Zoom Drain offered to come out and look at my yard pipe (there was water build up from all this rain and it just seemed a bit clogged) without any charges. And it looks like I'm just at the cusp of their service so I'm super glad I found them. So with my pipe, with all the rain there was some water build up. It didn't seem too bad so I went with the cheapest quote (should have known better) since I figured it's just to snake the drain/pipe. As soon as that other person/business came out, it went from $93 to $250... then they told me they couldn't do it, and I had to hydro jet for about 3 times more the cost than Zoom Drain! Or to replace my pipes altogether for $8000!!!!!!! Given they had very little review I wanted a second opinion and additional quotes. I know Zoom Drain would come out free of charge so I immediately contacted them and they came out the same day! Literally just a couple of hours after I contacted them. Maurice came out and he was professional, patient, just super duper nice. He explained why there was water build up and how it's normal! Basically my drain for my yard pipes is just too high up on my front yard, and places like San Francisco even drill holes into the sidewalk to drain. But as long as I'm not flooded anywhere, there's no issue. He checked everything and even if I needed to hydro jet it was about 1/3 of the cost the other place quoted me! He didn't even offer to snake my drain since the other business tried but "failed" and told me I needed to replace my pipes... *insert side eye emoji right here* I did end up asking Maurice to run diagnostics, he tested all my drains and everything was working normally. And that's it. Saved myself a whole bunch of money. Would have saved myself a lot of time/stress too if I just went to them in the first place. Lesson learned. All I can say to Zoom Drain is: thank you thank you thank you! And a big thanks to Maurice!

We called JDK for the same issue we had experienced a year prior, which generally has to be performed once a year after our rainy season begins. Being as he had done the job before we just assumed he would arrive prepared. He tried to fit us in immediately because he would be passing our home on the way back to Redding and would make a quick buck on the way. He arrived with no tools. No snake. Which was what the job required and he was told this when we called. He arrived and proceeded to shove our garden hose in the pipe, which then became stuck. After two hours, I intervened and shut that down and asked that he return with the appropriate tools. He returned the next day with the snake. The woman that accompanied him absolutely tore our lawn to shreds spinning his truck tires. He snaked the pipe, but spent most of the time sitting in his truck because his "hands were cold". We paid him $275. The next day we had to call him because the situation was not improved. We called him to return to complete the work. We have spoken with him several times by phone and there is always some excuse. Witness in a court case. His friend had his phone and he couldn't make or receive calls. He had to stay up all night on a job at the casino. Two weeks of phone tag and excuses. Finally arrived on Monday. Spent 10 minutes snaking the line and left. Hopefully this time fixes it. Very unreliable. Will never call on this business again.
