So I was on a road trip from Nebraska to Michigan and my Dodge Diesel 3500 Cummins Power Stroke blew the Turbo. I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do. So I started calling EVERY SINGLE automotive repair shop within 50 miles of my location that I broke down. 15 calls to 15 different repair shops, all of them would not touch my truck, because it was a diesel high performance truck. Finally the 16th call I found Chicagoland DIY Automotive, and spoke with Chad the owner and told him I was broke down and had a high performance diesel pickup and had no clue what to do. Fortunately I was only little over a mile broke down from his shop. So he directed me to his shop and I got my pickup to him. It was getting close to closing time and I had no clue where I even was, being I am from a small town in Nebraska, Chad went out of his way to help me find a hotel room and even gave me a ride to a hotel in his vehicle! Then he diagnosed my truck and found that I blew my high performance Turbo and it was going to be approximately 5 days to get a Turbo delivered. So he gave me a call at the hotel and let me know what needed to be done to get it fixed. So I got a bus ticket back to Nebraska and Chad even gave my a ride to the bus station in downtown Chicago with his vehicle!! Which I don't know ANYONE in that line of work or any other line of work that would have went WAY OUT OF HIS WAY TO GET ME A HOTEL AND THEN GIVE ME A RIDE TO THE BUS STATION SO I COULD GET HOME SAFE!! Then soon as he got the Turbo delivered, he fast tracked fixing it, knowing I was from a very long ways from home and needed my pickup for my job, and had it fixed within a week!! Keep in mind there was NO OTHER REPAIR SHOP THAT WOULD EVEN ATTEMPT TO HELP ME! I cannot say enough good things about Chad and how he runs his business!!! I felt like I was truly blessed finding Chad at Chicagoland DIY AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR!!! I highly recommend him for any issues you may have with your vehicle! And he is literally THE ONLY PERSON that would even touch my Diesel pickup!! He got it up and running and looked over the entire engine to make sure i didn't break down on my 15 hour drive home!! I haven't met a truly good hearted person like Chad in a Very long time!! What he did for me was so so so beyond what anyone else would have done for me it was amazing!!! This place is amazing! I do most of my work on my own, but I had to extract a bolt from the pintle on my Audi to change a wheel bearing, and I needed their hydraulic press for that too. Chad was very, very helpful with some problems that came up. He's an excellent mechanic if you don't want to do the work yourself. If I lived close, I would likely use their facility quite often. They had all the specialty tools for my Audi except for a 17mm hex on a socket for the axel nut, but we made things work. The facility is clean, well stocked, and if I have major work to do in the future, this will be my go to place! read more

This shop is amazing! The owners were very nice and knowledgeable. They had a bay available during the exact time i needed it and it was very clean. They had every tool that i needed including a car lift! They also sell a huge variety of parts. Im definitely going back when ever i dont have the tools (and space!) to fix anything on my car. Great customer service! I had failed my emissions test due to a check engine light. I took my car to a few shops in the area and i was quoted between 100-750 dollars to repair my car. My last stop was Chicagoland DIY and they were able to fix my issue in about a half hour and it only cost me 35 bucks! Great shop and great guys working there! read more

I have only good things to say about this place. The facility is clean and stocked with ample tools and equipment. Did some rear subframe bushings on my BMW on the lift at DIY. Chad, his dad and everyone else in the shop were extremely helpful, I probably wouldn't have got this done without them.
