My husband went in for a walk-in requesting a classic undercut. The barber didn't introduce himself and didn't understand what was requested. He spent an hour cutting his hair to end up with a high and tight haircut that was uneven all around with lines and patches of hair in the back and bizarrely short sideburns and a square shape. I had a scheduled men's cut with Dany. My least favorite part about going to a babershop is the time it takes to get a simple cut. Sometimes a barber will cut my hair to my liking and then like 15 minutes later finish up because of tinkering. I'm usually too embarrassed to say "that's good, you can be done now" because I don't want to insult their final touches, even if I don't feel like I need them. At Chicago Cuts Barbershop that was not the case. Dany was speedy and I haven't had a cut/fade this good in literal years! This is like a little known hideout barbershop. But I'd have to say I am pleased that I stumbled across this location. I was on my way to home depot and decided to stop and grab a bite to eat. While I was walking into chipotle which is located literally next door, I happen to see this location Chicago Cuts. I also happen to notice the sign stating hot shave. So with that being said, Thanksgiving is right around the corner and my semi growing beard needs to be trimmed up. So why not just go to a barber and get it done. ( Because I know I'm not that good ) plus, why not treat yourself : ) Once I had finished my meal at chipotle, I decided to swing by. So I did just that. When I came in I was greeted and asked what it was that I would like to have done. I told them I was just looking to be cleaned up. I was then seated and Danny was the man taking care of me. Let me tell you, I have never felt more appreciated and my needs met such as this. Danny was showing his appreciation and the level of respect for being a customer of theirs. He listened to every detail I asked and came through. So, if you are in the area. And need to get cleaned up for a party or some event you might be attending. I'd definitely recommend this spot. I tried this place out being relatively close to my residence. This was a complete mistake. First when I arrived I was told to come back in twenty minutes. When I came back I had to wait another 20 minutes before Nick came out from the back after being told to do so by another employee I wish the wait was the only problem. I can honestly say this is the worst haircut I ever got. When I came home my wife could not believe how bad my hair looked. Nick had managed to cut off my sideburn completely on one side above my ear straight across and the other side l had a small sideburn small. I told him to trim my hair on top and use a 5 on the sides. He did use a 5 and cut off mostly hair in the top. He was obviously in a hurry other employees were loud and unprofessional. I had to go to another salon to fix my hair in which the basically shaved my head with a zero If I could rate a zero I would. Please be cautious I don't think these guys have a license to cut hair. Just moved to the city and I needed a cut bad. Last cut I had was at a franchise branch and she butchered my hair. Now that it had grown out a bit I found this spot to go in hopes they'd get me looking presentable again. Was paired up with Manny, who I told what I wanted done to my hair. Now I don't know barber lingo or even hair lingo for that matter, but he was able to take whatever gibberish I told him and gave me the best cut I've ever had. This shop opened a while back and it took me some time to check them out but I wish I would've gone sooner. Every time I've gone has been a walk in and every time I'm in a chair pretty quick. Chicago cuts has been one of the most efficient and proffesional barbershops I've been to. As a cosmetologist myself, I cant thank these guys enough for their precise and impeccable service. I've never left unsatisfied and even when I walk-in everytime without an appointment, I've always been accommodated. I have my favorites, but quite honestly I can go to anybody and always leave more than satisfied. I will wait over a month for my haircut just so I can travel across town to this place because I've always had trust issues with other barbers. I'm so happy this place opened a few years ago.
