After years of meaning to stop in, we finally did. We were both so impressed. Although, much of their food doesn't fit the flavor profile I prefer, the selection was impressive. The food we did purchase (including a sandwich that was excellent, and full of meat) was all of great quality. Also, the sausage sandwich was $9.99. That's a ridiculously good Price. But, I have to say, the customer service was insane. They couldn't not have been more helpful, pleasant, or knowledgeable. You really should go. It was a pleasure to shop there. read more

The name is misleading. I was expecting to be able to fine giardiniera here. I was very wrong. While the store is called "Chicago," it is really a European market, I believe mostly Polish foods. Having gotten that out of the way, the selection was great, and the deli looked great. I didn't get anything on this trip as I was expecting something completely different, but I will be back to try to deli as the menu looked great. read more

This place is SO INSANELY GOOD. I don't normally even *like* sausages that much but I am still fantasizing about the kielbasa (I'm sorry that sounded dirty, but it's true!). I ordered two different kinds, but both were great. Their handmade frozen pierogis were some of the best I've had (and I lived in Buffalo, NY, which has a huge Polish-American community - guess the Chicagoans just do it better!). The employees were speaking Polish, so I'm going f to go ahead and guess everything was pretty authentic. I also bought awesome looking egg noodles, mustard, a bunch of pickled vegetables, some Polish beer, and bomb horseradish. This place is a half hour from where I live but I know I'm going to be back soon.m! read more

We stopped into the store to pick up some Kielbasa and cheese for snacks to have for my mom's birthday and ended up spending nearly 45 minutes shopping and talking with the owner Vic. He and the other staff were very outgoing, gracious and generous with their time as well as their products. They allowed us to taste a number of their products and, suffice it to say, we bought more than we had intended. Will definitely go back. read more

We are so excited for Christmas to taste "normal" thanks to Chicago Market! I have been trying to find the authentic Polish cuisine my mother-in-law makes for Christmas since relocating to CO from Michigan. I called them today (two days before Christmas) as my final effort to avoid once again having to attempt everything from scratch (it was not pretty last year...) A very kind woman picked up the phone and told me they did sell them, but they only had a few left. She said she'd set some aside and I jumped in the car with one of my kiddos. Though this place is 40 min from our house, we will be there regularly. Yummy food, incredibly kind people - what more could you ask for?!?! Super fun little market, I wish I knew more about Polish food! They have a ton of interesting products and prepared foods. I'm excited to go back. Also, their $7.99 Polish Sandwich is dynamite! Super super simple--chewy bread, spicy mustard, cheese and ham and a sausage. It's crazy good and crazy simple. Sometimes less is more as is the case here. Totally recommend. I've been coming here for a few years for a sandwich and some really tasty lunchmeats like I had as a kid in Holland. This place although Polish has all the meats that remind me of my childhood. Christine is so personable as are all the people that work there. I now live 4hrs away in Nebraska but if I have even the slightest excuse to drive down to the Denver area my first stop will be Chicago Market. I was absolutely blown away by the experience I had at Chicago Market! My partner (Joey) is 100% Polish and hasn't had authentic Polish food like her family cooked since moving to Denver 22 years ago. To start a new tradition, Joey & I simply wanted to pick up fresh golumpki for our Polish New Year celebration. I looked on Yelp & found Chicago Market, and I had no idea what treat we were in for! Chicago Market is a family owned business that imports many Polish & eastern European products to provide fresh to the Denver community. When I called NYE morning & spoke with Vic, he advised they'd have fresh golumpki (Polish cabbage rolls) out the oven around 2pm... so we planned our day around it! They closed at 3 so when we arrived at 2:15, we were conscious of their time. The store is full of European groceries & authentic frozen goods (Polish sausage, bread, pierogis, cheeses, meats, kraut, etc). They even have a deli in back where they can cut fresh meat & cheese for you by the pound, and they serve fresh sauerkraut & golumpki too! Soooo many authentic imported Polish & eastern European treats here... best selection Joey has seen since leaving home. The most amazing part of this place was the warm welcome we received from Vic & his friends/family (notably Yola & Kristina). They gave us a sample of 3 different kinds of Polish sausage (kielbasa), and I was blown away by the differences in each - all so good! They also let us try the smoked Polish cheese before buying some too.. and even a few samples of warm Polish beer with cloves & honey in it. Never had it before & I am soooo a fan! We hung out with them for an hour - amongst many locals in the store celebrating the end of 2020. Vic even gave us a loaf of real Polish bread to take & bake at home! In addition to the golumpki, sausages, cheeses & pierogis, we also snagged some jams, ginger syrup, whiskey chocolates, & Polish pickles. The best part? We instantly felt part of their family, and it was beautiful. It was such a nostalgic experience for Joey, and such a warm Polish welcome for me.... one I will never forget. Thank you Vic & friends for your hospitality, well wishes & friendship. Joey needed that more than you know! All in all, the experience here was top notch. The deli is so fresh, their homemade pierogi were delectable, and it's all so authentic. And, if you're lucky, you'll leave with a warm Polish experience like we did. I still can't stop coming in to this market. The staff are so loving and kind, and the food is all very authentic. Once you've had real kraut (Cracovia) imported from Poland, no others taste right. Not only are the ladies that work there awesome, but you've got to try the Pickle Soup! I know that may sound odd to some, but let me tell you it is delicious! It is made fresh, you can buy hot or you can buy it frozen to have at a later date. And, not only can you try their Pickle Soup before you buy it, but you can also ask for a taste of any of their fresh meats and cheeses, which are also tasty! The market also has many Polish canned and jarred food goods, desserts and frozen items, as well as a small section of gifts in their case. Their hand painted, wooden Easter Eggs were a fun gift to giveaway to family this holiday. Also, both ladies are extremely knowledgeable, so if you are trying to make a certain Eastern European recipe and need a specific ingredient, don't hesitate to ask them. Phenomenal is all I can say. I stumbled across Chicago market when I saw the pierogies sign out front. I went is and was greeted by Kristina, who is the owners sister. She was so kind and enthusiastic about all of the food. I bought pierogies, cakes, and a sandwich. Oh man the sandwich is awesome. The lady in front of me in line had 2 and I asked what they were, she said you have to get one. So I did, best sandwich in Denver. Stumbled onto Chicago Market and went in to investigate. Met Nick who immediately began to slice up some samples of his smoky smorgasbord fresh off the truck from Chicago. The polish sausages and smoked pork cuts were some of the best I ever had. I planned to get some authentic kraut and left with a new appreciation of polish food and a selection of fine charcuterie. And by sheer luck it was Fat Tuesday and I got a batch of pacziki. Heated them in the toaster oven at home and they were incredible. A true Denver asset! And I did not even get to the Pirogies.
