Once again, I've taken the time to be THE FIRST reviewer and put a place on the Yelp map. It takes…read morea lil extra care and unselfishness, and tho my exs thought I was the selfish one, it was all projection by them. I have volunteered more, did more for humanity, and in my work treated people better than they ever did or will and I would've done anything for them but obviously they wouldn't for me. Geek Inc Bartlett has some hidden gems in toys, and they have better prices than the nearby Carol Stream store. In fact, often HALF the cost of the main store in Carol Stream. So check this place out. THere's also alot of comics to dig through if that's your thing. Every Free Comic Book Day I find something like cheap AF Star Trek The Next Generation figures, even tho this year I found the best piece at the Carol Stream store lol, a Cobra vehicle. What a weird area these NW burbs are. There are literally 2 Issa's Venezuelan Restaurants and 2 Geek Inc comic stores in these towns. I want 2 smoked BBQ places next. Then I'll be in heaven.

I tried the phone # listed and got an automated response says there's a new number, but didn't supply it. It was the closest shop to me and had a great staff and owner. They were always generous with their time and expertise. I will miss them if permanently closed.

This shop is AMAZING! I stopped by here while tooling around shops in the west and northwest burbs,…read moreand I was astonished by the selection of newer back issues. These guys had prints that I haven't been able to locate at other shops, and everything was extremely well organized. Books were in great condition, and the staff were so kind and helpful. Very much a "reader's" comic shop, but they have tables set up for your D&D game or Magic or really whatever your fancy is. Best of all, the prices are fair, and you'd be hard pressed to find a better value in the area. I'll definitely be back. I would die for more time to dig through their back issues.

First, their store credit policy makes no sense: you can't use it on "premium" items, which defeats the purpose of having store credit at all. On top of that, when I sold them some premium Magic: The Gathering cards, the prices I was given were for the wrong versions. Because I had my three kids with me at the time, I didn't notice until later, but it felt dishonest and not worth the argument. What bothered me most, though, was how they treated me as a newer customer. I stood waiting for about 15 minutes with my kids while staff ignored me to casually chat and eat with tournament patrons who weren't even doing business at the time. They had recognized me, but still dismissed me while I was clearly trying to complete a transaction. It made me feel like my time -- and my business -- weren't valued. Most of the staff were nice, but the older bald gentleman was rude and dismissive, which really stood out. Between the poor credit rules, the card pricing issue, and the way I was treated as a customer, I can't recommend Thunder Comics. If they want to encourage more sales and playtime in their store, they should focus more on being fair, welcoming, and attentive -- especially to new customers

This shop is amazing ! Jason the owner does it all himself so sometimes he has to close the shop…read morefor a small amount of time to take of of things like eating and small shop maintenance. But Jason is a pretty friendly guy, will order what you need, that 25% off every day for trades is amazing when I don't see other shops doing that at all ! Selection is newer books (so if you are looking for back issues from 20 years ago or older those he doesn't have) and the value is really a great bang for your Bucks !!! Highly recommended !!

Even though he was willing to open them for me, I tend to buy dozens at a time and could potentially be at the register for 30 min while he opens them for me. I'm not looking for perfect customer service but there's a way to talk to people. He wasn't rude but had the personality of a rock. I'm in my 50's and don't appreciate being treated like a child. Put up signage if you don't want people to open the books. And how about a break it or buy it policy? Even though I handle the books better than most store owners, if I damage the book while examining it, I'll pay for it. You already got cameras on me so what's the problem. I won't be back. (Replying to the owner's reply: A better response would have been, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience and misunderstanding. I'll take your thoughts into consideration and strive to create a better experience for my customers. I appreciate your visiting my store and I hope that you have a more positive experience if you ever return." Now THAT would win my business.
