I decided to grab a quick dinner from here the other day, I ordered online and the price, especially for the area, is very reasonable. I ordered a 1/4 chicken white with the Mac and cheese and roasted corn and tomato sides. I did also request silverware in the order but they did forget to put that in the order. The food wasn't warm when I got it to my apartment (about two blocks away). The chicken was good and moist; the macaroni and cheese was good but slightly spicy; the corn was mostly lettuce in the bin (?) and spicy. The food was pleasant for the price. EDIT - I previously put my review as 3/5 stars but based on the professional and respectful response by the business owner that makes me feel heard and also makes me want to try this restaurant again, I increased the review to 4/5 stars. read more

Tried here on a whim recently. I was at the TD bank north, and was walking by here. Decided to check it out because I was hungry and needed something quick to go. I thought the servers were very friendly and welcoming. Everyone greeted me with a smile, and the guy at the chicken cutting board explained to me the different cuts. I got 1/4 dark chicken with a side of mixed vegetables and rice. The chicken was pretty good, but I would have preferred a bit more seasoning. I loved the rice! It was so tasty, and the mixed vegetables were also delicious. Would definitely recommend and return!! read more

We got some yuca fries, some empanaditas , chicken and we each got a drink. The yuca fries and drinks were ok but otherwise I would say pass. The entire meal was pretty average except the arepitas which were just bad. I had heard good things about this place so I was a little disappointed. I've been here a couple of times since and they've never disappointed, especially when it comes to the chicken. Come here for happy hour on the weekdays too! There's a lot of variety and drinks are moderately priced. SERVICE: 5/5 - I was impressed with the service here, especially since Chicken + Whiskey is a fast food establishment. Food prep and packaging is done assembly line style, so there's no wait time for food. If you order something that is made in on-the-spot in the kitchen, staff brings your food to your table. I noticed workers constantly cleaning tables and seats as well. Great to see! FOOD: - Pollo A La Brasa (Chicken Dark): 5/5 - By far, the best thing to get here!! I would rate it higher than Nando's chicken. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. - Sweet Plantains: 5/5 - Compliments saltier dishes like the sanguiches and chicken! I knew of this brand for it's speakeasy and hidden bar, but this new location switched it up the bar is clearly visible as the location is split into two haves of a choose-your-own adventure. The west side is a bar that is far from a speakeasy giant windows look out onto an alley and the ballpark entrance. During the day, it provides an open feel, but surprisingly, at night, the light seems somehow even brighter due to the lights in the alley and a neighboring apartment. In the back of the bar is a DJ booth that gives the place some energy, although there is not really room to dance (at least not with the opening weekend crowd). Pro-tip (bar) - at night, move to the back of the bar - the lack of windows gives a completely different, more intimate feel. Hopefully management will figure something out with those windows. In the east side is the chicken restaurant with its own tables and character. They serve Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken to be specific, and it does not disappoint. The sides are generally good and the choufa is an exceptional standout - it is slcertainlu worth repeat visits. Unfortunately, there was a little inconsistency in the quality of some of the other sides (i.e. plantain chips), but a second attempt found higher quality - standard opening weekend kinks. Pro tip (restaurant) - Don't forget that you can take your to-go order into Nats Park - An easy way to get excellent ballpark food. All in all, worth multiple visits. read more

At almost $20 now for a half chicken, this place is absurd. The chicken is so overcooked and overpriced, I choose to cook for myself. If you like chicken breast that tastes like sawdust go for it. I wasn't really a fan of the 14th Street location but I really like the Navy Yard location of Chicken & Whiskey. The food is always tasty, though I prefer my chicken to be cooked more. I'm personally not a fan of pink chicken so I tend to stick with the wraps instead of bone-in rotisserie chicken. The drinks, however, are fantastic. I actually prefer the bar area over the restaurant, it's a lot more lively and the music is great. The Old Fashioned here is also one of the best I've had in the area, though I have yet to try a drink here that I didn't like. read more

