Very bright and clean store with some good quality items. Some are priced a little higher than expected as the name brand items are there but I would have thought there'd be as little more of a discount as a consignment store. There was a store wide 25!'% of all items sale so that was nice. Not too bank knickknacks and more clothing and shoes and bags here. read more

I've been going into Consignment Originals since they opened their doors. It was the greatest when Chris was the manager. The last few times,its been trash,nothing special not good quality. They have basically removed all gifts and furniture. I will never go back or my friends and family. A real let down and boring store to shop at. This is the sign of a bad manager. I've been buying from this store for over 10 years and have always had a great experience with employees and finding good stuff. Today, the new manager Sarah was extremely rude to me and everybody in the store. She acts like the world revolves around her and has no respect for anyone. She doesn't know how to treat customers or her staff. I'm not going back until she's gone. read more

I purchased a pair of boots a few hours ago. Walked outside with them and the soles immediately fell off in pieces making them completely useless. I called the store and the only way they would credit my account would be for me to drive back there another 1.5 hours TODAY round trip. The would not accept pictures or allow me to go to a closer location. I realize they have a no return policy, but really? BEWARE of crap they sell. I wish I could post a picture here. After having an extremely positive shopping experience at Consignment Originals of Rocky Hill these past 12 years, I highly recommend it for shoppers wanting stylish items at amazingly affordable prices along with earning funds through consigning. For years now I have picked up home decor, handbags, clothing, scarves, jewelry, shoes, and gift items at a fraction of their original prices. Brands such as Ralph Lauren, J Crew, Talbots, Coach, or Eileen Fisher are featured, often with original tags. Because of the ample size of this store, there's a plethora of whatever it is you're looking for- like men's wear, maternity, art, kids' clothing, boots, candles, pillows, lamps, furniture, etc. At all times the staff members have been knowledgeable, friendly, and ready to go the extra mile to be helpful. I recall how after misplacing my keys there one afternoon, the staff kept searching until they found them among the shoes. Last week when I noticed a cut on my finger from a cooking knife, a staff member cleaned & bandaged it. When searching for tops & jewelry to match an unusual color, I got all the help I needed. I have found this store to be a favorite place to earn loyalty points, find amazing deals, fill my wallet with extra cash after consigning, & to know the amazing managers by their first names just as they know me as Cindi. It's easy for me to give Consignment Originals in Rocky Hill the highest ratings because it offers everything a shopper needs- excellent customer service, high quality items at low prices, high return when consigning, and a clean, well organized & friendly environment. So rude. My mother and I walked in (my mother on crutches by the way) and we were all but forced out. Met by loud, obnoxious comments by an old white lady with short hair and glasses about how they should shut the lights off so we would take a hint that they were closing. And then greeted a friend that walked in by loudly saying you'd be home "if you could ever get out of here". Don't want people to shop there? Lock your doors. Don't harass customers because YOU have a bad attitude. This place is disgusting to their customers, especially my DISABLED MOTHER. read more

I grew up in the next town over from where this consignment shop is located and although I moved to Maryland years ago, I make a point to visit this place whenever I see family in Connecticut. All my visits over the years - I always leave with items, especially tops. They have a great selection (even some known labels if that's your thing) and prices that I love. If you want a deal for women's clothes, there are racks toward the back of the store that have mark downs. And beyond clothes, this place sells housewares. Other things to know: easy to find parking and they do have specials (their facebook page can give you a heads up on that info) If you like consignment shopping, this is a great place to go to. Oh my Gosh, if you enjoy consignment shopping, this store is basically a fashion amusement park. I have never seen such an eclectic variety of high-quality brands, at astonishingly good prices, in one store. I picked up nine items--including an Anthropologie skirt--for a total of $84. The store had an energetic, upscale vibe. What was also really nice was that the staff exuded enthusiasm and passion for their store and for the clothes they sold. One employee told me that they have an upcoming bus trip, taking shoppers on a circuit to the five stores within their Connecticut-based brand. I live 2 hours away from this store... and I plan to go back in the near future. read more

