As far as Marriott hotels go, I found this one to be in the middle of the pack. That said, I was only here for one night so I didn't get to partake in their lounge experience or other amenities, so my review is purely around my room. The Pros: it was quiet for an airport property, the water had good pressure, the staff was friendly and the bed was comfortable. The cons: the bathroom was right and the towels were like sandpaper, the Wifi didn't work and their phone line for their airport shuttle went unanswered. read more

This is not a new hotel but other than the size of the rooms--definitely not suites--you wouldn't know it. They have a wonderful fitness facility and indoor and outdoor pools, plus an in-house fine dining restaurant that offers room service (not all hotels returned to room service post-covid) albeit that the room service version of the menu is a subset of the dine in version, and a full bar in the lobby. The hotel is spacious and is suitable for corporate meetings and smaller non-expo type conventions, particularly given its proximity to the airport and downtown Chicago. read more

I had a bad experience at another hotel while visiting Chicago for a basketball tournament and thankfully was able to find another hotel quickly. Upon checking in, staff member Jared was great. He was sympathetic to what I went through at the other hotel and unexpectedly gave us an upgraded junior suite and a parking pass for our stay there at the hotel. People do not have to be kind to you and I'm extremely grateful for Jared being so kind to my family and I. The room was a total 360 from the other hotel room. It was spacious, clean, comfortable. After a long and stressful travel day at O'Hare airport, delays after delays and then canceled due to weather, when we arrived to this Marriott we were tired and stressed out, especially because I accidentally booked three rooms instead of one. Rey, the wonderful front desk attendant made our night turn around! He was positive, helpful, bubbly, humorous, and welcoming. He had a lot on his plate with the long line of stressed out guests, but he still made a point to make us feel relaxed and welcome. My flight was cancelled and I wanted to stay at a place I thought would be better than some of the smaller, less expensive hotels in the area. BIG MISTAKE! The first room smelled like it had a dead body in the closet, I was moved to another room. Arrived at the next room which seemed like 3 city blocks away from the cadaver room and my key didn't work. Anther two blocks to the lobby only to be sent to the last room: N 121. One of my biggest pet peeves when staying at a hotel is seeing hair that clearly isn't mine anywhere in the room.....there were strands of hair on the bathroom walls, hair at the little coffee station on a desk, dusty tables; I was disgusted!!!! After spending hours at the airport I didn't have the energy to go back to the front desk a 4th time!! I checked the bed, thank you Jesus, no hair. Took a shower in the hairy shower stall avoiding contact with walls, dusted the space for my clothes and slept. If you're looking for a place that smells good, clean, dust free and no stray hairs, THIS IS NOT IT! You'd be better off booking a room at a hostel! Never going back there! read more

