I was physically jumped by 5 or 6 females in this establishment on Thursday.. The bouncers didn't do anything to stop the attack and the band continued to play . I had to get the strength to get up off the floor to walk out of the place . I was kicked and punched in the head and not one bouncer came to stop the attack . As I walk to the exit here comes a bouncer out of nowhere after beaten to a pulp . I stopped at this location during brunch hours, it's a pretty spacious venue, nice decor with multiples bars and tv's. They also had an r&b and rap oriented playlist going at the time. There wasn't too much traffic in terms of customers but I think that was mostly due to the time of day. I was able to get bar seating and service overall was solid, the bartender was attentive and made a couple of recommendations. Their brunch menu features entrees like breakfast sandwiches, steak & eggs, French toast, a variety of omelette options, and burritos with prices ranging from $17-$33 per item. I decided on the chicken & waffle which comes with a chicken thigh but I was allowed to substitute that for a breast instead. The food came out quickly and all in all a fairly good dish: the waffle was fluffy and the breading for the chicken breast was very well seasoned. The restaurant was not very full so we kinda felt like the only people there. The servers were very nice but the service was a little slow. We ordered the nachos as an appetizer and they were ok. I had the steak and eggs for my brunch meal which was really good! The steak was huge and cooked very well. I also really liked the breakfast potatoes. Overall the food was good but it sounds like they are still making some improvements since they're somewhat new. Definitely think it would be worth to revisit! read more

"Highway robbery during Happy Hour!" I went to 14th Street Lounge expecting a decent happy hour experience but was completely shocked by the prices. They charged $23 at the end of my bill for TWO CANS of Modelo--and this was supposed to be during happy hour! Not even a draft pour, just two cans. Insane. This level of price-gouging is beyond absurd, especially considering there are plenty of great spots in D.C. that don't exploit their customers like this. The atmosphere wasn't even impressive enough to justify the outrageous prices. Definitely won't be coming back. Save your money and go somewhere else where they actually value their patrons. read more

We came here for brunch on a Sunday. Our experience was terrible. We ordered bottomless mimosas and they were so slow bringing out refills. We ordered food at 1:30pm and it didn't come out until close to 4:00pm. We never received our full order and the sides/modifications were wrong. Guests that arrived after us got their food before us. There was also a 20% surcharge included on all bills. The ambiance also was horrible. It was so loud in there we had to plug our ears and couldn't even talk to each other. I was in the mood for a burger and live near by. My usual spot in the neighborhood is Jojos but they were closed today and figured let me give this new place a try. When I arrived there was one other person there having wine and myself. I ordered a basil Hayden old fashioned ($22) and a burger. Again, there's two of us in there. The burger took about 25 minutes to get to me. The other person there got her fries like 3 minutes before I got my burger. I ordered my burger medium well. I get it and ask what all the red dripping was all over. The food runner who brought it said let me ask the bar tender who was on the phone. 5 minutes later the bartender comes up to me and asks "what's wrong with the food" and I said, what's all this red stuff. He said, "oh I think they made it meduim rare:" I explained that's not how I wanted it, so he takes it back to remake. The woman beside me gave me a look like "girl run" and shortly after she did too without finishing her fries and only her wine. I took my cue from her and asked for the check and headed over to bus boys. The bar area was also not clean with a bunch of glass stains, again - 2 people at the bar and one person who came in to pick up an order. May go back for a drink, but never the burger. read more

As a place that is working towards a reputation of good food and drinks, it has some work to do - but I'm hopeful. I met a friend at 7:30p. The restaurant was very slow but the music was very loud! I felt like I was yelling the entire time. I'm sure the volume was to attract people as they strolled past on 14th but my goodness! I ordered the crab mac and cheese. I couldn't see the crab but I could taste it. Not bad... Friend ordered a quinoa salad. He ate it all so presuming it was good. I also ordered an espresso martini - it was realllly strong. Overall, I hope it stays around. I'll try again in a few weeks, once they've settled in a bit more. read more

Stopped here for dinner before a a show at Lincoln Theatre. The food and service was great. Pablo behind the bar made us some wonderful drinks. We will be back for sure. The food was amazing but the service was just as stupendous! The vibrant energy and the great people make coming back a must. The lamb chops were a steal and so delicious with a sauce that compliments them so well!The bartenders are the best and the house frozen drinks were to die for! The cohesiveness of the staff is exhilarating and you can tell they are family. Everything about this restaurant makes it a must try and make yourself a regular! I've been to V14 Street Lounge a few times since it opened about year. I didn't have a great experience when it first opened and it's sad to say that it has not improved. Way overpriced drinks, slow service (even when empty), and overall bad vibes and terrible Djs. Out of all the great places on 14th street, I recommend only going here at last resort especially at the expensive price point. read more

The lady bartender is beyond rude! Kept rolling her eyes because she couldn't hear what I was asking for. It's definitely not my fault the music is so loud. Cute vibe, it wasn't too crowded. Went right after work on a Friday. The crowd picked up around 11. The hookah and drinks were cool. Really good drinks actually. The food wasn't great and wouldn't recommend I got the fried chicken sandwich, bread was stale. Fries were good though read more
