Awesome Sweet & Sour Cole Slaw
    Seansim68 ..

The best fried chicken anywhere, hands down! The chicken is not only very crispy, but is moist all the way through, which is impressive. The wait staff is no nonsense but pleasant (love it). The ambiance is cozy and inviting. I'd recommend the sides of German Fires and Sweet & Sour Cole slaw. We've compared many others to Chicken Place and none come close.

Fried chicken is on point, tender and juicy inside while incredibly crispy outside. The service is also the top notch, our waitress Amanda was so attentive and considerate, a very happy experience. Highly recommended!

Looking for a place after playing a round at Sultan's Run?! This is it! The chicken is literally dripping with juices and the baked potato was cooked to perfection. Service was quick and friendly. Don't miss out on the sweet tea! The chicken strips are also huge and the German Potatoes are to die for! This place is a much visit. Tell Chris the cook/owner that DA & his buddy Cliff sent you, he will make sure you're dinner is perfect!

Who knew I had to come to Ireland, Indiana to enjoy the best fried chicken! Small and cozy, good ole boys kinda place. Crispy fried chicken at its best, German potatoes, good drink, good help- we had the owners Mom as our waitress. She was a hoot! Have us the history of the place and made us feel real welcome. A must go when in the area.

Chicken, German potato salad, beer. Perfect.

This is the best fried chicken in southern Indiana. They also have the coldest beer in this part of the state.

Kitschy, yes, but despite that the food is genuinely spectacular…read more Bratwurst was super flavorful and cooked perfectly with a caramelized outside, a good snap, and a moist inside. The pretzel bun was heated appropriately and had the right amount of flavor. The optional spicy mustard is really powerful. My only possible complaint would be that the spatzle were a bit on the soggy side, perhaps overcooked. That said, the spatzle also come with an incredible sauerbraten gravy. My only regret, really, is not having had dessert.

Atmosphere is fun, it really embraces the German decor (saw a review or too calling it kitschy, in a good way, which I think is a fair description). Service is friendly and attentive (and in the costumed German garb to keep with the themes). Lots of classic German dishes (several schnitzel varieties, brats, spatzel, etc.). I won't say anything I've had over the years blows me away, but haven't had a bad choice either. The Wiener schnitzel I had most recently was tender and tasty, with a perfectly fried batter, and the German fries were nicely crisped on the exterior and beautifully seasoned. Good beer selection (including some brewed for the restaurant), reasonable wine list...love that you can go all out and have your beer in the classic giant boot! Small gift shop as well, some souvenir items as well as some candies and food options.

This is the best breakfast/brunch spot…read more Cafe Pina is definitely one of our favorite restaurants ever. The menu changes seasonally with new items, but still has classics you can expect all year round. They also have weekly specials that include non-menu items that are often themed for holidays/special occasions. This morning we got to enjoy some of this season's winter menu. I had the fuyu sando, my husband had the country cabin crunchwrap, and our son had the O-G pancakes with chocolate chips/strawberries/blueberries. I also had a cookie butter chai and my husband had coffee. Everything was phenomenal, like always. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. The restaurant itself is bright, open, and just cheerful. If you're in the area this is a must stop. If you are local, they do so much more than brunch. They have a bakery across the hall, they do catering, private dinners, special nights for dinner. Chef Claudia has brought an absolute gem to southern Indiana.

With tip, $57.75. The country fried steak was the thinnest I have ever gotten. The gravy that came with it to dip in was hyped up on the menu as being delicious. It tasted like the cheapest 50 cent store brand instant gravy packet. Almost zero flavor. I did appreciate the avocado and garlic aioli flavor in the wrap. The country fries ( cubes ) tasted stale , like they were fried, then kept warm. Neither of us ate but two bites each. Ketchup didn't help.