Stayed a night for a board meeting. The room was a decent size. The bed was fabulous. Staff were very friendly. The fitness room and pool were excellent. The hotel matched all the criteria I was looking for and it was available for a reasonable price so I booked it.  After I booked it, I called to confirm the details of the shuttle and the service I received was not great; I thought it was a one-off but actually that was the type of service I was going to receive throughout my stay. My family arrived before me and even though we had called to confirm the airport pickup and shuttle times, we were told 'just call when you arrive and the shuttle will be there'.  Every time we asked we got a different response - one person said the shuttle ran on a schedule and another said that it was upon request.  We tried taking the shuttle three times - once from the airport, once to the airport, and once again to the airport and each time it was EXTREMELY delayed and/or it was a guesstimate as to when it would actually go.  After that, we stopped using the shuttle at all. The hotel is located about 10 minutes away from the airport and is located across the highway from the Rosemount train station.  The hotel looks like it was built in the 1950's with a high hotel and a huge parking lot.   You have to cross the huge parking lot and walk across the highway on a pedestrian bridge to access the train - its not bad during the day but can be a little sketchy at night.  There are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance and there are lots of delivery options available as well (we did a delivery option and when it was delivered to the hotel, they were told to leave it on the table in the lobby.  We went down to pick it up and no one confirmed to ensure it was our order so you can pick up any order you want). The lobby was designed in a circular fashion with the check-in desks to the left, the bar and restaurant straight ahead, the elevators to the room on the right, and the concierge desk also on the right.  We checked-in and were not given any information and in fact the attendant could not have cared less (even though there was no one behind us).  We received our key and proceeded to our room.  Even though the area for the hotel was large and the hotel building looked large, the rooms were smaller than I expected.  As you entered, there was a bathroom on the right and a closet on the left side.  The bathroom was standard and contained a sink, a toilet and a bathtub - the only negative about the hotel was the minimal space.  The closet was also a standard hotel closet and contained shelves, a place to hang clothes, an iron and ironing board, as well as a safe.  Further into the room, on the right side were the 2 double beds with a nightstand in the middle.  The beds were decent and provided a good nights sleep - again the space between the beds were tighter than anticipated.  In front of the beds was a chest with a drawers on the bottom and a TV on top.  Next to that was a desk on wheels so you can move the desk around the room.  Along the wall were windows which were a nice addition as it allowed light to come in and make the room feel brighter and bigger.  In between the beds and the window was an armchair and lamp - it was a nice addition but there was not enough space for all the furniture so it felt cramped. Amenities in the hotel included restaurants, fitness center, a concierge, wifi, and airport shuttle.  I already talked about the poor service regarding the airport shuttle, and due to the limited time I did not have time to try out the other amenities.  I did try the wifi but it was not strong and kept dropping; it was so bad that for work I used my own hotspot versus the hotels wifi.  Overall, it was a disappointing stay at the hotel.  The only positives were easy access to transportation and easy access to services but everything else from customer service to room quality was negative. read more

This visit was very bad experience. There was a lot of confusion with payment. I have stayed at this location in the past and my preferred payment method was not an issue. Poor communication. Secondly, when I arrived one of the rooms were not ready and I had to wait 3 hours with 6 kids. 1 baby, 1 toddler. Unacceptable. Thirdly, after having waited so long when I get ready to get in the bed I pull back to covers to see the footing of the bed was dirty, i have pictures. So that mean the sheets were not even change after a 3 hr delay waiting for my room. I will be posting pictures shortly read more

We had reservations for a Marriott Mag Mile which is where we need to be. When we went to check in at 1:30am, we were told they didn't have a room for us despite us having reservations, a confirmation number and being Titanium Elite tiered customers. This went on until we got a hold of this hotel around 4:30am. They said we could check in at 6am. What a relief! Ubered over and we were able to check in around 5:40am! Excellent customer service at the front desk. He told us about breakfast at 6am, so we decided to stay up for it as we'd likely need to sleep in. Breakfast was okay. Pretty much the quality you expect from a continental hotel breakfast. The spread looked nice and the person working it alone did a great job. I beleive this may be a concierge area for certain tier members, not everyone. The room was clean but could probably use some updating. I'm just happy they not only booked us a room but let us check in so early after being awake all night. I have NOTHING nice to say about the customer service we didn't receive when we called the Marriott phone number for help. We called directly and got a room here, but they couldn't figure that out. No apologies for overbooking and giving our room away. Avoid the Aloft Mag Mike downtown. The only bummer about this hotel is we'll need to leave early for Uber to get us through traffic back and forth to downtown for a conference and the added expense. Not this hotel's fault. read more

