Vallarta Adventures was absolutely fantastic from start to finish on our excursion to the Marietas Islands off the coast of Puerto Vallarta. It was plainly obvious to me that everyone working for them genuinely enjoys their job, and that spirit effused itself into the whole group. The tour starts at the local port, which was easy enough to navigate. Anyone leaving via the port has to pay a simple 4 pesos charge as you are technically leaving the country for awhile and have to be re-screened when you re-enter. Buying this, and the security process on both ends was quick and without issue. They give you a quick orientation, and advise you on what you'll need to have a good day. This same information is in the emails sent to you prior, so none of it is a surprise. If you choose, there are places to buy reef-safe sunscreen, hats, and other items like cell-phone bags for underwater use in the waiting area. Once you get on the boat, it's just a constant party, and our group loved it. Tropical drinks and cervezas flowed endlessly, fresh fruit, energetic music played, and the crew kept you hyped the entire time. The boat ride itself was smooth to all stops, and the wind was refreshing in this tropical paradise. Out first stop was snorkeling on the reef in the Marietas. While this reef is long since sun bleached and fairly devoid of color thanks to climate change and increasing water temperatures world-wide, there is still a fair amount of marine life to see. The guides were helpful and safety conscious but not intrusive. They called people over if they spotted any rare sights. It was enjoyable but not breathtaking. The next stop was a beach party. Swimming, drinks, buffet, waterfalls, and lots of wildlife. Macaus were everywhere. The water was beautiful and clear. The food was absolutely delicious, and much appreciated after the activities. Again, no problem getting a drink, staff eager to serve. The ride back was the biggest surprise, in what could easily be a let down moment, the crew put on basically an 80s and 90s hits lip sync performance and show, complete with costume changes. Super engaging, hilarious, and really... a genius way to earn some more tips and keep a simple ride-back more fun. All and all, would book with this company again if and when I return to Puerto Vallarta. read more

Followed by going to a beach club for lunch, fine food, and activities there. The Mexican Backstreet Boys was my favorite! 3) sea safari - yelapa and another location which was so beautiful. Horseback riding across a "beach" (hardly a beach but ok). The best crew. Honestly the crews with each excursion were great. Really personable, entertaining, and upbeat. read more

