Finally a running store east of the River!!!…read more This is the third location that Sound Runner has opened in Connecticut, and after hearing so many wonderful things from my shoreline runner friends about this store I was happy to finally have a location close by. As soon as Mark C and I walked in we were greeted by an plesant employee asking how he could be of assistance. I was not in the market for a new pair of shoes but my husband wanted to try out a pair of Hoka Hoka One's which we were told the Glastonbury location carried. While Mark C was outfitted with not just a pair Hoka Hoka One shoes but several other options, I perused the store for things I "had to have". I was impressed with the location's tastefully lines walls and racks containing variety of men's and women's apparel and accessories as well as anything else you might need to make your run possible such as fuel and lighting. In the end Mark C ended up with a pair of shoes and I ended up with some "must have" items (socks and fuel), but I will definitely be back as the store starts getting the Run Club and Pub Runs underway.

I popped in to check out this new running store in town, and I was super psyched. Although the…read morespace is small, they do a good job storing carrying everything a runner might need, including various types of water bottles; winter wear; gus, gels, and chews; and even a full wall of Crocs-like sandals. (Ok, I found this latter item a bit unnecessary, if only because there are lots of other types of sandals and flip flops out there.) They have a moderate selection of shoes and various types of attire, including non-chafing underwear. A guy in the store was getting a very in-depth primer on finding the best running shoes, and he even was allowed to take a jog outside before committing to a pair. They appear to have occasional running groups and "tune-ups," and I look forward to checking them out.

This is nice a TJ Maxx that's only a few minutes away from Main Street in Glastonbury…read more It's not a big store, but it's well packed with items for men, women, kids, pets, and home. With the holidays quickly approaching, there's plenty sparkly holiday gear, as well as "Ugly" Christmas sweaters. There's a nice variety of holiday decor for your home. Depending when I go, the line to checkout can be pretty long, but they have several cashiers working, so it's a pretty quick process.

The store manager, Susan Jordon, was so upbeat, energetic, friendly, and made my shopping experience one of the best I've had in a very, very long time. I came in to return an order of 4 pants I purcahsed online as a first time customer at J.Jill, I wasn't sure what size to order. Susan simply explained that I was ordering way too big and helped me find the perfect work pant for my new job. She set me up comfortably in a fitting room and brought me endless options to try - taking all the guesswork out of shopping, she picked out items that she thought would fit me well. Once we found the perfect fit, she found the pant in every color they had and went above & beyond to find me the only black pair left in a back stock room (double checking the computer inventory one last time before checking out). She was so friendly & kind - she was a complete joy to shop with. You don't run into this level of customer service at most retail stores. Susan is a tremendous asset to your brand and the company would do well if she traveled to other stores to spread her contagious attitude and friendly service! Job well done, Susan! We had to stumble through figuring out the best size and explicitly ask for advice on which shoe to pick. Maybe I am nostalgic for the olden days, where I'd get lots of attention in a brick-and-mortar shoe store. I guess if you're ok figuring out some things for yourself, the selection here is good and worth checking out. Not only was there a gorgeous array of styles and colors, but due to sales I ended up with 7 items of clothing and some jewelry.. The manager, Yalena was awesome! She helped me choose, gave me honest feedback and generally made it a great experience. When I needed to return a pair of sandals there was no hassle.
