I'll start with what's good. The combination wanton soup was a good flavor but had one shrimp. The fried chicken which is why I went there. Disappointingggg hardly any seasoning and it was just thrown fryer as is. Man it was so dryy I was seething internally I didn't even finish the chicken and I was hungry. Never coming back. I was feeling a little under the weather and needed some wonton soup, so I drove from Menifee here and it did not disappoint. Hands downs the best I have ever had. The broth was a little darker than I expected so maybe that's where some of the flavor is. I ordered the combination wonton soup, it had plenty of shrimp, chickens and beef and plenty of wontons. Waste of my money and time. The orange chicken had very little meat. The flavor of the orange chicken and chow mein was decent but I've had much better. I don't think this place is authentic. Nothing on their menu is notably high quality although their fried chicken has plenty of meat but still not the best by any means. I agree with other people's comments. Sooo the other reviews were not wrong... This place is pretty sketchy but if you can get past that... Pretty good... We ordered the four piece chicken and shrimp fried rice... the portion size was enough to share with one other person. The chicken was freshly cooked and very well seasoned. The shrimp fried rice was delicious although I could tell the shrimp was previously frozen. There are tables to sit at but we didn't feel the sit and eat vibe so we took it to go. Definitely order ahead as we had to wait about 15 minutes or so but it gave us time to check out the donut shop next door... I would visit again but next time I will order ahead... read more

I would have given this place 4 stars but the woman that took my order was rude. My fam was hangry so we wanted Chinese food. Being new to the Perris area I decided to give it a try. I ordered: combination with chicken chow mein, orange chicken, beef & broccoli, shrimp and fried cream cheese wonton. Lots of food! Enough to feed 3 adults and 2 children. Total was $50 or so. The Hispanic girl who takes the orders is always rude, cuts you off and sometimes doesn't even let you finish ordering. I usually ignore it but, last week I saw her being rude to a customer and decide to walk out. I doubt the owner cares, I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I moved away over 16 years ago and it's been 11 years since I've had their assorted lo mien but of all the different Chinese places I've eaten at across the country Chicken King in Perris CA is by far the best ever. It's my favorite place to eat every time I visit CA. I love that it's family owned and when I lived there they knew me and my family by name. read more

What a weird place. My husband and I were on our way back from a funeral and he was getting hungry. We were a big conflicted on what we wanted to eat. He wanted pizza and I wasn't feeling it. We were browsing yelp and this place comes up. We both decide this is ideal and also terrifying. Pizza and Chinese food? What could go wrong. Our first impression was kind of unsettling. What appeared to be a homeless man was sitting outside with a chihuahua. We entered anyways. The atmosphere is definitely depressing. Bare environment, with what appeared to be broken arcane machines in a dimly lit corner. We ordered our food anyways. I got the house special and he ordered a pizza. Both were incredibly cheap. I was honestly expecting a nightmare amalgamation of flavors. To our surprise, both were actually amazingly tasty. My one complaint was that I wish the pieces of meat in my dish were a bit bigger. Other than that. It tasted fantastic, particularly for the price we paid. We even had leftovers to last us a while. I have to say, after the gloom of being at a funeral, a bizarre place like this will definitely take your mind off things. I'm giving four stars instead of five mainly because the place could use a little more ambiance. First of all The Chicken King is the best Chinese food in Perris. Panda Express and Mr. You Chinese don't even come close. They make it fresh to order. The portions are great as well as the prices. It's a family owned business. I also want to point out 2 fantastic women in that always greet me are Claudia and Mary they are sweethearts. So friendly and helpful. They always have a smile on there faces. They know how to talk and treat the customers. They are true example of what customer service is and should be! Treat them right when you go in. The owner is a true gentleman. The cooks are fantastic as well. Besides great Chinese food there pizza and chicken are excellent as well. I have never come across an establishment where all 3 categories; Chinese, Pizza and Fried Chicken are equally fantastic. Usually it's one or the other but not here at The Chicken King. What a strange place, we're from San Diego so this place was really odd. A big room with a few seats, dingy and just strange. Its extremely cheap, no doubt but food is definitely not 5 star worthy. We had Beef Chow Mein, Shrimp Fried Rice and Mongolian beef. The noodles were overly salty and really were anything other than below average, rice was slightly undercooked and the seasoning was also pretty much just a forgettable savoury taste. Came for the cheap 3.99 special only to find out that it had changed to 4.99 and the pizza was over $5 with tax and the .50 cent debit card fee might of well had just gotten a Little Cesars pizza. Wow this place has some pretty fresh tasting food. Came in and ordered the chicken chow mein, teriyaki chicken and fried chicken which comes with fries, rolls and coleslaw. Definitely looks sketchy from the outside and inside but it's worth trying to be honest. The chow mein was fresh and had great flavor. The teriyaki chicken was different but good. It had fried chicken pieces with a not too sweet but almost too salty sauce but did taste good for what it was. The fried chicken was good too with a thin crispy crust on it.