Our other tour we took was the Yelapa Village/Mahajuitas BBQ tour. The first stop was to Yelapa Village where you can hike up to the waterfall. We boarded tender boats from our boat to the dock. The hike is a steep incline and it's made for those with advanced mobility issues. I am accident prone and was a little worried about coming back down since there were naturally growing mangoes that fell on the path and made it slippery. Add loose gravel and dirt plus water from people who swam at the waterfall walking in front of you and the steep incline, it's not a simple walk back down. After the hike to the waterfall, you board the tender boats and ride to the Yelapa beach, which is super nice. There are vendors on the beach but they're not pushy if you say no thank you. I did buy oysters on the beach and the lady shucked them right in front of me. One of the best oysters I've had in my life and definitely a lot cheaper than what I have paid in the States. From the Yelapa beach, we walked to our boat and went to a little reef to snorkel for a bit. I was a little bummed to learn that snorkeling was only for 20 min as I love to snorkel for 2-3 hrs at a time. They offer to sell you brand new snorkels if you don't want to use the equipment they offer for free. I brought my own equipment so I was good and my sister chose to not snorkel. Ok, people, please do not have this be your snorkel experience if you have a fear of water and/or cannot swim. I understand 20 min is a taster but 25 feet deep water near a reef that the waves can ram you into is NOT ideal. Yes, you have to wear a life vest but still not the best way to try out snorkeling. You put yourselves, other guests, and the crews at risk. The reef we snorkeled was really cool. We saw a lot of different fish and the water was so clear. The only issue was that it was jellyfish larvae "sea lice" season (Apr-Jul) so we were getting stung. Ok, the stings are not bad (unless you're allergic) and they feel like ant bites or plucking a stubborn hair and the frequency was few and far between. But you have to remember that the tour company CANNOT control sea life and you're entering THEIR homes when you snorkel. Now, because we were "getting bitten by sea lice," people wanted to get out of the water, but because the boat traveled a little bit away, it had to come back and be anchored again in order to allow people back on the boat. Once people found out they were being stung by jellyfish, people panicked and chaos ensued. The staff tried to calm people down and tried to keep order but when people have a fear of water or don't know how to swim, the staff couldn't do much but to try to yell assertively to calm down and explain that we need to act orderly. People were crying, yelling, and pushing people out of the way to get to and onto the boat. After getting out of the water, we went to Majahuitas Beach and it was so amazing. There are day beds, tables, chairs, and loungers to relax. The buffet was so delicious! The chicken and pork ribs were so tender and that cauliflower ceviche (vegetarian, maybe vegan) was so flavorful! David was our guide for Rhythms of the Night and Lucas was our guide for Yelapa/Mahajuitas and both were so amazing! Snorkeling at marieta islands was less than amazing but that's not because of our crew or anything. There was a massive tropical storm churning up the ocean around our time. After snorkeling we headed to the most magical beach on the mainland Corrientes. And literally, they could have forgot me there I wouldn't have been mad one bit. This review is for ALMA by Rhythms of the Night which is a production of Vallarta Adventures. This company provides several tourist activities in the PV area and I believe that Rhythms of the Night is their largest and most popular. I bought my ticket online several days before my arrival in late January. During the busier tourist times you will want to buy earlier. The cost was approximately $145 USD and it was well worth it. The "experience" begins with a 50 minute boat ride across the bay to the opposite coastline. During the entire trip you are in view of the shoreline. On the ride over the guests are treated to free beer, rum punch and margs on the rocks along with some appetizers. My boat saw several whales on the daylight ride over. Upon arrival at dusk, my boat de-boarded and then were led along a candle lit trail along the shoreline to 3-4 different dining areas for dinner. It felt like arriving on Fantasy Island with Ricardo Montelban waiting to greet you! Each area had tables under a roof but open sided along with other tables that actually were on some small secluded beaches. The primary illumination was from all of the lit candles and they were supplemented by white light strings hanging around. Every group (large or small) could sit by themselves. Even a party of one could sit by themself. Each dining area had a full buffet available along with waiters to take your drink order. The buffet was expansive with salads, beef, chicken and seafood entrees, side vegetable dishes and many desserts. Every table had a beautiful view of the water and the setting was perfect. After about an hour, we were told to get ready to move to the amphitheater for the evening show. This was a short walk before being seating in an outdoor theater with raised seating. By the time the show started, I estimated the crowd to be between to 1200-1500. The show lasted about an hour and was a Las Vegas quality show (but family oriented). There were gymnasts, acrobats, fire dancers, singers, etc. presenting a thoroughly entertaining show with many comedic moments. The show is heavily rooted in Mexican culture and customs and I completely enjoyed it. Oh by the way, while on land I did not have a cell signal so be prepared to be out of touch with the world for about 3-4 total hours. Finally after the show everyone is herded back to their respective boat for the nighttime ride back to where they started. This trip also included the same free drinks on the cruise back including a stage show by some of the crew for laughs. My trip started with the boat leaving at 5:30 pm and ended with the boat returning about 10:15 pm. I thought it was a fantastic evening with a fun round trip boat ride, very nice dinner and an excellent show. It was the highlight of my trip to Mexico. I highly recommend this excursion. read more

This review is specifically for the night show Rhythms of the night Alma and the boat ride for it. This was a blast. Attended this show with my extended family of 10 people. It starts at a mall that's connected to the docks. From there its about an hour boat ride to the island. We took boat #4 and you could tell that the captain and his crew did their best to keep the energy up. The playlist is litty and I was in a constant state of drunk the entire night. There are plenty of drinks and also photographers that take professional photos that they can print and sell you on the ride back. Once we got to the show, we lined up and watched it. It was great and reminded me a bit of cirque de soleil style acrobatics. It was pretty impressive and went on until the night. After which there is a buffet. The food is excellent, although I feel like there could be more lighting in the eating area. The atmosphere of the island is great at night, and I enjoyed walking off the meal and casually exploring the island. Ironically my favorite part was definitely the boat ride back. There was a flock of birds that decided to fly with us back to the mainland, and you could see them flying all around the boat as we sailed to hit US songs. Most people were out of energy as it was close to midnight at this point, but the captain and the crew rallied together and gave us an awesome going away show. I'm sure they didn't have to do that but it was a blast and it really made the whole night. read more