I don't often review hotels on Yelp; however, the service at the Marriott Chicago O'Hare was terrific. They provided a complimentary upgrade to a very large suite, with a dining table for 6 or 8, several sofas, coffee tables, extremely large space, separate bedroom and bathroom. My regret is that I really had little use for the space. I arrived around 9 p.m. and was awake and ready to depart by 5 a.m., although I stayed and had breakfast at 6:30 a.m. The staff at the restaurant / bar where I sat and worked for about 3 hours was absolutely terrific. They constantly re-filled my water glass and were very friendly and kept filling my water even after they closed as they cleaned and closed-up for the night. The food was good as well. I had the salmon entree for dinner, as well as a salad. I didn't have any drinks or wine, so I can't comment on these items, but the staff appeared to be fast and efficient as they served customers. Mid-evening, a large group arrived at the hotel, due to a canceled flight, and swarmed the check-in counters as well as the bar area. One man in the check-in line was screaming at staff for no obvious reason and the hotel staff handled the situation flawlessly. The bar staff easily handled the sudden flood of customers. One issue that I did have which is, unfortunately, rather consistent throughout the Marriott hotel brand, is that the room would not cool to a comfortable level. despite having the a/c on cool and 65 or so degrees, the room seemed to get hot....perhaps the unit froze....as the outdoor temps were considerably cooler, I turned off the unit about 3 a.m., and found the room getting cooler, although still not as cool as I like. Breakfast at 6:30 was nice. As they opened at 6:30 a.m., there was not a hostess at the front of the restaurant, so I simply chose a table and sat down and was immediately greeted by a server. It would be nice if they had someone at the restaurant entrance to direct and seat guests. The buffet had a large selection of traditional breakfast items and fruits, etc. Everything but the eggs were good. The eggs were the often typical eggs, apparently re-heated, broken almost as small as peas, with a poor texture and not so great flavor. Not sure if these were prepared far ahead of time or are bagged and reheated Sysco or similar eggs. Anyway, eggs like these are awful and should not be served. The breakfast wasn't cheap; however, the price wasn't unexpected for a hotel near a large airport near a large City such as Chicago. The service at the Marriott Chicago O'Hare was terrific and was and is an example of excellent hotel service, unlike the consistently poor, absolutely horrible service that I receive at the Odessa (Texas) Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. I am giving the hotel 4 stars because of the crappy breakfast eggs and mostly due to the cooling issue in the room, otherwise, I'd give it 5 stars. The rating considers that this is an older property, next to an airport, with a wide range of travelers in and out. If you're looking for something a bit more luxurious, you'll need to head into Chicago. Otherwise, for me, this was a great spot, and a reminder that the Marriott experience can be a good one....something that escapes me each time I stay at the Odessa, Texas Marriott which has yet to figure out how to provide good, acceptable customer service. read more

Reviews are correct, classic airport hotel but worse. Ice machine and pop machine on tenth floor did not work. We told front desk and she gave us some ice in cups. Only one coffee machine worked in the concierge lounge which caused me to wait 10-15 minutes for a coffee. We tried to use printer in the concierge lounge but it didn't work. We kept getting an error because there was no ink. We went to the business center and this printer was taken apart by someone else. We put it back together and was able to get it to print if we held the paper tray button up. Concierge lounge was closed on the weekends. Quite a lot of things not working. Saw people going in the open exit gate to get around paying the parking fee. Our room wasn't serviced at all in three days. I wish we would have been told this when we checked in. Luckily, we took two towels off the cart in case our room wasn't serviced. My Husband tried to get a rum and coke at 10:45 and was told he had to wait until 11am. He was very upset that he was charged $16.50 which was more than an entire bottle of rum. I inquired at checkout to make sure I got reduced parking rate for conference. She said it was. Got home and looked at receipt. Nope. Actually put this all in an email when I got the survey inquiry. Haven't heard from anybody. No apology. No nothing. read more

The restaurant buffet downstairs and even in the M Club for breakfast was not presented in a professional manner! Eggs were well done and buffet choices were not well stocked! We picked this hotel because they had parking and airport shuttle included in the price. After a very long day of international travel, the shuttle service was chaos. Never enough room to take our family of 4 with only carry on. It was well over an hour and 2 bumped shuttles before we got a turn. We knew the service was every 30 minutes but expected to get on the first one when it arrived. If you're looking for a place with parking and shuttles we saw the Hilton one go by at least 4-5 times while we stood there and waited. Would never recommend this option. read more

