Best Fresh Photographer for Intimate New Hope, PA Weddings!…read more We had the pleasure of working with Kasey Ivan Photography for our wedding in New Hope, PA. When we set out looking for someone, we were overwhelmed because honestly it's not every day that you think about how you would like to be photographed and then have to put it into words. We weren't going traditional; we had an intimate outdoor wedding at a B&B with a rustic and simple elegance. We knew what we didn't want, the "standard wedding photographer"... someone that churns out the same photo for every couple and then upsells them the standard coffee table book. From there we figured out that what was important to us. We wanted someone with a fresh eye. My fiance came across his website after a LOT of searching and it had a refreshing feel to it. Kasey's photos captured actual emotion. We met Kasey in person and he was genuinely passionate about what he did and was interested in our story. When he said that the more involved with our love story he was, the more emotion he could put into the photography. SOLD. He asked us lots of questions. We talked for a while and by the time we left we wanted to hire someone else...so we could INVITE HIM AS A GUEST! He was a great listener, answered our questions, referred a videographer and makeup artist, AND his fees were much more realistic than many of the other outfits. There was no way we were going to pay several thousands of dollars for a photographer's assistant that we haven't met, to come follow us around for 8 hours. And the bonus was that he didn't try to force a printed book on us. He was perfectly fine with giving the electronic files. We decided to do a First Look session before the ceremony for many reasons. At first, I was against it because I wanted to be able to see his face for the first time as I walked down the aisle. Kasey suggested that I could walk up to my fiance while his back was turned and tap him on the shoulder. That way he wouldn't actually see me walking up to him. This made ALL the difference in the world and now we are so glad we did it. I can't even express how important, peaceful and meaningful that time was. We were able to stare at each other, feel the emotion, take the time to connect privately...(while being photographed and filmed). I learned later that Kasey even helped my fiancé put on his cufflinks. What an amazing individual. Anyway, even if his photos sucked we would still give him great reviews, but we got our USB drives and finally had the time to go through them. They were exactly what we asked for; we got amazing shots full of emotion from the First Look, breathtaking posed shots around the barn and property, and then the "not posed" action shots we wanted...unscripted real life. There are some awful shots of people's faces, but that's what happens in real life. I'm grateful he didn't remove those because we wanted to see it all! And just to top it off, towards the end of the night we asked him to join us on the dance floor. He was so much fun and danced a jig...or maybe it was moshing, not sure...but it was late. He fit right in and that's what kind of photographer we wanted. Thank you Kasey!

I'm very glad we chose to do the engagement shoot with him as well as it really helped us get comfortable around him and know what to expect at the wedding. Other than the previous poster, I have an appreciation for a photographers time whether they are full time or part time. No one really understands how much time goes into getting images ready for their clients. Amanda went above and beyond with my session. Before the session, she provided me with helpful tips that definitely helped everything to do with my session. If I had a question, she was very prompt in her response. She took the time to get to know me and my fiance so we would be more comfortable in front of the camera. Some people don't understand that when you pay $75, you're going to get $75 worth of photos. Typically, it's from a new photographer who's just starting out, so sometimes that can range from 20 photos to 100 photos. GOOD photographers do not include ALL of the photos because who wants the photos that you look terrible in? You KNOW there are some! My photo session was on March 10th, & I received my photos on March 24th. Two week processing time, how amazing! Maybe because the previous poster was unhappy, she may have approached Amanda with attitude/the wrong way so it could have scared her? Anyway, that's not a way to handle a problem. I can't even imagine how someone would be upset with Amanda. She is SUCH a sweet girl! My session cost me $349 which included a print credit of $150. I MUST say, the prints are GORGEOUS. They look so much better than when I would get photos printed at Walmart, Walgreens, Target, etc. Amanda no longer includes the CD's or print releases unless you pay for them. Which, all professional photographers do this. If they don't, they're just giving away their work. They do work hard, so I totally think they should be paid for their work/time/etc. I have gone to so many photographers in the past. Amanda has been the sweetest, most professional photographer I have ever met. Her prices still beat all the other photographers that are considered her competition. (Newsflash, a $349 session vs. a $75 session is not competition. There's a reason for a $75 session!) You get what you pay for. If you pay for a $75 session, you cannot complain about what you get out of it. You had to have done the research of her work prior to booking her, right? The experience is even better. We were totally comfortable and we laughed the entire time. She sure knows how to make her clients feel welcomed, comfortable, and beautiful. She's someone I could see myself being friends with. I love Amanda's unique eye and how she delivers a photo session like no other. I will not be using ANY other photographer for future events for my family. My daughters senior pictures are next and I know Amanda will deliver nothing but top notch quality photos! Well done! 5 stars!

I did not receive them (on CD) until October 3rd. I was told it would take 4-6 for processing. They were ready to be mailed Sept 18th but her husband forgot to mail them. I received the CD in a regular manila envelope-not padded or anything. I paid her for a "special" she was having to celebrate her one-year anniversary of doing photography. I had no idea that his special meant I would receive 22 photos. She took hundreds. I got 1 of my stepdaughter, 2 of my family and the rest of my daughter alone or with us. Some shots were very odd-extreme close-ups of her face. When I inquired about this, I was told that the special usually included 8-15 of the best shots. I was not asked about these shots-they were chosen for me. I was also told that she would fix this. It is now Oct. 13th and I haven't received any more photos. She also took my daughter's photo and photo shopped some of her stats (birthday, favorite foods, etc.) There were several punctuation errors and a spelling error on it. I inquired about the spelling error, which was fixed but still haven't received any more photos. Amanda Grant took some great photos but she is not a full-time photographer. She doesn't have the time to put into her photos and that is why it takes so long. It is also surprising the few photos you get. I have a friend that also went to her and she received the same outcome-very few photos. I would NOT recommend her.

I first had the pleasure of working with her for a friend's wedding in New Hampshire. She directed every moment of the shoot, creating a comprehensive selection of photos to capture every possible moment. Her photo culling and editing timetable was amazing and my friend had photos in just a couple of weeks. When I reached out to her on my own behalf, the situation wasn't as joyful. I was left in the lurch by my own wedding photographer and had several thousand raw, unedited, and frankly underwhelming photo files to wade through. Erika was able to take my photos and almost completely transform them with her editing work in a little over a week. I'd been waiting nearly a year for my original photographer to do the work and when he disappeared, I'm so glad Erika was the backup. Her pricing is amazing and her work is impeccable. I especially love how she organized your gallery into sections with highlights, getting ready, ceremony, and reception all in order. She's been a dream to work with, friendly, responsive, and professional!

She is professional, considerate, extremely talented, and punctual. Our communication was open and clear, she took the pictures we had wanted, and sent us our album very promptly, and the pictures were breathtaking. If you've seen her website, you know she specializes in outdoor weddings, and she absolutely does the best job. Tears were in my eyes as we looked through our album as I saw our garden wedding as a picturesque fairytale. As it was, the weather was SO hot but she kept her cool and did amazing work and never let on if she was uncomfortable with the weather (which if she did, I would have understood, but she was a trooper!). She set up her own shots with our favors and wedding items and everything looked like it was in a dream. If you work with Erika, you will definitely be hiring the best photographer in the New England area, hands down. You definitely won't regret it! Erika, thank you for making our day a beautiful memory! Your wonderful photographs will adorn our walls happily ever after!