Just spoke with LAURIE. The rudest person I've dealt with thus far. I called to ask about the consigning process, she was vague... curt and annoyed from the start.THEN I said "how does the buying process work", she replied, "if you go to our website you can find that information." *THINKING" "or not" Lolololol I replied, "or I can just ask you while I have you on the phone because I'm driving." She gasped then paused. She proceeded to explain leaving out the payment process. I said "how do you pay people" ... she explained with an apparent attitude. Forced. Rude. Exhausting interaction. I'll sell online. Wouldn't bother driving to a store and being MET with this kind of disposition. Smh. read more

Great selection of clothing and household items at a fair price. The only reason I took off a star is because of the service. Employees are very friendly, but there is no sense of urgency when checking out customers. I have experienced waiting in a long line on more than one occasion because the cashiers are taking their time and chatting, talking about specials, etc. They are very nice, but could really speed up the service by being a bit more efficient. Overall I love the store and will be back when it opens. read more

I have been acquainted with Lisa the manager in the past month and she is wonderful. I've noticed the women are much more pleasant and they work hard to make the shop look well and the changes they have made are wonderful. I was early for a nearby appointment so decided to stop in Consignment Originals. It had been years since going in, and I was surprised to find they have expanded the store to the space next door, and now sell furniture and lots of other home décor items. Since they expanded, it's not as cramped and crowded as their "competitor" consignment shop in town. As soon as I walked in, I noticed a bamboo bar cart in the window, marked $32 (perfect condition). There was also a sign that had all furniture & home items an extra 20% off! The item was not going to fit in my car, so they put it on hold for me (simple process). I absolutely love the cart - it's perfect, and I'm definitely glad I snatched it while I could. A week later I was browsing a new home store in Farmington, and saw the SAME exact one for $275!!?!?!?! Fabulous shop. Best in the area, hands down. Incredible finds....ranging from very high end/couture to fantastic everyday pieces. Housewares are great. If you are going for something specific, chances are - you'll find it. The staff is so nice and they really care about their customers. They have a great eye and know what's in style. If there was any way I could give this place a 0 star or 1/2 star rating, I would. While on vacation in Florida last week, I purchased a Tory Burch back pack from one of their retail stores. After wearing the bag only 3 times, I decided it was too small for all the stuff I have and I couldn't return it because I removed the tags, which was fine. So, I decided to go to Consignment Originals on Silas Deane highway to consign. I dropped my bag off at the counter and after returning 10 minutes later, the first question I was asked is "where did you get the bag from". When I told them I just bought it from a Tory Burch store, I was asked if I had a certificate of authenticity or proof of purchase because "now-a-days they're making fakes so good it's hard to tell the difference". I was completely floored. I told the person I had a receipt but, I also pointed out that it's not in their policy to require that in order to consign because I checked the policy on their website (side note: this purse could've been a gift, vintage, etc. in which case I wouldn't of had the receipt either. And people consign all the time without proof of purchase...But, I digress). But, the employee insisted that I provide proof because they couldn't tell if it was fake, even though it was in mint condition, perfect stitching, etc. She said every once in a while, they will ask for proof of authenticity, although it is not their policy. So, I asked her what made her ask for proof in my case and once again, she gave me the B.S. excuse of "because now-a-days you just can't tell if bags are fake". I was so offended at the suggestion that I was trying to consign a fake item that I took my bag and went to Uptown Consignments where the employee was able to authenticate and price my bag (since it's for Summer 2017) within 2 minutes. So, my advice to you is, if you are looking to consign here, be prepared to be profiled and treated with scrutiny and bias. My advice to Consignment Originals is, provide better customer service and find employees that know how to properly authenticate items. read more

I used to really love this shop. I both consigned and shopped here. Within the past year, though, it seems I have been getting less and less money for the same quality things I bring in. It is to the point where It is not worth loosing what I have to consign for the very little amount of money I will get in return. I will not be consigning with this shop anymore. Also, the last time I went in two of the employees snickered and joked in front of me when I accidentally gave them my wrong number. It was very rude and unwelcoming. read more

I love Consignment Originals in Cheshire, especially. The staff is lovely; extremely helpful & accommodating. Occasionally, they can be very particular about consigning an item, but in general they have taken most of my items. I have not only purchased clothes for myself & family, but pocketbooks & shoes, linens, household items, artwork, toiletries, & furniture. You can find anything from a t-shirt to a designer dress for incredible savings. I like the fact that they donate was is not sold. I often go just to browse. I call it my therapy, only cheaper! I haven't been to a more affordable & organized consignment store yet. read more
