Probably one of the best if not the actual best cruise excursion my wife and I have taken since we started being "cruise people". First, value. We took a beautiful boat ride to a secluded location, had wonderful food, and absolutely all the drinks you could possibly want. All for a very reasonable price, better than anything our cruise line offered. The people were all awesome. They all wore shirts that said "I my job!" And it felt like they actually did. It was like a bunch of friends invited you to a really awesome party. The place we stopped at had it all. Beautiful pool. Large hot tub. Great snorkeling. Paddle boards if you wanted. A great hike to a lovely waterfall. And if you just wanted to soak up the sun, they had really comfy loungers. On the way back, we were all feeling great and most of us started dancing. We all probably looked silly but were having way too much fun too care. Next time in Puerto Vallarta we are absolutely booking these folks again. We had a great time on the Yelapa Falls tour with Chica Locca Tours -- overall a really fun, well-run excursion with an awesome crew. The staff is incredibly attentive and welcoming from the start. Fair warning: the drinks start flowing around 9am, so pace yourself and bring lots of sunscreen -- the sun + cocktails add up quickly. The booze selection is pretty generic, but plentiful, and the snacks along the way are appreciated. The fajita lunch was solid and hit the spot after a morning on the water. Shoutout to Ricky Ricardo, truly the hostess with the mostest -- high energy, fun, and kept the vibe going all day. Luis was also fantastic, constantly checking in and somehow remembering everyone's names, which made the experience feel very personal and welcoming. They even slowed the boat down so we could watch whales, which was a highlight, and having a photographer on board was a nice touch to capture the day. The music on the ride home was a little outdated, but honestly... it just turned into a dance party anyway -- especially once the tequila shots started making the rounds. All in all, a great excursion with a fun crowd, attentive staff, and memorable moments. Easy 4 stars and a solid choice if you're looking for a lively day trip while in Puerto Vallarta. read more

I purchased an all-inclusive Mega Yacht Tour to a secluded beach via Viator. Prior to the event, I received notice that the date needed to be moved due to bad weather. I agreed, but since the owner messaged me, I decided to confirm that the yacht pictured in the photos was the yacht I'd be going on. They responded, "rest assured, the yacht in the photos is the yacht you will be on". On the day of the event, we were given life jackets to get on a two story boat that had Chica Locca Tours written on it. I thought this boat would take us to another location where we would get on the yacht. Nope. We arrived at the secluded beach where there was no WiFi and no manager on site. I asked three different staff members about the yacht and was told: 1) there is no yacht, 2) the yacht is for a different tour, and 3) the yacht was undergoing maintenance. I asked to speak with the director, but he was no where to be found. They did provide drinks, food, and snacks. The water activities were included but no one was there to show you how to paddle board or kayak - just the equipment was available. The snorkel gear was placed in a large bin with no way to clean the items from other passengers using it. I was incredibly disappointed with this tour as I confirmed prior that a yacht would be available and I was leaving Mexico soon so I wanted to take some pictures of the tour for my clients. Upon arriving back to the pickup location, I went back to the office and asked to speak with the manager. The staff told me to write the same person on WhatsApp instead of talking to them. When I did that, the staff became incredibly rude so I decided to reach out to Viator since I purchased this tour not only as a client but also as an agent. Viator submitted my complaint and a request for a full refund. The tour operator denied my request with no further explanation. I then spent an hour with customer service, emailing records and screenshots of my text messages confirming a yacht should have been present. What I find incredibly disheartening is that after I submitted my complaint, the tour operator changed the name of the tour from Mega Yacht to Mega Catamaran and changed the photos that showed a yacht to the two story boat were were actually on. I provided this evidence to Viator who confirmed with their IT team that they did in fact update the tour listing when they denied my request for a refund, indicating that they did in fact lie and that move was purposely made to seem like they were in the right. WRONG. Needless to say, Viator processed my claim for a full refund and I will not be recommended this tour to any of my clients as it was not advertised correctly and they are now on my "not trustworthy" list. It's a shame because the staff were nice, incredibly friendly and attentive. But nonetheless, IT WAS NOT WHAT I PAID FOR, and had they told me it wasn't a yacht, I would have canceled the tour and went with another company. This is false advertising. This tour was super fun. Every staff member was so kind! Sexy David was really funny, and Gaby took some great pics of us. We loved the open bar both on the boat and on the island. The breakfast on the way there was an assortment of fruit and mini muffins. The lunch was fajitas which we really enjoyed. I loved that everyone had to wear a life jacket for the first 10 minutes of the ride as I was initially nervous about the ride. After the 10 minutes are up, we had the option of continuing to wear the life jacket or take it off. All the instructions they gave were in both English and Spanish. One of the highlights on the way there was the whale watching. We saw a couple of them and it was so cool because it's the very end of the season, so we won't be seeing them again for a few months. Once we got the the island, we had some really good chips and guacamole. There were a few different excursion options for an additional cost. such as hiking to the waterfall, going horseback riding, or driving ATVs. Not sure what the cost for those were. We enjoyed snorkeling in the ocean and swimming in the shallow pool with a bar attached for easy access. I highly recommend this tour. We definitely got our money's worth and more! read more

