While shopping in the mosaic district, we saw this great little jam because they had a sign outside that said walking, cocktails, meaning you could purchase a cocktail and they fixed it in this great to go cup with a lid so that you could take it in the stores and still shop without worrying about it spilling. I had an amazing blueberry Cosmo and my aunt enjoyed a delicious peach mimosa. It's a nice spot. A good spot to just plop down and enjoy an old fashioned or a whiskey flight. It is pricey though, especially when you want a pour of the better stuff. Sometimes the pour is like 25% of the cost of a bottle. A bit shocking. Stopped in here on a whim while in the Mosaic shopping area on a Saturday with a friend. While the name is whisky room they have a variety of spirits. The place definitely gives speakeasy vibes and personally reminded me of Amsterdam. I loved the ceiling high shelving and ladders. It has that dark wood vibe while still feeling open because of the windows and the layout. This place is smaller than you'd expect for the middle of Mosaic but they do a good job with the traditional dark pub decor while still having plenty of light. We didn't have any food so I can comment on that but they do have an extensive bourbon/whiskey/scotch collection along with some other spirits. We had their old fashioned and it was a classic tasty, strong and enjoyable beverage, they didn't skimp on the bourbon but they oddly also don't list what bourbon they use on the menu. So you're left wondering which of their over 700 options they use. The old fashioned is $8 during happy hour 4-7 everyday. The bartender was really busy since he was initially the only one working there until reinforcements arrived but he did a great job taking care of all the bar and tables/booths as well. I wouldn't make a special trip to Mosaic just to come here but it's definitely worth a try if you're in the area and are in the mood for a drink. read more

It's been several years since I came to this place. I was nearby and decided to walk in during happy hour. I was immediately greeted and sat at the bar. I was given a menu. The bartender was helpful in answering my drink questions. I got the Maple Rose which is a bourbon sweet and honey drink that was easy to drink. During my interaction with him, I found his behavior to be extremely rude and unprofessional. His attitude made me feel uncomfortable and, unfortunately, came across as discriminatory. Regardless of personal circumstances or a difficult day, all customers should be treated with respect and professionalism. I am very disappointed with the experience and believe this matter should be reviewed by management. I intend to contact corporate to ensure my concerns are properly addressed. The place is small but we were seated quickly at the last open table in the whiskey room. Loved the vibe, it felt like an English pub, noisy and cozy. I don't leave reviews often but I have to share my experience because it is dangerous. We came for happy hour and ordered the platter on the menu - wings, chicken tenders, shrimp. I ate a wing and it appeared to be pretty undercooked. I turned on the flashlight on my phone (it was dark in the bar area or I would've notice earlier) and they were clearly raw on the inside. By the time I realized, my boyfriend already ate 2 and they were more pink than mine. This is completely unacceptable. I told the bartender and she just said okay I'm sorry. On top of that, when we first sat down, we weren't even acknowledged for the first 10 minutes. I was willing to let that go until I was served raw chicken. The rest of my party got rye which is a limited selection and unfortunately one of my other friends did not like the cinnamon whiskey they provided, malarkey, as opposed to fireball. Went on to further state I don't mind Smokey don't like peaty. That was received with I have more than 150 whiskies. You are going to have to provide me more to work with buddy. We got up and walked out as the bar tender tried to say he wasn't rude. They expect you to know exactly what you want immediately. This is not the place to inquire or learn anything. Complete opposite from when they first opened. The food menu has always been good but don't waste your time if you are looking for a fun experience. Place is basically small and crowded not great for large groups. And yes we did see the bartender pick up of the large ice cube with his hands and stir the whiskey with his finger. Great way to try them out if you're not certain what to get. The atmosphere is amazing. They had some apps and specific cocktail specials which was great. We were seated pretty much immediately and I loved the inside space. I felt immediately transported to a tavern or old library. I absolutely loved the decor. The menu was on an iPad which was interesting, but pretty easy to navigate and our server had some great recommendations. Made a stop here during the Blooms Festival that was happening at the same time. My friends and I saw a sign that promoted their Kikori Sakura Whiskey Drink. We wanted to sit down for a bit after walking around and checking out the various booths. Walking in, I felt like I was transported to a library, or a really neat looking tavern type of aesthetic! We got sat promptly, admiring how pretty this venue is. Already deciding on what we wanted, my friends ordered their drinks while I got my whisky. My drink came out in such an interesting look. It's all pink with actual sakura petals on top which made it all prettier to take photos with. After my phone ate, I took a sip and immediately realized that it wasn't bitter. It was really strange. Drinking whiskey always felt like there was a strong aftertaste to it but this was smooth. The top was foamy as well and it masked off most of the drink until I made my way to the bottom of the drink. And that's when I went, " Ohhhh, there's the whiskey. My coworkers and I had a night cap at MacMillan Whiskey Room. It was a nice bar and one of the few places in the area that closed late (at midnight). The place was pretty busy for a Wednesday night, and it got to a point when a staff member had to ask us back for a chair that we took from another table for our large party. I made an appointment about a week in advance for a birthday celebration. Table was ready when we arrived. The place was lively and vibrant, I was instantly drew to a celebratory mood. There is a sizable bar with ceilings height shelves of libations and about 12 tables in the whole place, so advanced reservations is a must. Our wait staff was fantastic. She is patient and also knowledgeable in the menu and helped make recommendations. Unfortunately they don't do birthday celebration nor any candles to put on desserts we ordered. Otherwise this is a great place to hangout and get acquainted with whiskey. Food was good and on par with other great bars. Our friends suggested this little place of a gem prior to a showing of a movie across the street at the Angelika Film Center. My biggest complaint with salmon is that at many places, they are often too dry. There are a few places that do it right and this place has done it. I loved the sweet bourbon sauce on my salmon. Every bite was just perfect. My partner ordered the fish and chips and thought it was also well done. The batter on this fish was crunchy and tasty. The place is small. There is not much seating inside or out. Reservations are a must. Service was fantastic. Our server came back several times to check on us and to make sure we all had our food and that it was correct. After the movie, when we had to walk by the Whisky Room again, we noticed that the people sitting at our table had a nice fire pit on the table.
