This hotel was a one night stay for us on our Fall 2024 road trip. My wife picked this hotel and said that we are staying in Chicago. This is a nice property located in Schaumburg, about 30 miles away from Chicago. The area was nice with a lake behind the property. If you drive a little, there are lots of shops and restaurants in the area. Our room was exactly what we wanted with a king bed. The room had a nice sofa and lots of workspace. The bathroom was adequate and had the usual Marriott special soap, shampoo and conditioner. This property has a nice M Lounge for Platinum Elite and above Bonvoy members on the ground floor open 24 hours a day for you to get canned soda and water. Breakfast is served in the morning. Hors doerves and desserts are served in the Evening. The woman who served me in the M Club was super nice. Their gym in adequate with treadmills, ellipticals and weights. Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes are available for you to clean up the machine. The gym was able to give me a good workout. A pool and hot tub are available. It was a nice hotel. I liked it. I would've liked it more if it was in Chicago.

Great location for airport proximity and dinner options. Shopping is good as well in area. Rooms were in good shape and staff was great. M Club lounge is large and well kept. Lobby bar was nice and festive. Diverse seating options and TVs.

I stayed here recently for a weekend trip and had a wonderful time. The check-in process was seamless, no issues parking, and the hotel is beautiful! It's airy and open when you walk in, but lots of pockets to focus on work or read. My room was so lovely and perfect for me. I had everything I needed and I slept so well. No issues with noise despite my room facing the expressway. Nice black out curtains as well. The staff was extremely attentive for all meals I had at the bar or in the dining room for breakfast lunch or dinner. My only request is that the breakfast menu available in room also be available in the dining room. While the food was good, there are some improvements that could be made to elevate the dishes - like a sauce to accompany chicken and salsa that's not from a jar. The fitness center and pool were wonderful as well - I used both multiple times. And check out was seamless too! Can't wait to come here again.

Trash and flies in the "prestigious" M Lounge.

Room was fine, but service and M Lounge TERRIBLE! Literally flies buzzing around the trash and coffee areas. No coffee, no service, nothing. Front desk staff was unconcerned and the manager couldn't be bothered to come talk with another guest and me. As a Titanium member, I'm appalled. And, they sent me to the bar where there was supposed to be coffee, after I had to ask for a voucher to pay for it (seriously?!) and it was closed. I just left. Awful!

Well, I went and got the typical scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and a bandanna. While this location offers the same breakfast items as the Hampton Inn and Embassy Suites, at this Garden Inn location, you have to pay $16.80. They had a man go around filling your coffee mug and getting your food, but again, it's the standard free breakfast items you'd find at other Hilton chains, which explains why we met up and got the items ourselves. Needless to say, the next morning, I went to a local place for breakfast and paid less than $10.00. Next, I checked in late Monday and went to Jewel Osco for work items: a case of water and snacks to keep my team focused and uplifted. Well, after returning, I found out that a water main had broken, flooding some lower-level rooms, and that the fire marshal had shut down the elevators. The manager got two staff members to help me with my grocery bags since I was on the third floor. He told me that he could book me into another hotel. Still, if anyone knows anything about the Chicagoland area, the bedbug capital of the US, it is Chicago, followed by Cleveland and Detroit. So, no, without researching, I'm not moving to another hotel. Besides, has anyone read my Embassy Suites review that mentioned black mold being painted over? By Wednesday, the elevator still wasn't working when I checked out. It was a pain bringing down my hug roller bags, computer bag, and tools, but at least I'm not bringing critters with me. The final issue was that the showerhead in the bathroom was pointed directly at the toilet, so the entire floor got soaked and became a slip hazard. Someone obviously didn't think that through! But wait, one more issue, the reading lamp didn't work; that was close to my bed. On a good note, the staff were friendly, and the hotel was clean, so three out of five stars.

The hotel entrance after the revolving doors is stunning. I went to my co-workers hotel room to drop off my gear and it was very clean. Spacious rooms and the bathroom mirror had an embedded TV. We headed to breakfast where the food was in the hallway and the dining was in the big event room where main speakers were going to be. The room where we had the presentation fit around 30 people in round tables. The AV guy came in to check if we were all tested and ready to go which was all set! In between sessions, the coffee area was packed with coffee, tea, water and soda. The only bad part, there was another conference and you had to pass through this area for the other conference and they were taking our coffee, drinks, etc. The venue finally out signs. We had a formal dinner but the staff seemed very rushed in everything. Before my co-worker was finished eating they were already asking him if he was finished and wanting dessert. I like customer service but no need to rush people. Overall, the place is great, the venue is beatiful and it was a positive experience.

The next 2 days there was a breakfast buffet for the wedding party which included scrambled eggs with cheese, scrambled eggs with veggies, roasted potatoes, fruit, bread, coffee. It was pretty generic tasting. Also to top it off the pool was being renovated so the kids couldn't enjoy that. I also heard many of the wedding guests were charged extra on checkout. At one point this woman grabbed my Great pyrenees and pinned him down scaring both me and my puppy. I should have reported it to the Schaumburg police department and I regret not doing so. The next day I checked out and instead of the hotel asking this woman to leave immediately I was told by another guest that they allowed this dangerous woman to remain longer till she found alternative housing option. Apparently she was there because her house burnt down. Still the staff here never handled it properly and I may relay this information to corporate. It is not okay to allow one guest to frighten and physically accost your other paying guests. For these reasons I'm finally sharing my experience. This hotel is not cheap.