While at a wedding in PV, the father of the bride surprised everyone by booking an evening cruise on the mega yacht. Unfortunately, when we showed up for the tour, we were told the ship was unavailable due to engine trouble. The alternate boat was an open deck trimaran that had only two restrooms and didn't have any interior cabin space with air conditioning, which given the heat and humidity, was a challenge for the older guests. That said, everything else about the experience was excellent. Service was outstanding by a staff that was very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent as well. Overall it was a great experience and proved to be a great ice breaker for the wedding group. I would recommend, but remain a bit skeptical that the mega yacht is actually a part of their fleet, as it was no where to be seen. read more

We toured with Chica Loca on March 28, 2024 and hands down was the best boat tour my boyfriend or I had been on. We did the Yelapa Falls All Inclusive Full Day Tour. We boarded the boat at around 8:30 and right away were asked if we wanted anything to drink and were giving breakfast (some fruit, a mini muffin, mini cinnamon roll). The boat was so spacious and clean, we have been on boats before where you're packed in like sardines but there was so much space to move around and sit. Plus the chairs they had for guests were very comfortable patio style chairs. Ricky was our host and he was so kind and fun. The rest of the crew was amazing too. I believe they said there was around 15 staff members catering to us so there really were people always asking if you wanted another drink or needed anything. They had two masseuses on board, you just added your name to a list and they would call your name when it was your turn (completely free but nice to leave tip for ladies). We got to a private Bay Area (literally not a single other boat) and were offered paddle boards, snorkeling gear, kayaks, Lilly pads, jumping off top of boat. Our only critique was we only got water time for about 45mins-1 hour another 30 minutes would've been perfect. We then departed for Yelapa. The town is very small and you had two options, 1st: go to waterfall and explore town/ shops. Or option 2: go to the beach in Yelapa (can't do both) you then got an hour in the town to explore. There were a couple of shops with people selling jewelry, souvenirs etc. and a couple of places to buy a drink. After Yelapa they feed you fajitas which were pretty decent. We appreciated that all the food was portioned out and given to each person on a paper plate, so no worrying about buffet. They played fun music for us and gave chips and guac towards the end of the excursion. Boyfriend and I definitely took advantage of the open bar and they were always so fast with the drinks 10/10. Overall, a wonderful experience and all of the staff were so so lovely (all spoke English as well if that's a concern) we would recommend this tour to anyone! read more

