A pretty standard Panda Express that is located in the heart of the Westfield Mall (across the way from the Costco). Although the staff was really nice, I was a bit disappointed by the limited selection of entrees. It is possible that I visited during off-peak hours because I did see a bunch of prep work going on. Maybe the restaurant were getting ready for the influx of customers going to or coming from Costco and other businesses in the mall. For my order, I went with the Beef Shanghai (I think that's what it was called). The dish was fine, but the meat did taste like it had been sitting out for a while. However, I cannot complain too much because Panda Express really isn't really a cook to order establishment. Overall, I thought the prices of the dishes were in line with other similar establishments in the area. Also, the restaurant was pretty clean. read more

A first timer to this Panda Express location. The line to order was long as heck on a Thursday (12/04/25) evening! Guess it was in the middle of the dinner rush or something. Got the Chow Mein, Orange Chicken, Beef with Broccoli and Grilled Chicken. The food tasted alright, kind of bland. Needed more flavor and seasoning. Portions were a little on the smaller side for the 2 entrees that we got as well. Based on the first visit, it could have been better. read more

Maybe I got lucky with who was serving the food but big portions. Teriyaki chicken is good. But what's fantastic? The orange chicken? Panda express did me dirty. Ordered from this location on 02/15/2022 through Uber Eats. Upon delivery I discovered a DISGUSTING MESS. I had ordered a three entree meal. What was delivered did not look anything like any of the food I have come to expect. One entree had,on the receipt, been crossed out as I guess they could not be bothered to properly cook my order. What was delivered was a grey mass of what I guess was rejected teriyaki chicken. I reported my displeasure to Uber Eats right away and was advised that the charge would be removed. Yes a picture was taken for Uber Eats. Sadly Uber Eats FAILED TO MAKE GOOD ON THIER COMMITMENT TO ME. Moral of this story is to AVOID BOTH PANDA EXPRESS and UBER EATS LIKE THE PLAUGE. read more

Definitely good place for a quick dish, although some people think its fast food but ultimately its all about your choices. Its definitely adding a good addition for the mall. You literally can build your own dish and choose 2 sides which they have a big selection of, the portion is always good. They are very serious about covid 19 precautions. The place always clean and food is fresh, the taste and smell are unbelievable. GOOD: We like the food, big portions and usually fresh and tasty, if not the healthiest. BAD: The staff doesn't keep up with demand so there's often not much to choose from. UGLY: I understand the need to avoid waste, but when you stop making new food at 7:20 in anticipation of closing at 8, you are going to lose customers like us who would otherwise be willing to make a trip for your orange chicken. This has happened 3 times, so you're training us to stop trying. Please reconsider this practice. read more

NO CHICKEN IN THE ORANGE CHICKEN! MOSTLY FRIED BATTER NUGGETS COVERED W SAUCE. Stopped here unexpectedly and tried a Panda Express next to the Costco. I can say that I have never been more disappointed. Only some of the chicken nuggets actually had chicken in them. A large majority of them especially the smaller pieces are just fried batter covered with sauce. That's how they save money by making you think it's chicken when it's not. Very disappointing it's too bad the Attorney General doesn't get after them for advertising a dish as chicken when there is such a tiny amount of chicken in it -if at all! Can anyone say unorganized!! I had the worst experience at this location and I really expected some good service being as though no one was in line and it was a lazy Sunday vibe. I waited around about 4-5 Minutes standing in line asking for assistance before someone finally helped me with my order. Then when I ordered I was up-charged and told I should have read the sign before I ordered. I was not up for any disrespectful customer service and I didn't want to argue so I just walked away! This isn't just your typical Panda Express (yes it's one of my guilty pleasures.. I mean orange chicken... chow mein... Aiya). It's only a few weeks old and looks great with high bar tables and a slick overall feel. It's located in the new wing of Wheaton mall right by costco, chipotle, etc... The biggest difference is the TEA BAR. Yes it's like their version of Mcdee's McCafe with BOBA MILK TEA and fruity teas as well. It's awesome!! I love how these chains are stepping up their game to compete with expensive alternatives. I tried the boba milk tea (decent, chewy, real tea flavor, good in a pinch) and the raspberry green tea (too sweet for my taste but great green tea flavor) I normally would give a regular Panda Express a solid 2 or 3 depending on how clean they are and the staff, this fancier version gets a 4 from me! read more

