I visited Chi massage, is the a legitimate massage spa. I requested a table shower and 30 min massge for $60. The place is clean and organized. The therapist welcomed me and showed me to my room. When the table shower was ready. She was kind enough to scrub me aggressively and hard like I asked. She did a pretty good job except I had to remind of of my feet and under my arms. Note: (All private areas are covered during the table shower). (Ladies, If you have not tried this, I highly recommend for you or anyone). They can scrub you to remove dead skin cells. It's very invigorating. Once I toweled myself off, I then proceed to my room for my massage. I set my timer as I always do. The therapist began to massage body with the sheet on, which is typical, to prep your body for massge, but since I was doing a 30 Min massge and I already had a table shower this step could be skipped. I attempted to explain that to My therapist but she became irritated. yBut I already had a table shower there was no need to did this step. My muscles are already warm up. It's my experience that the therapist is there to take care of you, not to perform a routine that they do on every client. My comment was the beginning, After that she spent time massaging my back. I asked her to move to the rest of my body. She said that a 30 min massge is back only. I said please explain. She just keep repeating that is what they do for a 30 min massage. She became irate and raised her voice. I explained to her that we could cancel the massage and I would pay for the table shower. I shared that I paid for a massage and I wanted her to spend 5 minutes on each area of the body. I don't have issues with my back, why would I spend 30 min on just that area. . It's not therapist choice, it's the clients choice. Therapist had forgotten the purpose of massage is for the benefit of the client and what they need. All in all this was an ok massage, I still tipped 20% and gave 3 stars because the table shower was very good. If you want the therapist to determine how to massge you, without even asking you if you had any area of concern or anything at all, this is the place to go. If you want a place where they are concerned about your focus areas and delivering an exceptional experience. Then you may want to go to ATL Massage on Hamiton Mill in Dacula. read more

I made an early appointment a day before my vacation thinking I should physically relax before mentally relaxing and I'm not sure that was a good idea but I'm still glad I did. I wish I remembered who worked on me but sheesh she was a stronggg lady! I asked for medium hard pressure because I like the pain. It hurts so good. LOL She did an amazing job. At some points during the massage I contemplated asking her to lessen the pressure. Happy I didn't because I left feeling so much lighter! Granted the establishment isn't super fancy but if you just need somewhere to get your body feeling right this is THE place. Can't wait till my next visit! read more

Saw this newer place on Google Maps that I was unaware of and had lots of good reviews so decided to give it a try as I was passing through Winder. Came in without an appointment and was greeted by a therapist who was wearing a Halloween shirt, in May. Once the massage began to she rubbed my back a little and then just rubbed oil around my lower back, butt, back of my upper leg, and inner thighs. Didn't stray from that area, just kept putting more oil on and rubbing her hands on the same spots, not even what I would call massaging. Without 'massaging' anything else she asked if I was ready to turn over. I sat up and looked at her rather confused and asked if she could massage the rest of my legs as she had touched nothing below my thigh up to that point. She briefly rubbed oil on my calves then got the hot towel to wipe all the oil off. After I turned over I was left completely uncovered as she started more of her spreading oil around on my thighs, hips, lower abdomen, and well into my pubic area. It was obvious what she was trying to do but I was not interested. Eventually, she gave up and said she was all done. I checked my phone, 47 minutes had passed since I put it down before the 1-hour "massage". She never touched either of my arms, hands, shoulders, neck, head, chest, most of my lower legs, knees, or my feet. When I walked out I noticed the sign advertising $5 off for a 5-star review, which explains why they have so many. I handed her $60 and walked out. Never again. read more

Very nice place and a great massage. I throughly enjoyed the experience and thought it was a clean and great massage experience. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is at checkout, I tipped 15% (which I thought was correct) and was told by my masseuse that was not enough. I have never in my life been told a tip was not enough, especially in front of another customer. Not going to lie, that through me off and tainted the experience somewhat. I'm a repeat customer at this point! She is amazing. I love the table I lay on. The face rest is really comfortable and I don't feel nasally afterwards. The music that she plays is wonderful. She places a towel over the back of my head to keep the oil out of it. I'm really ticklish so the pressure she uses is perfect otherwise I would laugh the whole time. When I arrived the lady took me to a room and told me to lay on my side and remove my shirt. I have been going to Chi Massage in Winder for about 3 months now. I go at least once each week and sometimes twice. I have experienced pretty severe lower back pain for about 10 years now. Chiropractors have been no help at all. It was money wasted. It seems my issue is related to musculature as was pointed out on my first or second visit to Chi Massage. My back pain is not completely gone but I would say it is 95% better. The massage therapist knows exactly what she is doing. I have intentionally NOT told her what my main issue is: back, shoulders, spine, etc. She finds it anyway and works on it. Recently, I have been nursing a severe shoulder injury. Without saying anything about it, the therapist focuses on my shoulder. It's not a coincidence. The facilities are clean and comfortable. I have been to others that are not. The therapist is professional and courteous. Not all are. I highly recommend Chi Massage to anyone, especially those with back pain. She will help you. I never would have believed it but it is true. Massage therapy, in many cases, is far better that chiropractics. read more