They have a 24 hour fitness facility and a gorgeous pool. The lobby is gorgeous, patterned after a higher end hotel. It is overwhelmingly conveniently located next to the train. Cons: - My bed totally lacked support - I need a firm mattress. The second day I awoke with back spasms - a pinched nerve in my lower back - this typically happens to me when I get a mushy or overly soft mattress. - The rooms still have older analog style, CRT-based TVs - c'mon guys - it's time to switch the rooms over to HD TV and HD service. - The hotel is just a few minutes from Chicago O'Hare International Airport - and is directly in the path of the airport. As such - a lot of airplanes fly directly over the hotel - and fairly low - noise could be an issue depending on where your room is. Hotel restaurant was a terrible experience. Waiter told our party he could split up the bill and then refused when it was time to pay. Made it incredibly difficult with a large party after he said it was no problem. And of course he tipped himself 20% no problem. Service was definitely NOT 20% worthy!! Overpriced food and drinks. On the cusp of remodeled, there is still noise to be heard. Feather free rooms are slow to come by. I checked in at 10 and was nearly noon to get a room and not on the concierge floor, but that was OK. Gym was nice and 24 hour, awesome. The concierge lounge was nice, small but well stocked. It opens to the minute so don't arrive early or plan to stay late. Food during my conference was good, but I walked passed the newly remodeled Marriott burger in the restaurant and it looks great. The bread and meat have been upgraded for the first time ever, as far as I know. it's a chain wide upgrade so I'll try it at my next Marriott moment. read more

I stayed here for 3 nights during a wedding- wedding was also held at the venue but this review is for my stay. The front desk was super friendly and helpful. We called in the night before for early check-in and they were able to accommodate this. I had a tricky situation with a car, and again, the front desk was helpful & flexible (long story short, I was borrowing someone's car and he was coming to pick it up so I had to leave keys at front desk). The rooms were clean as were the bathrooms. The bathrooms were pretty small, but what else do you expect. Hangers were plentiful and the closet was pretty big. Room service folks were very nice. The one thing was that the bar closed somewhat early, 11:30 I believe- we did wish it stayed open later. Free shuttle to the airport runs every thirty minutes, and it's a 15 min ride or so- very straightforward. read more

Was rather disappointed by this stay - I typically stay with Loews, however I wanted to try out Marriott this time round and found myself regretting the decision. The room was unclean and I found some pretty big hair pins(?) and a questionable ball that looked like dried gum. It was the first thing I noticed as I entered the room, so I'm not sure how housekeeping missed it. I also called guest services for a dental kit, and it took an hour for them to bring it up (and this was at 2am). They did tell me they were pretty busy, but I simply cannot fathom the amount of time needed to just bring up one dental kit. When housekeeping finally brought the stuff up to me, he looked very impatient and annoyed, and brusquely handed the stuff without saying a word. On another note my experience at checkin/checkout was good and welcoming. The process was efficient and I definitely appreciated that. Management definitely needs to look more into streamlining the housekeeping service and the employees. I'd rather not stay at a hotel that gives me attitude when I ask for a basic amenity (and the dirty room), especially given the Marriott's brand name. read more

Please DO NOT have your wedding here. I Urge you not to go through the STRESS we went through on my relatives big day. They screwed us over big time at my relatives wedding. We paid for premium top shelf open bar for the night with 4 bartenders. At 10 PM there was only one bartender serving only Beer and Jack Daniels. The bar was crowded and my guests had a horrible time getting drinks. The bride and groom asked the person in charge and she was clueless about the contract. This review is for the conference center as I am local, so I did not need to stay overnight, but I did attend a patient educational conference today at this Marriott near O'Hare. My only complaint is that the hotel charged $11 for me and the other patients and our medical providers to park in their lot. I thought they might validate to avoid having to pay the hotel parking fee, but I was told $11 IS the cheap rate. I went home sick after 2 hours but still had to pay the full $11 fee. Aside from the parking fee, the conference facilities are really very lovely. Very posh for a conference center. Everything was new, bright, very clean and modern. Great lighting and sound. Nice restrooms. We took over the entire conference space and it was spacious, comfortable, good temperature, with glass bottled water and space to enjoy a catered lunch. Very nice. read more