I cannot express how magical our wedding was, and it was due to the Chica Locca experience! We rented the Chica Limousine for our 90 guests and stopped off at the Chica Locca beach for our ceremony, dinner and party. From the start and planning side, Gil and his staff gave us the personal attention as if we were the most important people. Gil himself answered the phone every single time we called, which was a lot. He spent his time talking with us, and answered all of our questions. It was a destination wedding, and Gil put us at ease with his amazing staff and all of their experience. The day of the wedding, Gil and his staff took care of every single detail, and made us as well as each of our guests feel very special. The catamaran ride over (and back) was a total blast with fun music, dancing, and drinks galore. The moment we got off the boat and onto the hidden beach, the setting was spectacular and everything we could have dreamed. It exceeded our expectations! They were organized, did everything we had asked, as well as gave great recommendations. Our guest continue to complement how well everything went and what a great job they did and are all still on a high from how much fun they all had. Their cups never went empty, and the food was outstanding. The only thing our guests commented was that they wished they would take Venmo because they wanted to tip them more because they worked so hard and were so great. This review is loooong overdue. This is a great experience if you're in the mood for some vitamin sea. Instead of chartering our own private boat, our group of 12-ish opted to share the boat with others. We knew it'd be fun to mix things up, meet people from around the globe, and have a good time (which we did). We started off by meeting in the plaza at Sayulita, taking a shuttle to the marina, and then an excursion to Las Marietas Islands (aka "hidden beach"). I heard conservationists have since then closed down. But regardless, Chica Locca is a legit company. The boat was great, the staff was incredibly accommodating and catering to all the food/drink needs, and we had a great time sunning, dancing, kayaking, paddle boarding, tubing and water sliding... all the things! Highly recommend their services. Note: Las Marietas has grown in popularity over the years, and the national park program attempted some form of crowd control by allowing ~600 amount of people onto the island. Still, thousands of tourists would still visit the island daily. So thankful they are preserving this national park by closing it to the masses. A group of 12 of us adults hired Chica Locca tours for a private boat for 7 hours. We had no idea what to expect but we were blown away. The boat was amazing and comfortable and clean with 2 water slides, a platform deck to jump off and all the fun water toys to include fishing. I caught a fish and the crew quickly turned it into the most delicious ceviche I have ever had. And that was in addition to the endless drinks, snacks and delicious lunch. The crew made this day amazing. They were so fun and friendly and attentive. Anya was on top of everything we needed. We felt safe the whole time and they catered to our every need. And having our own photographer was the perfect cherry on top. We saw whales and dolphins and many birds. We had a great time hanging out in the beautiful bay. While transportation to the pier was seamless, the staff was friendly & service while on the boat was great (and some of the issues that arose were out of their control) this company unfortunately missed the mark on communication & expectation setting prior to the trip and ended my wedding week on a horrific note as a result. I'm still devastated as I reflect back on it more than 6 months later. The 3 biggest issues we had: - Conditions: The conditions of the ocean were so rough that over half of our boat threw up and 95% felt so unwell that we opted to end our excursion early. Most of our group wasn't even prone to motion sickness & those who were had taken medication in advance. Of course the conditions are no fault of the company, but I felt clearer expectations could've been set that could've allowed me to make an informed decision about whether or not to proceed with the tour. I would've preferred to lose the money than to have this experience, but I also think a responsible tour company would have canceled because they were so bad & it became a safety issue. - Boarding Process: we had to taxi from a smaller boat to get to the larger boat, which is understandable, but because of the conditions it was very unsafe getting in & out of the taxi boat and we had folks who were elderly and/or had injuries who were unable to join (or who joined but felt uncomfortable) because of this. I wish we had this information prior so we could better assess whether or not this excursion made sense for our group. - Marina Fees: In the 20 emails received from this company prior to the trip, the only mention of marina fees was a small note after our pick-up location that said "(client pays marina fees)". There was no mention of what the fees would be (150 pesos per person, which was around $330 USD for our group). There was also no mention that I had to bring cash & couldn't use a card in order to pay these. Like most people, I wasn't carrying an extra $330 of cash on me and this resulted in a horrible ending to the already rough experience we had. I understand that the marina & not the company were charging the fees, however the people at the marina then proceeded to literally hold my guests hostage on the larger boat for almost an hour, refusing to taxi them in, until this was sorted out by the owner. Had I been told how much cash to bring OR had we figured out the marina fee issue prior to getting on the boat, this all could have been avoided. It was incredibly irresponsible of the tour company to allow this to even happen in the first place. This attempt at a trip was the only thing that went wrong during my entire wedding week & it'll all be a funny story one day, but as a business owner myself, clear/direct communication, client/customer safety & comfort and expectation setting is key and I did not receive this at all. I do appreciate our drivers & the staff for their assistance throughout the evening, but this was an unacceptable experience and I hope some changes are made for future guests. read more

This excursion and experience was 10/10! I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. The crew worked SO hard for us. We would try to throw something away ourselves, and they'd catch us and take care of it for us. I was with my mom (in her 70s), my husband (40), my 8 year old daughter, and myself (42). All of us had so much fun. The waterfall hike was easy enough, and I highly recommend doing that. The water is cold, but they allowed us to jump in, and I am SO happy I did. It was such a beautiful experience. The whole thing was great - from the quality of the snorkel equipment, to the service, to the boat, to the food and drinks! The boat left later than we anticipated, and they sent a water taxi for us to bring us out to them. Best service! Book it! But, if you're coming in on a cruise ship, I would suggest something that goes later in the morning. It's very hard to get to them in time before they leave. read more

