I've known Nikki since high school and got reacquainted with her when I was in dire need of any help to stop my daily migraines during my pregnancy. I have suffered from chronic migraines, occipital neuralgia, loss of lordosis, migralepsy, daily tension headaches, chronic muscle tension and inflammation in my neck and traps from car accidents and a boat tubing accident since 2014. I have done countless occipital nerve blocks, trigger point injections, nerve ablations and Botox at UC Davis to try to control the pain. For a few years it worked up until I had to stop all treatments in hopes of having a child. My husband and I went through 4 miscarriages with hormone treatments before we were blessed with our little miracle baby girl, Reagan. Stoping all the procedures put me at a HUGE step back! I think I'm even worse than when I first started treatments at UC Davis. I have done physical therapy for almost 3 years straight, massage 1-2 times a week for 3 years as well as acupuncture once a week. My previous massage therapists did help but not enough. My pain is never taken away, but massage is one of the most helpful things during a migraine attack or neck muscle flare up! I just wasn't satisfied anymore with the therapist I had been seeing for years. She got lazy with her work. I became a steady paycheck for her and she knew I needed her help and I wouldn't ever miss my appts because I was so desperate for any bit of relief! That being said, I started seeing Nikki. She understands what needs to be done. Where to press, where your trigger points are, where the pain is originating from etc. without even having to really tell her. When she works on you, you get her FULL attention. Something I wasn't getting with my last massage therapist. The thing I love about Nikki is that she can use very hard pressure. My inflammation is so deep, normal deep tissue massages aren't even hard enough. Nikki is so knowledgeable and studies to keep her mind fresh in ways to help someone and how the muscles and nerves etc work in a human body. She is very kind and genuine. Someone that TRULY wants to help you. Even tho the car ride back to oroville flared me back up, I left my massage the other week saying I don't really feel a headache. I have not said that in over a year! I was able to hold my daughter for 10-15 minutes. Something I'm not able to do often. I know my healing needs to come from surgery and procedures; but the temporary relief in order to try to have quality of life is amazing from her. She does what she can to help me and even if I'm always still in pain, she takes it down dramatically for that time being. Also, I'm extremely sensitive to light, sound, and smell. Her room is VERY inviting! Nice and dark, quiet and no air fresheners or candles going that would trigger a migraine attack. It's a very relaxing room with a calming vibe. If you're anything like me or just looking for a massage therapist near by, Nikki is the one to see! You won't regret it!! read more