Ever since I listed that that Biggie track, from his album "Life After Death" where he mentioned the Marriott, I've always wanted to stay in one. I recently had the opportunity to do so, and the Marriott has made me a fan! It was my first time ever at one, and it won't be the last. My girlfriend and I stayed at this O'Hare location for a couple of nights, and while pricey, it was definitely worth the money. Positives: +Oh-so plush carpet. +Gorgeous bathroom that included a gigantic shower-head that made me feel like I was washing myself in the rain. Ha! +Half bathroom, in addition to the gorgeous full. +Main bathroom included marble floors. +Decently sized desk and comfy chair, perfect for work. +Great couch, great for watching the large HD TV. +Mini-fridge, but one that's a bit more advanced than the ones found in college dorm rooms. Other awesome things: -Hotel's interior is drastically much more beautiful than its dingy exterior. -No-nonsense staff members that do their job very well! -Although the concierge service and internet is an additional $50 per night, it's totally worth it. The concierge room alone is awesome, and you can feast all you want morning, noon, and night. Their breakfast has plenty, and for the night time, I highly suggest indulging in some macaroons. The internet is somewhat solid, and has its occasional hiccups. Things that could be improved: -Not the comfiest mattress, but decent. -Just okay comforter. -In the lobby hallway by the elevators, I grabbed a cup of water that included cucumber and tried to sneak myself through the elevator doors before it closed. Maybe the sensors are broken, but the elevator doors literally smashed my shoulders and didn't retract fast enough as you would expect! Haha. I'm a strong and grown man, so whatever, but I can imagine some kids getting seriously hurt. I received some minor bruises. My water only slightly spilled, though. I hope those sensors can be fixed! All-in-all, if I ever returned to Chicago-land, I wouldn't hesitate to stay again at this fantastic hotel. read more

This was the place I stayed during my trip to the Windy City. Most Marriott locations set high standards for hotels and this was no exception. They have all the amenities you need (exercise room, pool, restaurant, bar/lounge, conference rooms, etc.). You do have to pay for Internet which is robbery unless you're a rewards member. But aside from that, it's a nice hotel that will give you a good nights rest and its close to the CTA so you can explore the city since you'll be spending most of your time there anyway. read more

This Marriott defies the idea of a "near-the-airport" hotel. Due to its location and price, it hits all the marks extremely well. The staff is courteous, fun and super helpful. Every inch of this place is superiorly clean. The beds are crazy comfy, the rooms are well stocked and the customer service surpasses expectations. The rooms have tons of outlets, full length mirror, bath robe, nice shower heads, great desk, and (my favorite amenity of all time) Netflix and Hulu on the TV!!!! My only beef with the beds is that the pillows are a little small. I asked for a toothbrush kit the first night and got one which consisted of a toothbrush and tiny toothpaste wrapped in plastic contained inside a car board box. I needed a second on the next day and when I opened it I found the toothbrush out of the plastic and the toothpaste missing. Strange. The lobby store is well stocked, the on-site restaurant is decent enough for quick bites and room service and the location is great for O'Hare, but pretty remote for anything else. I was also here for a conference and the catering staff was very helpful and the food was really yummy for this level of hotel. If this place is in your price range, you will be happy with your stay. read more

My husband and I stayed there for a funeral in Park Ridge, IL, and besides the convenience, the staff was very welcoming. We especially appreciated Omar, the bellman, and Miriam, at reception. The only downside was the difficulty of using the parking gates - in and out - all the time! So goes digital entry & exit. However, we had received a free pass to do so, so no worries anyway.
