Went in to see Carla for the very first time last week as I had injured myself at the gym and couldn't move my neck without a lot of pain. Went In for a "knot" treatment and it was intense but Carla was careful and deliberate with her treatment. For a second I almost thought it hadn't worked because the next day I still had a lot of pain, but the following day all my pain was gone so I realize now that the pain I was feeling the day before was soreness from the massage. I recently underwent a major surgery in southern California and on the flight home I was in so much pain. In need of a lymphatic drain massage as well as a general relaxation relief, I immediately hooped on the phone to google local massage therapist who could help me. I had a bit of trouble finding someone who A, knew how to and B willing to even try. Luckily I came across Carla and and sooooo thankful that I did. Upon my arrival, Carla and I talked in depth about my needs as I was 5 days post-surgery. She was warm, kind, very soothing, and straight forward. She understood how much pain I was in, was honestly interested in helping me feel better and making sure that I felt better and more importantly felt relief from the pressure pains I was feeling as a result of fluid buildup. She gave me quite possibly the best massage I have ever had in my life. Carla combined various techniques from the massage and physical therapy worlds, and I left Carla's office feeling like a new human being. She worked my back out in ways that no other massage therapist or physical therapist has been able to, and it has led to results that have lasted longer than a few hour's. I continued to go to her 2/3 times a week over the next 8 weeks religiously. With her help I did not have to return to my surgeon in southern California for revision or to surgically release the fluid buildup. Not to mention the knots, lumps and muscle tightness that she had to deal with in the mix as well. I just had my third fantastic massage with Carla. I often get pain in my neck and shoulders due mostly to damage from working 30+ years at a desk job. Carla is very patient and takes the time to talk with you to find out the cause of your pain. As another reviewer mentioned, Carla is very knowledgeable about how our muscles work, and will go over the scheduled time to work on an area that really needs it. Carla told me it is actually tight pectoral muscles causing most of the pain in my shoulders since they pull my shoulders forward, so she did a lot of work loosening them up with deep tissue massage in addition to a soothing shoulder, neck, back, hands and feet massage. Carla is amazing. She made an appointment for me the next day (which I didn't realize until after was her day off). She was patient, informative, thorough and most of all, understanding and caring. This is the first experience I've had with massage therapist where I didn't leave feeling ashamed for my bad posture. I know I have bad posture and I need to work on it, but Carla was caring and didn't make me feel like it was my fault and until I get my life together I'll never escape my pain. She dedicated plenty of time to me at an incredibly fair price (ridiculously fair, to be honest) and gave me honest (and super helpful!) tips on self care in the future. Carla gives an amazing massage! I was in a lot of pain in my shoulder, neck, and mid back. She took the time beforehand to find out what I was concerned about and my history. You can tell she is very knowledgeable about how our muscles work. She did deep tissue work on me, but made sure I was ok with that before hand which I appreciated. Carla has a nice place. My daughyer bought me 60 minutes for an hour. I told Carla I have a special spot I'd like you to work on. She suggested 90 minuyes so we can. "really get those spots deep." She never touched that area. Never went deep anywhere. Carla DID NOT DELIVER AT ALL. Wont be returning for any reason. VERY DISSAPOINTED. read more
