Now, it feels like they're treated more like dollar signs than human beings. Leadership has lost sight of the compassion and dignity that once made this organization worth believing in. The growing reliance on law enforcement is especially disappointing for an organization that is supposed to provide safety and support. I once believed deeply in this organization. I don't anymore, and that is probably the most disappointing part.

Outreach (CCAT) and Safe Space went no police calls 3 years ago. It is a safe environment for folks to have shelter a decent meal and much needed rest. IT IS A COME AS YOU ARE NOT A DO AS YOU WANT. Everyone is appreciative and the folks bring new light to our vast amount of volunteers. Over 400 per season. I am proud to support Safe Space. About people saying that Safe Space allows folks to roam the neighborhoods is a false statement. Once in they must stay in. There is no reentry of you leave. Maybe if folks would observe or just believe if it best for folks to not use or drink all night and be safe from the elements. The roamers are NOT safe space guests. There is specific smoking sections on the property and if you are caught doing what is against the rules YES they are held accountable.

Unfortunately CHIPS has a bad habit of renting to people with substance abuse problems, behavioral health issues. That caused issues for the rest of the tenants in the complex. Public housing is supposed to be drug-free. I don't know why they don't drug test the tenants before and during their tenancy. Especially the ones that go out of their way to cause trouble governmental subsidies provided to these people play the presidents over a safe and pleasant living environment for those who obey by the rules.

This place is beyond amazing, and I am so happy to have such great care given to my children while my husband and I are working. Its a clean, cozy, and welcoming environment for learning and having fun for the most special little people in our lives! To just throw it over the top, theres a covered patio area giving the kids room to play without having to be 100% exposed to the extreme weather we experience in Chico, and the outside play area gives them so much room to run around and have a good time. Denise has selected the sweetest staff who seem like they honestly love what they do and value their time spent with the kids. As someone who constantly seems to have a concern about something, I have zero about Enchanted Play and the quality of care given to the kids here. We currently have an 11 month old and a 3 year old enrolled here, and we are beyond happy!

They feed the kids homemade fresh meals, which helps parents in the never ending quest to broaden their palettes! They have tons of outside time in their very safe and functional backyard. And my favorite part of it all is the circle time, learning games, and arts and crafts activities they do daily. They teach the kids letters and number and do fun science and math projects to keep them learning while having fun. They also do naps every day which is both amazing and admirable (my son refuses to nap at home these days). Denise has watched my 6 and 3 year old since they were babies and they both dearly love her and teachers, which is proof what they are doing is working.

And no, it's not okay. Caregivers are with clients for an allotted amount of time, and often cannot surpass that, so it is a massive deal when medical practices dont have their crap together like this. It's really embarrassing.
