Our family has been attending Willow Creek North Shore since 2008…read more The North Shore campus of Willow Creek was the first church that we visited after leaving a very small church in Evanston and, because of Willow's size, we came with a lot of preconceived ideas, all of which turned out to be wrong. We were worried that we wouldn't be able to find a true community, we were worried that we wouldn't experience genuine faith and growth and we were worried that the transition would be difficult for our kids....boy were we wrong! Our years at Willow Creek have been formative for our family, for our children and for each of us individually. Although North Shore is a big church, about 2500 people attend every weekend, we found that, with some effort on our part, a church with that many attendees can actually have an intimate feel. Through our participation in community table groups (groups that meet monthly to have dinner, hang out and build relationships), small groups, church wide events and service projects we have built deep meaningful relationships with people in the community. During the normal ups and downs of life these are the people that have shown up for us and become like family. The church has also proven to be truly invested in people having a genuine, deep, transformational faith. The weekly teaching, which is often shown on a big screen and takes some getting used to, is pertinent on both global and personal levels. Rarely do I walk away feeling unaffected or unchanged by what I've heard and experienced. Classes are frequently offered to help us grow in areas ranging from marriage and family to faith and finances. The church also encourages serving locally and globally. At any given time there are serving opportunities as close as Evanston and as far as South Africa. This church and it's members are accepting of all people whether you consider yourself a Christian or not and it is really refreshing. Our families love to visit with us and even if they don't share the same faith that we do they always walk away feeling loved and accepted. One of the most vibrant parts of Willow Creek North Shore is it's student ministries. Our Kindergartener LOVES coming to church every week and she wouldn't miss it for the world. The really amazing thing is that our teenager feels EXACTLY the same way. The strong sense of community, acceptance and belonging that the kids have at Willow has proven to be a great source of strength and growth for them as they navigate all that comes with growing up. If you are looking for a church with deep community, excellent teaching and programs and an A+ children and student's program, give Willow Creek North Shore a try.

The acoustics, lighting, and comfort were perfect for the performers and audience alike. On the hottest day of the year to date, the AC worked great and we were all very comfortable. They have a large and close-by parking lot. They also have a nice room for a post recital reception. Our grand-darling's piano teacher really likes this church as her recital venue of choice. The Upper Commons is great for groups as it is a beautiful, bright and airy space with many windows and tall ceilings. There is a newly renovated area with open granite counters and a mini refrigerator with storage that is welcoming and useful for serving drinks and food that overlooks the seating area. Dave was a joy to work with in every way, from showing us the space and signing contracts to assisting with the set up of our tables and seating on the day of the event. When a mishap occurred on our end, he was very gracious about it. Everyone had a wonderful time at our event, and this venue was perfect.

The meals for the retreats are very good- great selection with a big salad bar, fruit, soup and then hot choices too. I babysit my 2 year old grand nephew on Sundays and he attends bridge kids. At first my niece was nervous, she's a single mom and protective. One visit to bridge kids and that child can't wait for next week. I appreciate the investment Bridge places in their children's ministry and have experienced first hand what a 2 year old can learn and how what he's learning has impacted his life. He talks about Jesus and has made friends. There truly is the exact right space for every person, adult, college, high school, grade school and little ones at this church.

Had been following James Ward Jr. on his radio program 'Cultural Conversations' and found his radio broadcast very uplifting, refreshing, unique. Never imagined I would be actually attending his church, like ever. If I had to describe him I'd say he's less of a traditional, run of the mill pastor and more like a motivational speaker / CEO very cool guy. Very real, down to earth, authentic atmosphere. James Ward jr. offers an almost decadent buffet of powerful messages that stirs you and boosts you out of your comfort zone and into actualizing your faith + prayer life, not just being a sideline Christian. When we moved to Winnetka eleven years ago, we were looking for a church that felt like a…read morecommunity, had a great youth program to help us raise our two kids to be morally strong, and a pastor that inspired us. We found all of those things at WPC and became official members a year later. This is a church that inspires us to action and has given us ways to teach our kids about helping the homeless, hungry, and lonely in the north shore. The focus isn't so much on the church as a building, but as a group of people who can make a difference. During quarantine, the weekly service has been broadcast on Vimeo so our family still has a routine each week for some spiritual reflection together.
