You can't judge an auto parts store the way you would, say, a Target. It's not really about the…read moreamenities. But customer service and selection still rule. For me, the great thing about auto parts stores is if you get a really helpful clerk, they will often be able to help you install or replace whatever thing it is you just bought. (I had an AutoZone guy save my butt once by replacing my alternator after it died on a deserted highway an hour from home.) There's an AutoZone just that much closer to my apartment, but in my past dealings with them, while they have everything you need, the attitudes are a little lackadaisical. So I decided to try the Napa, which is pretty new and still kinda shiny. They have the part I was looking for. Check. The guy was willing to help me swap it out. Check. Unfortunately, he couldn't ACTUALLY swap it out, because that part, on my car, is located on the underside of the engine. But he was willing to try, god bless him, and for that, Napa gets 4 solid stars.

The only thing that I disliked about this location was that you have to be traveling eastbound on Irving Park Rd to get into the parking lot; you have to exit in the same direction. Perhaps that is part of the reason they decided to shut this location down?

The perils of city life that no one warns you about.. You kind of anticipate that street parking…read moremeans your car will get dinged up a bit, but it's a real sucker punch when you go to get in your car and find that someone side swiped you, took your mirror, and left damage to all four panels in a hit and run. And if you have my luck it happens twice! As a young woman who knows nothing about cars, going to the body shop can be intimidating. Both times, however, Tigers has taken care of me with transparency and professionalism. Start by bringing it in for an estimate -- no appointment needed. If you call ahead, you'll just be told "anytime". The assessment will be quick, and in under 20 minutes you'll have a quote and an appointment to bring it back for the actual work. (Yes, the appointment might be a couple days out. They're busy because they're GOOD.) In my case, a four panel replacement was expected to take 3-4 days. I had plans to be out of town, and the team was completely understanding about my need to leave it there for an extra day or two until I returned. In the short amount of time I spent in the office, a crew member or two floated in or out with smiles on their faces, cracking jokes, making me feel completely at ease. You can tell the team gets along well and generally just seem to enjoy being there. Greg also took the time to discuss my options with me (insurance vs out of pocket, what could be done to bring the cost down while managing the essentials, and explaining the different steps that must be taken for either option). When I came back for pickup a few days later, I found my car looking good as new. Maybe it's because I'm repeat business, but when it was time to pay up I was told it was discounted. I was incredibly grateful -- but imagine how much more grateful I was when I actually got in the car to drive home... And found that the crew had detailed the interior, too! Truly above and beyond, the nicest team, just carrying on the family legacy and happy to be doing it. I'll never take my car anywhere else and I'll vouch for Tiger's every time.

Yanira, who is supposed to be the manager, was extremely rude and unhelpful. When we tried to return defective parts, she offered no solutions and instead falsely claimed we were being rude--ultimately refusing to issue a refund, despite us having the faulty items in hand. We've also had ongoing issues with billing, particularly with not receiving proper credit for returned parts. Every time we call to resolve the matter, we're told Yanira is either busy, out of the store, or on vacation. As daily customers, we feel the treatment we've received has been consistently poor and unfair. I'm leaving this review in hopes that others who've had similar experiences will speak up and that the store's ownership will begin holding their employees accountable--starting with treating loyal customers with the respect they deserve.
