favorite meal is the #6 spinach wrap with turkey, brie, and apples. The staff is always friendly and willing to help however they can. They have so many delicious treats! My favorite desserts are the French macaroons. I've also been to a party that Chez Alize has catered. They had so many yummy hor d'oeurves and the severs were very prompt and efficient. Its been two weeks since our wedding and people are STILL talking about all the food (and the neighbors are still coming over for leftover cake)! They're a catering company so lets talk about the food first: it was incredible (although I wish our wedding was longer so we could have more time to enjoy it!). I just finished the last leftovers of our stationary apps and they were AMAZING. I didn't get to try the passed apps, unfortunately, but everybody was talking about them... UNTIL DINNER! From the salad to the steak we were just thrilled with how all the food came out. Personally, the orzo was my favorite but MOST people were talking to me about the eggplant rolatini. Hannah, my wife, was most partial to the steak. While Chez Alice is a catering company, they were also our partners in planning the wedding. Let me start with Kelly, who runs a lovely business with an open heart as well as the love and respect of her employees. Kelly probably dealt with us more than she deals with other customers and treated us with generosity and respect throughout. The true star of the show for us, though, was PAULA! Our wedding was not your normal wedding: it was long, convoluted, and complicated; it mixed old jewish traditions with the ideas of young, open minds... Paula was not only open to all of it, but she went out of her way to go over the concepts with me and research the traditions in her free time. Paul negotiated deals with rental companies and alcohol companies, and even made difficult phone calls to some of those companies when I decided I didn't want to use them. Paula was enthusiastic and excited about our wedding during the planning, and took care of us all through the night while simultaneously making sure our 213 guests were entertained and happy at the same time. No event is perfect: I'm an event planner and I know that. That said, ours was pretty close, and there's no way it would have been to as good without all the hard work and LOVE that Paula, Kelly and the whole Chez Alice crew put into it. One of the most important things to us when it came to planning our wedding was that our guests enjoy themselves - that they eat a great meal in a great atmosphere. The food that Chez Alice provided for us was so good that we're still hearing now, three months later, about how great that food was. It wasn't just the food that was wonderful though! Kelly worked tirelessly with us on the menu to customize it to our personal preferences and budget. Amanda, the day of coordinator took amazing care of us, was always available for anything we needed, went out of her way to help us, and found us amazing vendors for things like music, linens, and alchohol. We had a lot of DIY decorations and details for the event, and Amanda took care of making the Elk's Lodge look beautiful, going above and beyond to arrange everything we handed off to her to look absolutely beautiful. AMAZING! We used CACC for our 9/29/18 wedding at the Strawberry Hill Mansion. Luz was our event coordinator and she was a dream. Luz was communicative, patient, kind and VERY detail oriented. Our wedding was stress free and fun and I credit a lot of it to the CACC staff. The food and service were also fantastic. If I could give no stars...I would. The crepe that I ordered was terrible...something in it was rotten/sour, just not palatable at all. I understand mistakes happen, but when I mentioned it to the people behind the counter...no one offered to remake it or if I'd like something different from the menu. I've been there twice & LOVED both my warm & cold lunch options with savory side dishes. The people who work the counter are friendly & attentive :) The owner is a Hopewell local small businesswoman who has raised her family in Hopewell & enjoys chatting with repeat customers. They also have an assortment of teas, coffees, lattes, and devilishly devour-some desserts! Who else has classic homemade Italian Rainbow Cookies??!! They are DIVINE!! Get them for sure if they're there. A great place to meet up - grab a latte & a muffin OR lunch - and chat with a friend. I think they have breakfast too...(?). This was one of the easiest parties I have ever given. Kelly came up with a lovely menu per my specifications, and she worked with me until we tweaked it so that all of my guests would be pleased. Then I worked with Luz to arrange the logistics. She was a pleasure and very detail oriented. Jen and Jon brought the food, set it all out beautifully and were ready to serve when my guests arrived. They were can-do people, easy-going, so very friendly and very hard-working. They were a delight to have at the party. Now, the food. Everything was excellent. Not a bite I didn't just love. My guests all commented how tasty it all was. The spanakopita was particularly delicious, pleasing my discerning Greek family and friends. I WILL use Chez Alice again. So very professional. Wedding planning is a long (and sometimes frustrating) process, and my husband and I didn't exactly know what we were getting ourselves into. To us, the catering company was the most important decision we had to make, so I'm writing this review so that other couples will have more information than we did about Chez Alice. We met with a