If I had to review this library two years ago I would have only have been able to give it two stars. For the longest time this place really didn't have the greatest selection or the most modern facilities. They recently passed a referendum to expand the library and now they have nearly doubled in size with their new construction. They now have a huge selection and it is really updated now. the people that they have working here are nothing less than helpful and always really friendly.

She was reprehending my 1yr old for moving the chairs. My children were not loud, we not making a mess. They did not close for another 45mins. I was on my cell but was rudely told its not allowed. Every time I go to the registration center, I can overhear her angrily yelling or talking to students with a harsh attitude. The other day I was registering for a class and next to me she was 'helping' a student register for a class who was being completely polite, and clearly struggled with his English. For absolutely no reason she just starts yelling at him and talking to him in a way that I found absolutely disgusting. This young man came out of his way to come inside this school to seek your help THAT YOU GET PAID TO DO and she was speaking to him as if he knocked on her door at 3AM asking for help. I was so upset for him and I really wanted to give her a piece of my mind. I understand some people have to work but there is no excuse for you to go about your life every single day treating people so rudely, she needs to find a job that doesn't involve communication because clearly she doesn't know how to speak to others. I am truly going to report her to the administration the next time I am at the building.

My friends will call me and ask....what are you doing today? My responses have varied from going to a pajama party to a carnival to seeing live animals to a puppet show to like making lollipop bouquets and spaceships. They ask how much it costs, I say it's free! Can we come? Ohhhh...sorry.... you have to be a member of our library. Yup, they organize some pretty awesome stuff for the kids to do. My kids really love coming here. Currently we are enrolled in the Summer Reading Program and it's incredible to see how excited they get to read. My 7 year old is doing chapter books (required to read 2 a week), my 3 & 1 year olds are doing picture books (required to be read 5 books a week.) They track their books and we go to the library to log them. Don't think they let you just slide by without reading. You have to go into the library, ask for your file and then one of the student volunteer will drill you with questions about the books you read. They clearly can tell who has read and who has not. It's cute to see my 7 and 3 year old work together to make sure they have completed their reading requirements and prep for being asked questions on the books they read. If you successfully read your books for the week, you get entered into the raffle for some cool prizes, a ticket to attend the library summer carnival & earn a prize for that week. The prizes are pretty cool actually, so far they have earned tickets to the Dupage Children's Museum and Roaring Waters Waterpark. Not bad prizes at all! I can go on and on about the children's programs. I can tell you about which ones we have done in the past and which ones they have loved...but the point is, if you live in Burbank and have kids...sign them up for the programs at Prairie Trails Library! They will have a blast.

She helped me solve all of the issues and misinformation I was previously given and I was squared away and ready to go within a few hours. She even printed some documents for free for my troubles. Please hire more people like her. Everyone that comes to the courthouse has varying reasons for being there but all should be treated with decency and respect. A little kindness goes a long way.
