I walked into this restaurant with the intentions of buying me a kids meal because I am on a lifestyle mission and I don't eat allot. To make a long story short I walk up to the register and I asked the cashier. Do you guys have a kids meal he replied,"Yes" one is a leg combo and the other is a one leg combo. I replied," I don't eat legs can I have a wing instead." His response was,"No." I'm like you just flat out say no, why not I can up charge you for the wing. He flat out respond "No". I said," really so your just going to turn down money." I didn't even try to argue. I asked for a manager and he never came so I turned and walked out the store. This was a very different situation. I love me some "Chicken E" This is a wonderful chicken joint! Like most places in Mineral Wells I was raised eating here, have ate here all my life, fed it to my children, and anytime I'm in town I always have to grab some chicken and sweet tea from here. You can literally feed 8 people for around $35.00 with their enormous sized family specials. Chicken E has the highest standards which is what sets them apart not only from other chicken joints, but from most all fast food places and restaurants. They have dine in, carry out, drive through and at one time even had delivery - which I think they stopped delivery but it dont matter they are very quick and efficient. I've always loved how when you go through the drive thru - they DONT even bother using the speaker system they send someone right out to your car to take your order. Its nothing for there to be 4 or 5 teenagers who are strangely efficient for kids running up and down the line taking orders, and I've never had them get my order wrong...... amazing! Chicken tenders, their cream gravy that I'm sure is made with some highly addictive ingredient, fried okra, cole slaw, and sweet tea...... you can't go wrong! read more

I am from Mineral Wells, but I live in Baton Rouge now, so I make it a point to go with my family every time I go home for a visit. We love getting the family meals with tenders and sides. I love the fried okra, and I make sure to get it every time we go. We tend to also get the mashed potatoes and gravy, more so for my brothers. I love the chicken tenders; I don't know how they season them, but they are amazing. The biscuits are to die for. Service is always good here as is the food you come to expect from Chicken E. My gripe is my order is wrong more times than it is right in the drive though. Do yourself a favor and check each box before leaving...regardless of the lengthy line behind you. I assume additional staff training would go a long way. read more

The chicken is inconsistent sometimes it's really good other's it's too dry, and other times it's too greasy. They have changed something about the fries which I don't love but they're ok. The main reason I go to ChickenE is for the jalapeño poppers they are the best ones I've had and only ones with the jalapeño chopped up inside rather than being s slice they put cheese on and fried. Worst fried chicken experience I have ever had. The chicken looked like it came from something half the size of a real chicken. Would not have been so bad if the prices were half off too. This Chicken Express is great! I have never had a problem with them. The food taste great and with all the stuff that is going on with the coronavirus. Just spent 10 freaking minutes waiting on a lg sweet tea! The cashier was to busy talking to some girl who came in 5 min after me and she got her food and drinks before I did! I had lean over the counter to get someone's attention to give me my tea that was already sitting there they just never gave it to me!!! And the manager was standing in the lobby talking to 2 men who ordered right before me, and could clearly see that I was still standing at the counter obviously needing something!!! Fast, friendly, and food is always fresh. I never had a bad experience with this place. Tea is a little too sweet but half and half is good.

I like the food. I eat here about twice a month. But I discovered that the Chicken Express nutrition information shows that their fish fillet has the same amount of calories as raw fish. This appears to be incorrect since Chicken Express does not serve raw fish, it is fried and breaded and this adds calories. See below for full explanation. To the Customer Service department of Chicken Express. Dear Sir or Madam, The nutrition information listed on your website chickene.com seems to be incorrect, specifically Fish Fillet 113g, 4oz - 100 calories. I have raw and boneless tilapia fish in my freezer that has the same nutrition information as the fried and breaded fish fillet that your restaurant serves. I assume that the fish fillet you are serving is catfish. The USDA shows that fried and breaded catfish has 260 calories per 113g. I have provided links below to the USDA listing for catfish. Please correct the nutrition information on your website or provide an explanation as to why your fried and breaded catfish has the same amount of calories as raw fish. I expect to hear back from you with a full resolution to this issue by August 23, 2016 at the very latest. If the resolution is satisfactory I will remove this review.