I did two separate tours with this company. The first was luxury snorkeling on a yacht and I paid for my first scuba diving lesson separately. The second was a sunset sailboat cruise. Both came with unlimited drinks and snacks. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. If I had more time, I'd sign up for additional activities. As a travel agent, I really appreciate when a tour is as advertised. Highly recommend. PS, I saw humpback whales, dolphins, and stingrays! It was amazing! read more

Absolutely terrible. We booked this touring place for the entire week including the Extreme Adventure, mexology tour, hidden island adventure, and rhythms of the night. On the first day we showed up to do the first one, Extreme Adventure, which we had reserved for the 19th with a confirmation email, however upon arrival, they had told us it was for the 20th. Keep in mind we have been in contact with them numerous times before this. We had already prepaid for everything, the tours and the drive to their office, only to be told "sorry nothing we can do". We can't do this tour tomorrow because we had another tour booked! They offered NO remedies. This is my first time in Mexico and international overall, and I was so excited for this trip. They messed up, and took no ownership for this. Our group is 11 people, and we cancelled everything with them, around $12000 of business. Now we're scrambling to find a new itinerary. Wow! This is quite an experience. We attended the Rhythm of the Night show with Vallarta Adventures. It starts out with a boat ride from the Marina Vallarta (or Nueva Vallarta) to a destination on the coast about an hour south. We had some pretty good ocean swells that night so there were quite a few passengers suffering through seasickness headed out. No big deal, i guess that's just part of the show. Once we arrived, we were directed to an outdoor theater for the show which was amazing. Musicians, acrobats, fire dancers, costumes and a little comedy punctuated a well directed show. After the show, we followed paths through the jungle to our dining area right on the beach. A buffet included seafood, beef, roasted vegetables and an array of desserts complemented by a rich spiced coffee. Our return cruise was quite a bit smoother and included a show by the boat's staff with music, dancing, juggling and more comedy. This is a big production and it costs a bit but it's well worth it. Arrive at the marina with at least 45 minutes to complete the arrival registration and pay port fees. The port fees are paid directly to a government agent in cash (dollars or pesos) only. If you arrive too early, you can also spend a little time shopping or enjoying a cocktail while you wait to board. read more

I've been to Puerto Vallarta 3x in the last 12 months and I have gone on the OUTDOOR ADVENTURE zip lines, EVERY time. Today was just as epic as the other 2x, Insuring my return. I can not get enough of this tour. The roller coaster zip line is in the top 5 things I have done on my lifetime!! Yesterday we did the Dolphin Extreme and tomorrow we are doing a Sayulita tour. These guys Do Not disappoint!! Whatever adventure you would like to do.... These guys got you covered!!! I bought the 3 for the price of 2 package this time and .... We went on the Yelapa and Majahuitas tour. Had a really fun time. Spend a decent amount of time on the boat and personally was not a huge fan of Majahuitas. It was beautiful and exclusive but the beach sand is more rocky and the line for the bar is long. Would have been ok skipping that. I did love the town of Yelapa! It was nice to tour the town, just want to note that it's a decent walk and hilly so be prepared. Then it end at the beach in Yelapa where the sand is nice, there are lounge chairs to hang out and order food and drinks. There are people walking around to sell items or even had a guy carrying around an iguana to hold. read more

