Cheeseburger po boy, onion rings, fried pickles, and macaroni and Mac & Cheese
Samantha M.

Highly recommend all the food! Everything is delicious. We order delivery at least once a month and we always get the Mac n cheese no matter what else we get.

Loaded fries!!! Chicken and shrimp! Had to order after I tried my wife's loaded chicken fries! It's amazing!

Great customer service and delicious food! We were passing through the area and found this place on yelp. Soooo glad we did. Very casual atmosphere and upbeat vibes. Food is made to order so it is fresh and hot when it comes out. This place is a great stop! Can't wait til we come back through!

Great customer service, everyone was very friendly. The chicken was the best dang chicken I've ever had, the green were seasoned awesome, and the yams were great too... on the weekend they have bbq FYI you order from the person at the bbq grill ... the food was so good I couldn't resist the smell and started eating before I remember to take my regular food photo

Shrimp Po'boy

We stumbled on this gem about 3 years ago on our way to New Orleans. The online reviews were fantastic so we decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint! Everything was hot, fresh, well seasoned and amazingly delicious! We were worried on our way through Picayune this year that they may have closed because of the pandemic, but we were so excited to see that they still open in a bigger space! The food was just as hot, fresh, well seasoned and delicious as before! And Charles is still the amazingly gracious owner! We will definitely be back!

A fish in my shrimp poboy and what looks like a worm
Josh D.

I just ordered a shrimp poboy and there was a piece of mystery FISH with BONES in my shrimp poboy. I am so disgusted that I threw everything else we ordered in the trash. How did that happen? I think I ate part of it because my second bite was fishy which I just thought was an off shrimp but then this strange flat piece fell out. I inspected it and broke it in half and that's what I saw. There was also a worm looking thing that was in the fish. I am thoroughly disgusted. Is the shrimp breaded here or is it breaded at some factory and frozen? What a waste of money. I posted pictures.

Stopped here based on the reviews. It was surprisingly good. The burger wasn't that great, but the Surf n Turf fries were great and so were the chicken wings. It was definitely better than most gas station food places and we would come here again on our annual road trip.

Chicken with two sides! $8

Great food and service. The food came out super hot and fresh. The owner came to our table twice to make sure everything was okay. The location is new but it was easy to find. A lot of locals recommended this place to us and it's definitely unique. The fried chicken was superior!

Fried shrimp salad

I really enjoyed the chicken on a stick. I typically order these at fairs or convenience stores and this one definitely tops any of those. Absolutely no doughy-ness between the pieces. Which really makes it great! Seasoned well fried perfect. It's a great, filling, $5 fix! Dipped in ranch it can't be beat. My only suggestion would be add some fried jalapeños to it!

The shrimp poboy was pretty darn good . I'm glad I didn't get French fries, the poboy was plenty to fill me up. There was enough shrimp on it to make two poboys . I have no idea how he got them all to stay on it when he made it .

The menu looked good but food taste and appearance were inconsistent. Will not eat there again.

The sandwich had great flavor with fresh bread and the pho hit the spot perfectly. Cozy atmosphere, friendly vibe, and definitely worth the drive if you're craving Vietnamese food.

She brought home her leftover "combination bahn mi" for me to try because it didn't taste right to her. It was mostly plain grilled chicken and a Miracle Whip style mayonnaise. No pâté, no Vietnamese cold cuts. The sandwich lacked the abundance fresh, crisp veggies of a typical bahn mi. It was overloaded with shredded marinated carrots and daikon, but they were extremely thin slices atypical for the pickles that normally adorn a good bahn mi. There was also no funkiness like one would expect from a high-quality fermented pickle containing daikon. She also brought home a side of fish sauce, but it tasted like it was mostly vinegar. Long story short, not a bahn mi, not Vietnamese food, not worth the time or money. I can't speak for the service or ambiance since she brought the food home, but I don't think any degree of service or atmosphere could compensate for the food quality or lack of authenticity.

The only things missing were a jukebox in the corner and a waitress on roller skates calling me "hon." Frostop is pure nostalgia -- no filters, no fluff, just good food and better vibes. It's the kind of place that makes you half-expect the Fonz to walk out and give you a thumbs-up. Now, the food. Let's just say if flavor could wear a leather jacket, this shrimp po' boy would be James Dean. The shrimp were fried to absolute perfection -- crisp, golden, and light enough that you don't need to call your cardiologist afterward. The batter had zero oil slick, which is rare enough to deserve its own holiday. The onion rings? Crisp enough to make that satisfying snap when you pull them apart -- not a greasy drip in sight. And those crinkle-cut fries? Cooked just right -- golden on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and salty enough to make you reach for another sip of that sweet tea (which, of course, was the real deal -- sweet, cold, and dangerously refillable). My colleague went for the burger po' boy and hasn't stopped talking about it since. The man looked genuinely emotional for a second -- like he'd just reunited with a long-lost friend. Oh, and the prices, ridiculously low! Maybe not from the sixties, but definitely not from this decade either! If you find yourself anywhere near Picayune, do yourself a favor and pull over. Frostop isn't just lunch -- it's a mini vacation back to a time when food was simple, service was friendly, and nobody cared about counting calories. If you follow me, you know I don't give five stars away easily, this place deserves each of those five stars!