Okay. So I am week late maybe 2. If you are on Yelp it's probably because you googled and it was #1 on the activities and you came here to see what people really thought. It was GREAT. Take sunblock (safe for the fishies please) AND take water shoes (you are welcome) take something decent to walk around the town you will land on and take lots of small denomination of pesos and big ones for the end (you are welcome Chicos locos). aside from the back of the boat speakers were not working, there's lots of seating, Oh! Take motion sickness pills (also, you're welcome) people think they wont need it and then 6people will ask if you can spare a pill (mhmm). Lots of fun and those guys are so naturally friendly You will Not regret it. Also have some protein before you get on boat the breakfast... is fruit and small cupcakes. As a last minute family outing before heading back to California, my family decided on a Chica Locca boat adventure! My brother in law met Carlos, one of the associates working the store front at the Sayulita square center, who provided wonderful customer service and therefore we decided to book with him/Chica Locca. We liked how he didn't try to pressure us to buy but still provided great information for the rates and adventure options. Per person, it came out to be close to $100 and this included the 7 hour outing on the second largest, 2-story boat they offer, breakfast (2 pastries with fresh fruit), lunch (your choice of chicken or roast beef sandwich with pasta and salad) plus open bar for 7 hours! The crew man working were super entertaining and made sure you had a drink on you at all times, they were friendly and basically become your best friends after the excursion! I just finished my second Chica Loca tour, the second of many many more. Key points on why this is your go to boat tour company and really the best in business: 1) Patience- as a traveler, trying to organize 8 people on a time, price, place, and agreement is difficult! People saying they're in then bailing, new folks joining is a real thing and group organizing is tough to manage when plans are changing so rapidly. Gil, the owner of Chica Loca and Carlos, the manager of the Sayulita office: -Acted with extreme kindness! Remembered my name, followed up, and genuinely cared about providing the best time they where capable of offering. All encounters where met with pleasantness and knowledgeable recommendations on the local areas. (I am sucker for great Customer Service, and man, these guys knocked it out of the park!) -Where so easy to work with! Once we finally figured it out amongst ourselves (hardest part) our payment options where laid out clearly and had phenomenal options of cancellations which really helped us book with confidence. -Practiced great business buy not hiding any fees or random charges ( love this! ) -Acted flexible when I changed our groups plans a million times -Lastly, accommodating (we where short on heads to make it a certain price per person so the agency joined forces with us to find another fun and similar group and even upgraded us to a better boat!) 2) The Boat! The Chica Fun water slide sunset tour was just plain sick! The only way to put it was a perfect evening spent! -The crew are just the absolute chillest, nicest, fun dudes! Hilarious, full of energy, and had an awesome vibed out personality. We actually requested him to be our tour guide because of our first (equally awesome) tour. Puncho was great, but that doesn't discount the rest of the crew. All awesome find dudes, that where shirts that say on the back 'I love my job ) and it's clearly a true statement. -We cruised, swam, saw dolphins, used the water slides, drank, danced, ate great snacks, and saw and awesome sunset on a pimp boat. Can you really beat that? 3) Safety Let's be real, safety is a thing when going on a massive boat with 30 people. Not once did I feel any sense of danger, zero incidents popped up, and the crew was on it. I saw them constantly counting people out amongst themselves and it seemed like they had a phenomenal safety system and a solid plan to save me in case my dumbass fell off the boat at night. Not once did I question the safety of the experience or have a fear (or really a care) in my mind while being in that boat. Summary- I will be a repeat customer to Gill and Company at Chicalocca Tours forever. It is actually my favorite way to spend a day other than seeing live rock n roll music and we are working towards combining that. The team are so fun! We had a Fantastic time with them! Food, boat, drink, service was GREAT!

We did a 4 hour Chico 2 Waterslides tour out of Puerto Vallarta. It took over an hour on the boat to arrive at our destination. We were given approximately 30 minutes to jump in the water and go down one slide. We couldn't use the paddle boards, kayaks, snorkels, or fishing poles due to the rough waves. It took 2 hours to get back. Totally not worth the tour! I can only assume the rough waters contributed to such a short amount of time to play in the water. It seemed like time was wasted on the way back so that our tour would hit the 4 hour mark. read more