After our first trip we realized it was a hassle getting to and from Vallarta Adventures so we cancelled our other trip. This was our first time and we were very much pleased with the SEA SAFARI excursion. WHAT TO PACK/ WEAR My son and I wore our swim shorts. Wife wore her bathing suit underneath her clothes and wore leggings for the horse riding. I was fine in my trunks. We all wore tennis shoes and packed crocs/flip flops along with other items like sunblock into 1 backpack. But they provide you with a towel for the lunch buffet at the beach. Looking back, my wife wished she had brought her small fanny pack to carry small things. CHECK-IN Definitely arrive at least 45 minutes before departure. We felt a little overwhelmed when we had only arrived 30 minutes prior as noted on the instructions. The check in line went through pretty quick but as we were informed we needed to pay for the port fee ($32 pesos per person) at a separate booth, I had left to get in another line to pay for the port fee while my wife finished checking us in. Use restroom before boarding too! BOARDING OK, so while I was waiting in line to pay for the port fee, my wife was listening to a guy with a microphone calling out Boarding passes #. My wife definitely felt anxious as the guy spewing out numbers. Going through the actual security was easy. Once we got to the other side, there were Vallarta Adventures Staff guiding us where to wait. Surprisingly we actually ended up waiting 10-15 minutes for another late couple. SPEED BOAT The introductions happen when you're in the speedboat and the ride (30-35 mins) to the was amazing. We saw the tales of a whale breaching. ARRIVAL It was safe to leave our back backs in the speed boat and we just carried money. Then you walk along the beach towards the horses. HORSE/ MULE RIDING They go over basic instructions and then you hop on. You go around the village and through a small creek. The overall ride felt like 15 minutes. A couple locals were walking alongside our group the whole route. My wife got to talk to them a little bit with her broken Spanish. The best part was finding out the names of the horses they were riding. It was my son's first time riding and he absolutely loved his horse, Garbanzo. BREAK TIME After riding, Daniel our tour guide told us that we get to rest for 20-30 minutes and order a quick snack before heading to Yelapa. When I think of a snack, I think of chips and a bottled drink. But this is not the case, they had a full menu. We ordered, the Aquachile recommended by Daniel. It was a ceviche in green sauce. It did feel like it was more on the raw gray side so eat with caution. It ended up being a 45 minutes break time. Then you walk back for the dock, transfer back to the speed boat and ride to Yelepa. If you want the local experience, you can go barefoot. YELEPA Daniel was awesome at explaining the history behind Yelepa. It's nice to learn about their history and culture. HIKE TO WATERFALL There's a slight incline going up but very manageable. We're very glad we wore shoes though! On the way there are local vendors selling souvenirs. Wait until you return to shop. There's a mini bar that Daniel stopped by to teach us about a local alcohol called Raicilla (rye-see-ya), apparently a mixed between mezcal and tequila. I bought a shot for a walk up and a shot for the walk down. I sipped it along the way, very smooth. WATERFALL The waterfall wasn't exactly breathtaking but it was fun for my son to get in. Water was very cold. It felt rush at the waterfall and for the time go shops walking down. LUNCH BUFFET After the waterfall is a short ride to another beach, there you have to transfer to another boat (the waters are too shallow for the speed boat). Whoa were we impressed with the lunch and open bar. (Especially in comparison to the pirate ship) They served chips with salsa and guacamole, baked potatoes, vegetables, chicken, and the most delicious beef we've ever had! The beef was so tender and perfectly seasoned. The drinks were actually strong. We enjoyed our margaritas. RETURN On the ride back we got to see dolphins, what a pleasant surprise! They dropped us off at the dock and this is where you TIP! Then the rest of the group left to Nuevo Vallarta. CONCLUSION It was well worth the money. We learned so much about Yelapa and had so much fun! Our family would have much rather stayed at the waterfall or at the beach longer than spending 45 minutes during the morning break time or possibly extending the trip an hour later? read more

We booked a scuba and snorkeling trip for 9/2. I received an email on 8/30/25 indicating they were cancelling the scheduled tour. I immediately requested a refund. 2 days later they indicated refunds took 20-25 days depending on the bank... such BS. I have had credit card merchant accounts - refunds go through the day you key them into the terminal. It's been 17 days and still no refund from a tour they cancelled. It's ridiculous. We don't have an unlimited budget when on vacation and holding our funds hostage limits our ability to experience other excursions. read more

We had a great evening on the Sunset Cruise. Staff (Sergio, Johnny, Simon, and R*) were spot on keeping the drinks flowing, along with the appetizers and music. We even saw a sea turtle! So I booked Yelapa snorkeling bbq thru the cruise line. The energy was great the boat was pretty full they had music and drinks and everyone was happy. While looking where to snorkel there were thousands of baby jellyfish everywhere so it took time but they found an area for people to jump off and snorkel. Next they took us to a sketchy area that looked empty and abandon and had us get into a little boat to drop us off. We had to stay in this area for 1.5 hrs while people kept asking us to buy stuff. I asked to go back to the boat and the crew guy said no we had to stay here. Others were also looking confused on what's going on. I see this guy abusing an iguana which was upsetting and could not do anything. I felt they were getting frustrated that no one is buying anything. Finally we walked to a dock to get back on the boat let me say the ground is sharp and very hot. We went to another area which was beautiful. They had food already cooked and serving us . Food was hands down very good. People seem to relax and get comfortable. Not sure why they took us to that other place. Even going to the nice area the way they had us get on and off the boat was so much easier. Finally heading back and the crew is serving drinks and they did a lip synch show which was also great. The vibe was 5 stars however taking people to an area that looks sketchy and get harassed about buying souvenirs was not at all good. And don't have people abusing animals. read more

