It truly never fails. Every time I come to this Chick Fil A, whether or not I place a mobile order I'll be waiting at least twenty minutes. The employees always look like they don't want to be there and how unprofessional it's there is surreal. No matter the time of day either, a very long wait will be guaranteed. Today I made the mistake to go back to get a quick meal but after waiting almost thirty minutes the manager decided to give me a refund. Then I'd need to wait three more minutes to get what I ordered but with me being thoroughly disappointed with this whole establishment; I declined and decided to leave because I really would rather to spend not another second in that place. This is our go-to place every time we come do to the DMV, after checking into the Hilton around the corner, we hit the Chick-fil-A for lunch before hitting the mall. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the food is delicious. For a New Yorker tired of the fast food choices and not wanting to spend $$$ at a restaurant, Chick-fil-A hits the spot. While it is true pickup instructions recommend bring the hot red bag, it is by no mean a requirement for pickup.The subjective and most irritating thing in this scenario is that only 2/5 Doordashers had them in the store, me being the only one verbally refused w/o it.Besides this, no merchant has any reasonable right to refuse to produce a paid order for my customers. If someone's gonna assume my duties, then they need to com ed correct. Theres a time that the food IS supposed to be ready, that was 10 minutes later than the promised time. I am done. I have literally had it up to my ears in foolishness with this restaurant. While I am an avid fan of the brand, I am done with the Downtown Silver Spring location. Last night, the young lady was passing me my food. As I was extended my hand, she drops the bag on the counter and turns and walks off. Now, I'm baffled, because of the way the bag plopped on the counter and no remorse or anything. I stood there frozen and her colleague who was standing right there, didn't pick up the bag and pass it to me. It was like a "Whatever, oh well," moment. And, I felt myself becoming irate. So stood there for a second. The young man asked me if I needed anything, I told him that I needed his colleague to not throw my food and for him to pay attention. I mean it's deep here. The staff is extremely inconsistent and have a horrible attention to detail. I get it. Some people will read this and think that I'm reading too much into this, but I'm not. I worked at a Chick-Fil-A agent in college, on campus, and CUSTOMER SERVICE is what keeps the brand open. Please, Thank You, and MY PLEASURE. That is what makes people return to CFA - period. WHO GIVES OUT CUPS WITH SODA OR TEA RUNNING ALL OVER? Someone who's lazy, that's who. I asked her to give me hot fries, she rolled her eyes and reluctantly gave me the fries. I could have asked for my entire meal to recooked, but I did not feel waiting any longer or arguing. Because she legit had one more time to roll her eyes or get nasty and it was on. I don't understand why the employees have to be pleasant but the manager can be an entire ass? Mindboggling. Next case, a young brother is the manager, we share the same name, and he's very personable and for the most part, appears to do a great job. However, I had an incident where they forgot to put the chicken on my breakfast sandwich and messed up a few other items. They never answered the phone. And it was too late for me to go back because breakfast would've been over once I got home and then drove back to the restaurant. I shared with him the story - after I paid for my meal. He says, I would have taken care of that for you, I said, I didn't want a free meal, I want you all to make sure I don't have any more problems. Just fix it. I'll be back. I'm loyal to CFA. They've been good to me. I told him about the Dwarf House in Atlanta and Truett's Grill and that he should visit. He gave me two cards. This was a Thursday. I went in the next week and attempted to use the card, it was expired. I told the young lady to get him because he gave me the car. Of course, he didn't remember and I asked him why he gave me a card that had an immediate expiration and didn't inform me of that when gave it to me? I'm not upset with him, because it's not like I asked for it. But it was embarrassing. And, after so many incidents with this particular restaurant, all of the little things start to add up. I don't have the brand, but the Downtown Silver Spring location has only one more time before I set it off and at this point, there is no point in me patronizing. This Chick-fil-A is conveniently located near shopping and other restaurants in downtown Silver Spring. The employees are always nice. The bathrooms are clean. There is a selection of wraps and salads if you don't want to get a burger. The managers keep an eye on the dining areas and are good about asking non customers to leave. The restaurant is always closed on Sundays. Bonus points on the new thick milkshakes. read more

This has got to be the slowest Chik Fil A on the planet. For a chain that prides itself on fast and courteous service, this branch is falling a little behind in the speed category. The sandwich was juicy and yet somehow still done. The waffle fries were crispy. The staff seemed like they actually like their jobs. I can't say I'm hooked. I still prefer my chicken sandwiches to cost a dollar even though you can't buy a loaf of bread for that price these days, but somehow can get bread, sauce, pigeon meat, and three wilted cornflake sized pieces of lettuce for $1. I am not a fan of their chicken nuggets and fries though. I would expect more from a chicken place. The nuggets are just pitiful, just pass on them. It should never take more than 30 mins for a kids meal. The curbside service is awful and unreliable. Today I went to chick-fil-a for a spicy chicken deluxe. What I did not realize is that these sandwiches now include a weevil with your lettuce. Pretty gross, but I know it happens everywhere from time to time. However, what annoyed me most was the two free meal tickets I was given in consolation that stipulate it had to be at the same location and by the 31st of this month. What really impressed me is the customer service--large line, small line, those manning the registers were the most professional I've seen at a fast-food restaurant lately. It's Chick-fil-A. The service is friendly, the food is delicious, and they never complain when someone asks for six or more Chick-fil-A Sauce packets for one meal, which I may or may not do. Plus, their countertops at the windows offer some truly fantastic people watching (sorry, obnoxious/screaming/hormonal teenagers who frequent downtown Silver Spring, you are not nearly as cool as you think you are). Several good things about this place: 1. The market salad grill is yummy with fruits and grilled chicken. Only 200 calories - ideal for dieters! 2. The waffle fries are so nice. We strongly recommend the Chick-fil-A sauce. 3. The staff there are really friendly. They call your name to when the meal is ready, and the manager walks around to check everyone is okay.