handful of caterers before choosing Chez Alice. During our initial meeting and tasting, we were very impressed with Kelly, the owner of the business. She was kind, patient, and personable. The tasting menu was delicious. Fast forward 9 months later... Positives: The food was very good. The cake was wonderful. We had 5 passed hors d'oeuvres, a guacamole bowl, a plated salad and entrée, and cake, all for $40 per person (food only). Negatives: Amanda. After our initial meeting, Kelly passed us along to Amanda, our day planner/coordinator. Amanda is a very nice person, and very good at making reassurances. We were very happy with her after we first met. She helped us select our rentals and linen, and we walked through our venue together while she described how the venue is typically set up. Unfortunately, things started to change after that. My husband and I were perplexed by her behavior and finally realized that she was just very disorganized and incompetent, so we had to check and double-check everything she did ourselves. For example, 2 weeks after discussing it, Amanda forwarded us the alcohol quote. It was for nothing but wine, beer, and Moscow mules. We were so surprised, since we only mentioned Moscow mules in passing, in relation to whether we should rent copper mugs (which she knew that we decided not to...). Then, 2 months after picking out our rentals, our initial rental quote finally came in. Unfortunately, after finalizing our guest count and rental items, we had to send the quote back to her FIVE times because she got something wrong on it every time. We read through the quote line by line each time because we had lost all trust in her. By doing so, we brought the rental quote from $4000 to $3000. Other little details were also wrong. I emailed her a picture of a cake that I liked. A few months later, she emailed back asking me to send it again. Unless the search function in her inbox is broken, she could have put in a little work to dig it up, because that's exactly what I did. Then, she emailed to confirm that I didn't want the beading on the cake. In fact, that was one of the things I liked best about the cake and never told her such a thing. After all the frustrating things that have happened, my husband sent a detailed excel spreadsheet of exactly who was sitting at which table with a tally of the various entrees at each table. Somehow, Amanda still messed up the counts, and he had to email her the corrections. One of the most outrageous things that kept happening was that we gave Chez Alice our credit card number for the initial deposit. Amanda, of course, reassured us that she would send us an invoice before she charged us for the remaining balance. Then, one busy day at work, I got a call from my credit card company that someone was attempting to charge thousands of dollars on my card. Turns out, it was Chez Alice. Never was an invoice sent to us. My husband called Kelly to tell her this was an unacceptable practice. She apologized and said it would not happen again. Unfortunately, this exact thing happened with the rental company that Amanda was supposed to be coordinating. We noticed that the last revised invoice from the rental company had a "paid" stamp on it, backdated 2 days from the day we received in. Luckily, this last invoice turned out to finally be correct, but we had not authorized this charge, which already went through to my credit card. On the day of our wedding, it rained, but we had a tent. I wanted the backdrop of the ceremony to be the beautiful lake in the back. However, Amanda lined up the groomsmen so that the backdrop of the ceremony was a wall. The bridesmaid that I sent to coordinate the ceremony with Amanda was so perplexed that this happened because she had a face-to-face conversation with Amanda clearly tell her what I wanted. Even after this conversation, Amanda demanded that my husband come out of his prep room to discuss the setup again, holding up the ceremony since all the guests wanted to say hi to him. Then, at the end of the night while we were cleaning up, we were given half of the bottom tier of cake on a cake board to take home. They apparently had no cake box (I wonder how they transported the cake to the venue?). Rather than throw the whole thing away, my mom held it on her lap on the way back to the hotel. The list goes on and on. If we had trusted Amanda, we would have ended up wasting thousands of dollars on a wedding that only served Moscow mules. Unfortunately, this meant that we spent hours and hours planning our wedding, when neither my husband nor I had the time for. read more

At one point they helped fan me (groom) who has a medical condition that causes me to sweat! They went above and beyond to help in the extreme heat we had yesterday. If I could give a negative rating I would. Took my daughter whom I seldom get to spend time with here for lunch. Expecting to have a delightful encounter, sadly not the out come. We ordered crepe's which turn out to be so horrible we could not eat them, we did mention it to the staff which gave us shallow sorry, but did not offer to rectify the situation, only a that will be $30.87 So my then 8.5 month pregnant daughter had no lunch. I travel frequently and don't have a lot of time, so I needed someone to step in and drive making sure we had what we needed, where we needed it and someone to serve and clean it all. There was something missing and I was told that I could later get a replacement but not a refund. When I was able to order something, I was charged more money than what was advertised (by $5).