Actually all was done conscientiously with great consideration for these magnificent creatures and their habitat. We were so fortunate to see a mother and her calf. Great catamaran snorkeling/paddleboard/kayak tour of Marietta's Islands Nat'l Park. Fabulous sea life and birds. The crew was exemplary seeing to beverages, snacks while being focused on safety. Had a lunch at a private beach. Saw wonderful whales and dolphins. On the return to Puerto Vallarta, The crew entertained us and did their own version of dress up karaoke with choreography. Great way to spend a day in Puerto Vallarta. Great excursion that departs from PVs cruise port. read more

This review reflects only the service and food experience, not the Rhythms of the Night show itself. The performance was outstanding -- a true five-star spectacle that I would gladly watch again. However, I'm giving this experience a one-star rating due to two serious issues: aggressive solicitation for tips and poor food quality. While I understand that tipping is customary in tourist areas like Mexico, I found it extremely off-putting that multiple staff members -- including the bartender, server, and boat operators -- directly and repeatedly asked for money. It felt less like a gesture of gratitude and more like a mandatory collection, which detracted from the overall experience. Tips should be earned through attentive service, not expected by default. For example, our "server" did not actually provide service, as the meal was buffet-style, and never even offered a second drink despite the "open bar" label. The bar experience felt more like a one-drink minimum than a welcoming, unlimited setup. The more serious concern, however, was the food. I became violently ill after the meal -- the sickest I have ever been while traveling. Given that my wife, who does not eat seafood, was completely unaffected, we suspect the issue came from either the shrimp or the fish fillet, which were likely spoiled. I'll spare the graphic details, but the next 36 hours of my vacation were completely derailed due to the severe reaction I experienced. Terrible.... only 15 min. on ATV - they wanted 40$ USD for insurance......they don't bring camera's for "safety" purposes - BUT have a person taking photos - and "SELLS" them to you at the end for $100 - WTHeck...really?? We did the outdoor adventures trip yesterday with guides Pina, Luis, Pablo, Valdo, and May. We had an excellent time. It was my husbands first time zip lining, but they made us feel safe and comfortable through the whole process. The rollercoaster zip line was a highlight of our trip for sure! You can't take your phone though, so don't even try. It will get crushed. I thought about risking it but am so glad I didn't. read more

Not a good experience. From the booking to the actual tour, was given the wrong information repeatedly and they made it difficult to book for a group. The actual tour was very light on food. Previous trips I had done with VA had fruit, charcuterie and lunch but they seriously cut back on the food served so the tour was not what we expected. Was told to arrive at 7:30 am and waited until 11 to board boat and leave. No one would or could provide helpful or accurate information regarding delays. Was offered to rebook but had to rebook for a date certain rather than given the option of a credit. Having recommended and booked for a group of friends, it was an embarrassing and disappointing and costly bad experience. read more

