We arrived 20 minutes late but she was so professional - she shortened and made the check in process so easy. There was a cabin with fire where you can change since Deer Mountain was quite cold and was snowing that day desolate the snow drought. She was mega attentive and taught us everything and told us exactly where we were going. She took couple of pictures for us and explained what we'll see had it not been so foggy. On the way back when we stopped at a viewpoint my boyfriend accidentally accelerated and we toppled right where the cliff started - Michele rushed over and helped us up and we genuinely concerned for our well being. We're so grateful she was our guide and can't recommend her enough. She's an amazing person with a beautiful smile and we definitely suggest everyone go snowmobile with her, especially first timers!

Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing, mainly due to poor planning by the staff. We booked for four people on a Thursday - my wife, myself, and our two teens (14 and 16)--with the expectation that we'd have two boats, which is standard for this group size. However, the team miscounted the boats that morning. When we pointed this out, instead of fixing the mistake, they pulled us aside and crammed all four of us into a boat intended for three, squeezing in an extra seat to make it "fit." Visibly frustrated, the team promised to speak with the owner and make it right (it was two high schoolers running it that day). I didn't argue and wanted to at least try to have a good time and not be that Dad. The result on the boat? A very cramped and uncomfortable setup that made the inflatable much harder to steer and navigate--especially on a 9-mile river trip. This wasn't the experience we paid for or expected based on our prior trips. The staff seemed more focused on moving us along rather than making it right. Still haven't heard from the owner. It was about 2 hours and 45 min from San Jose and the exit is right of I-80 (exit 156). You pay $30 at the Shell station and park and play. We came on 3/29 (Sat) and there were only 10 cars from about 11 am - 2 pm. The Shell station has a Taqueria but we had brought our own food. This is a perfect place if you have kids and just want to do some chill play time without any fuss. The snow wasn't fresh but we were fine with it because the sun was our and it was only 48 degrees. I even took off my jacket. This is a family friendly atmosphere and everyone was really nice. There are several porta potties but we didn't use them because we used the gas station ones when we paid our snow parking fee. I recommend bringing your lunch and snacks- the parking lot had a tailgate vibe. Only thing I wish they had prominent trash and recycle bins. We borrowed the boogie boards but the gas station also sold them. I highly recommend checking their website which has link to CalTrans website and a live webcam to check snow conditions.

We arrived mid morning on a sat, paid $20 to park, then told the cashier guy the 2 kids wanna sled (they picked sledding over tubing, charged us $50 for 2 kids to do the sledding. Mid afternoon we go to car to take a water break and on the way back in a 16yo kid asked to see our passes. Showed the kids pass and he then proceeded to tell us we needed to pay another $30 for "spectator passes" say what!? Now, You want me to pay you to stand there and not sled? at the end of the day? Why didn't the cashier tell us that in the morning when we bought the passes? I wouldve went somewhere cooler like Soda or a free spot. There was a group of parents standing at the top watching their kids and nobody had a "spectator pass" ITS A SCAM.