I was a big fan of chicken and whiskey before trying. It always appealed to me and I finally made it into one before one of the Nats games. The ideal place for a quick bite before the Nats games as it sits 50 yards from The stadium in walking distance. Extremely convenient with a ton of outdoor and indoor seating. I will say it was a bit confusing where to order. You kind of have to order as you get. Your main at the first window then sides and sauces as you head along the line to the cash registers. I went with the Pollo frito and it was very good, next time I'd like to try the dark meat half chicken which looked amazing and the Mac and cheese also looked killer. The churro doughnuts were good. Not spectacular but a tasty mix from savory to sweet. Overall a convent and high quality place with great options for food and some drinks too. read more

A fun spot to grab food and alcohol! To the right, you have a fast-casual restaurant vibe, but to the left is a great bar. You can't go wrong if you're drinking and eating great food. Pineapple Old Fashioned - I loved this fruity taste on a classic drink. They even light it on fire for you! Mac N Queso - A delicious mac and cheese. If you really love mac and cheese I recommend getting the Mac N Queso Con Pollo! Yuca Fries - Thin and crispy! Place is great!!! Very clean and lots of dining area. Came here on monday after Christmas and was not crowded. The food was excellent! The staff very friendly. Difficult part was finding parking. We had an assortment! The half chicken was very tasty, had a smoky flavor. The rice paired well and plantains were also good. Chicken tenders were crispy and paired well with the aauces. My wife loves arepas and loved hers except it was a but spicy. The arepa was very crispy. The dessert was good. The churros donuts were good loved the flavor and chocolate. I'm a frequenter of the one on 14th street and as soon as I saw one open up next door I had to come look! It's brand spanking new and bigger for sure. I came on a beautiful fall day so I was able to appreciate the open windows to the outside. I ordered my go-to pollo frito which was delicious. I'm a simple guy. Definitely a good spot if you're looking for outside seating. Good spot to grab a quick bite as well as hang with friends the morning after a night out. Finally got around to trying this restaurant, and boy am I glad we did! I highly recommend the Pisco Punch! I tried the pork belly and comadre arepas, yucca fries, and chicken wings. There aren't any extreme over powering flavors, but everything hits the flavor profile flavors they should to qualify as delicious food. The wings were super crispy yet not in the least bit dry. I love that these are Latine style wings that are NOT breaded. The skin was wonderfully seasoned and crunchy like chicharrón! Be sure to squeeze the lime on the wings for a really enjoyable flavor. The yucca fries were crispy on the outside and pillowy inside. The fries didn't require a dipping sauce. The arepas were great and very filling. I particularly enjoyed the Comadre. The service was quick but that is to be expected based on the walk through style of the restaurant. This bar/restaurant was very easy to get to from the Nationals stadium, which was one of the reasons we came, and overall we had a decent experience. You can pick to sit on either the bar or the restaurant side, but I would recommend the bar since they have the full menu and much better ambience. We were able to order pretty quickly, and the bartender was very nice. We got the Thai One On (a Thai tea whiskey cocktail), the ODB, and the 1/4 chicken with yuca fries and arepitas. The drinks were super delicious, but the food was highly fair. We didn't get much sauce for our sides, the arepitas were really hard, and the yuca fries could have been crispier/more flavorful. However, I liked the chicken and the aji Amarillo sauce, and the yuca fries weren't bad overall. In all, this wouldn't be top of my list to go to, but it's not a bad place for a drink after coming from the ballpark. read more

This location is right across the street from the baseball stadium and the perfect spot for before or after game meals/drinks. I live in the Navy Yard, and I went on a random Wednesday afternoon for a late lunch. I have been looking forward to trying this new location out and it did not disappoint. The restaurant was spotless clean, and the staff was friendly and efficient. I ordered 1/2 Chicken White and for the sides I selected Arroz Chaufa and Mac N Cheese. The portions are very generous. I brought more than half of my lunch home for dinner. The Mac and Cheese was delicious. It has a little kick to it and the spice makes it next level. The Arroz Chaufa was very well seasoned and was my favorite part of the meal. The chicken was good, but a little pink for me. In the future I will ask for it well done. Assorted sauces are available to compliment the meal. The prices are extremely fair for the area and it's definitely one of the best values to be found this close to the ballpark.