I was wallowing in misery and realized I had hunger pangs. One mustn't shop at Costco while famished, so I wandered over to what I hoped would be nothing less then average "Chinese" food. I had the orange chicken, although nary an orange was used to prepare this dish. I noticed the sign that reads: All food is prepared fresh, etc... As the cook, under said writing threw a bunch of frozen ?chicken? pieces into the deep fryer. So some over fried chicken pieces over white rice and hot sauce commiserate to sate my hunger. I pretended it was something else, finished it, and retreated to the harsh light of the mall. The place is clean, looks good, and the bathrooms seem to be maintained. I have really fond memories of going to Panda Express as a teen, eating heaping plates of lo mein, orange chicken, and an always rotating 2nd entree. So, when I noticed how long the Costco food line was, I decided to revisit the joys of my youth. Wait....where'd the joy go? I got an orange chicken and chow mein bowl and everything was just flavorless. I immediately regretted spending more money on inferior food. I ate the orange chicken because I know that wouldn't stand a chance reheated, and I took the chow mein home, hoping to doctor it up with some garlic and chilli sauces at home, in an attempt to salvage it. Pretty sure Panda Express didn't suddenly become healthy, so where did all the flavor go? Food here has always been very tasty, but they don't seem to understand that all (or at least most) food items should be available during their posted hours. Management seems to be lacking at this branch, located in Westfield Wheaton Mall. Once again I arrived a little over 10 minutes after the restaurant was supposed to be open, and only about half of the listed items had been prepared (see photo). On a previous visit, when I asked for an item not yet on the steam table--again, half the dishes on the steamtable were empty--no effort was made to prepare it, or even to say it would be up soon. Wouldn't you think if a customer is waiting for an item, the cook would prepare it next, or at least soon? The counter person told the cook what I was waiting for, but he proceeded to cook four other items in succession--items absolutely no one was waiting for. On that visit, I waited nearly 15 minutes before I gave up and left. On this last visit, when I arrived 10 minutes after opening time, I saw all the empty serving bowls behind the counter and knew better than to wait. read more

My kids love Panda Express. But this location does not open at the time they say they open. The day I was here, they opened at 11:10, no food was still ready and their excuse was they had a meeting. When they finally opened, there were no food ready yet and we still had to wait another 5 minutes for our order to be done. When we wanted bubble tea, they informed us that it will be another 30 minute til the bubble gets cooked. So all in all, they should just open at 12 if they really can't be ready and open at 11 am. read more

This is a wonderful addition to the mall. Food was hot and delicious as expected. I just didn't like the girl who was taking my order. As I was getting my sides (rice and chow mein) she kept asking me "what else? What else?" It would be different if entree options were right in front of me, but she didn't give me a chance to look and select my entrees. Going from 3 stars to 1. Stopped by the other night and waiting in line. Everyone is waiting for the next batch of orange chicken, which they finally serve up. A lady ahead of my asks for 3 orange chicekn bowls with vegetables, which the server prepares. Another co-worker comes up and whispers something in the first server's ear. The first server then informs the customer that the veggies are "too old" and they need to prepare more. In violation of food sanitation standard, she scoops the chicken back out of the bowls with the rancid veggies and back into the main serving bowl. The lady in line points out they had already made her one bowl earlier (this was one large to-go order, and they only had enough chicken for one). The server takes that one back, and astonishingly, SEPARATES THE CHICKEN FROM THE BOWL THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN SERVED TO A CUSTOMER BACK INTO THE SERVING BOWL. Food, which was mixed with other food deemed too old to serve, and then given to a customer, was then placed back in the main serving bowl. This place should be shut down. I'm placing a complaint with the Montgomery Dept. of Health over these concerns. read more

The bathroom is sometimes dirty, toilet bowl pee spots on the seats from men who go to the woman's bathroom as i saw a asian man go in the woman's bathroom. This is very disturbing as there is 2 bathrooms. one for men and other woman but man going in the woman's bathroom. Typical Chinese American, but was fairly fresh. I had a plate meal with orange chicken and beef & broccoli, both of which were neither too sweet or salty which I appreciated. That being said the food could be more flavorful, but that is a personal preference. Furthermore, I decided to give 4 stars because of the service. A side also comes with the plate meal and I ordered chow mein. The cooks were still preparing more chow mein so I had to wait a bit for my food, but I didn't mind. Food is consistently great, but what makes this location special is the Tea Bar and customer service. I'm here at least once a week since the Costco next door is a weekly stop for our family. Team members are consistently happy and provide quick service. Special shout out to JEAN, the cook!!! Even when he's busy cooking, cleaning, etc, he finds time to greet every guest and infect both customers and coworkers alike with his consistent and boundless positive energy. Came in with my wife to have a late lunch. Very slow service considering that there was barely anyone inside. We finally received service only to find out we had to wait because a lot of there food was empty. So I decided to order myself what they had went ahead and purchased the food and received 2 boxes of food and 2 drinks. Sat with my with at the table only to find out they had served us an empty box. We went to ask what happen and they played dumb. Only the cook remembered that he for got to load the food box. Then to get questioned if we had paid. I had beef and broccoli. The "beef" tastes like it has been reconstructed out of a beef-like substance. I'm not saying it's not made from a cow (okay, steer) but the texture can only be described as spongy.