Went on a boat outing from the cruise ship, it involved snorkeling and a trip to a private island with lunch and drinks inc. what a wonderful crew and tour guide they were the best tour people I ever had, I have a hard time walking and they helped me all the way. they were very attentive bringing drinks and food very often and many times told jokes and checked on us, they gave a cool rock show on the way back to the ship. This is a great tour company. We signed up through a Carnival Cruise. We went to Las Majahuitas and were not disappointed. The crew on the boat were entertaining and fun, both ways. Helped to make the 45 minute ride go by quickly. We purchased, the "Exclusive" tour which included drinks and lunch and were not disappointed. The drinks flowed liberally and the food was AMAZING!!!! I've always had a great time with the Adventures company, whether it was in Cabo or Cancun. Vallarta was no different and this ended up being our favorite tour. Our group of 8 decided to try the Outdoor Zipline Adventure, which took up the entire first half of the day. There are two pick up spots, one in Nuevo Vallarta and the other at Puerto Magico. Since you'll need to take a boat ride, everyone needs to pay a $2 USD dock fee. This booth is separate from the Vallarta Adventures counter. Make sure you arrive early to sign waivers and settle in before the boat leaves. To get to the starting point of our zipline adventure, we had to take a 20 minute speedboat ride, a 15-20 min car ride (more like a bus/truck), and a 10 minute mule ride. After all the gear and safety debriefs, we finally got started on the adventure. We went through so many different ziplines and in different positions (even upside down). We rappelled down a waterfall and got dunked into the various rivers. There were even some water slides too! There are multiple tour guides and photographers for the entire trip and everyone is experienced and super friendly. Doing all of this in February, it actually gets colder the deeper you go into the forest. And since you're wet and breezing through the trees, the provided wet suit really makes a difference. I didn't notice a lot of bugs but if you're worried, get some of the environmentally-safe bug repellants. At the end, while we waited for our bus back, there's a snack bar where you can get free chips and salsa with your adventure ticket. For $4 USD, you can also get a quesadilla with guacamole. Cocktails are $10 and the margaritas are served in giant glasses. And as something extra, the boat ride back swung as by Los Arcos, a protected marine park. What a great way to close out the excursion and I highly recommend it! read more

We went to Rythm of the Night Alma. The show was excellent-kind if like a cirque du soleil but a little smaller of a show. Acrobatics 10/10. Talent was excellent. alcohol was cheap cheap cheap. Alcohol on the boat was cheap. One beer option. One super watered down margarita option. One extra sweet grapefruit and rum drink, not worth it to get the extra $10 unlimited alcohol package. They didn't even check your wristband to see if you had purchased the alcohol or not so really you could chance it and just not pay extra, they'll probably still serve you. Not really recommending that but just saying you're paying for everyone's drinks, regardless of whether they paid for them. Seats in the boat are a cheap plastic. You're quite packed in like a herd of cows. It's about an hour boat ride. Don't do your hair up all perfect for this, it will get ruined before it even starts. Once you arrive, the whole thing is a production. Live music and dressed up talent in sea and bird creature outfits. Beautiful costumes. You go right to dinner. The food was mostly good, especially for a buffet. The views at dinner were phenomenal. You are eating right next to the ocean on a private beach. Very calming. No reason to get in line early for the show. You have to sit longer and they start seating every other row. They come back and fill in the vacant rows with the late arrivers anyway. You have more than enough time to eat, walk around the facility, sit in the hammock, etc. Do not rush. Seat at the show are a backless concrete bench with a small cushion. Butt fell asleep in minutes. Not comfy. The show was so good that you kind of forgot how uncomfy it was very quickly. Do not bring drinks with you into the show. There's nowhere to put them. Definitely bring a jacket to wear back on the boat. We got hot after dinner and we're glad we dressed lighter but we were very thankful we had jackets to put on for the boat ride back. On the way back the crew put on another silly dance strip tease type of show. It was cute and everyone, especially the really drunk folks, seemed to enjoy that. They do ask for tips at every stage despite you already paying the quite large ticket price, so keep that in mind. It seemed like the tips went into a communal pot. read more

Careful with this scam. They will promise you anything to get your money, but once you get there everything is different. We choose the dolphin encounter for our family trip. It was supposed to be the highlight of the day. We were told that since we had a two year old that my wife and I would be able to switch. I paid to be an observer with my 2 year old daughter as instructed. What that really means is you wait in the staging area with everyone else who didn't pay to be there. Told that we wouldn't be able to switch and could not even be on the dock to observe. Even though there are benches there right in front of the pool. Stated that it was for safety reasons. Meanwhile my daughter fell at the staging area while waiting and scraped her knee. Zero accommodation and they are super rude and condescending. The icing on the cake was the supposed trainer in charge named hector. All he did was complain about how little they get paid and how much money we "tourist" make. Oh and about how lazy we were and how he works long hours. That was pretty much the safety briefing. Steer clear of this business, they also have other sites in Cabo and other places so beware.
