Butter Knife provided to cut carne asada that made food fall on floor and off plate.
    Daniel S.

The food was fantastic! Kudos to the chefs! I received my food in record time! The presentation was on point. Unfortunately, I wish I could say the same for the service & menu. Service: I had to request a refill of my water 3 times. I usually put glasses at restaurants along the edges to signal. Upon receiving my food I realized I was given a butter knife to cut up my enchiladas & carne asada. I politely requested from the bartender/server to get a sharper knife. She said we don't have one. Carne asada is a tough meat. I then went to the To Go order area & requested a sharper knife. They still could not procure a sharper knife. So, I cut into my meal carefully, with this dull utensil & my food is falling off my plate on my clothes & making a mess while I was trying to cut up this carne asada. It was not an enjoyable experience. Menu: If you order extra meat and you have an order say with two enchiladas, you get charged twice. This was not clarified on the menu. I don't mind paying more. The issue is the menu is not written to be transparent with this extra charge. I ordered carne asada on my enchiladas & the bartender/server did not inform me the extra meat would be charged twice. In summary: Chico's Tacos historically has been a great place to go. However, it seems service has declined as well as properly equipping its patrons with appropriate silverware to eat their food with. The food was fantastic the service was subpar. I feel the management team would do good to implement more customer service training fit staff. I also feel the establishment needs to invest in silverware that is suited for the meals they are providing. I will give it a bit & visit again to see if they make changes worthy of their historical reputation & hopefully give them the review they used to be known for. Please do better Chico's Tacos. EDIT: In response to the owner's reply Thank you for your prompt response. I did want to mention that butter knives are not suitable for cutting carne asada, as they are not designed for tougher cuts of meat. Considering the investment in a new system, I would imagine that equipping the restaurant with appropriate utensils such as steak knives would be a reasonable and worthwhile addition for the comfort of your guests. Additionally, I'd like to clarify that the menu does not indicate that the $1.99 charge for carne asada is per enchilada it simply states "$1.99." Therefore, the pricing on the menu does not accurately reflect what I was ultimately charged. Updating the menu to clearly state that the charge is per enchilada could help prevent future misunderstandings. While $1.99 is a minor amount, clear and transparent pricing contributes significantly to a positive dining experience. I did notice the discrepancy at the time but chose not to dispute it. I hope this feedback is taken constructively and proves useful in enhancing the overall customer experience.

It had been a long time since I had eaten here. Since I was in the area and wanted good Mexican food, I stopped in for lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar area was quieter and less crowded so I went in and sat at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a draft Estrella Jalisco, 1 crispy shredded chicken taco with pico de gallo and one crispy ground beef taco. The beer was cold and the bartender gave me a bowl of warm chips to enjoy while waiting on my tacos. They have a great salsa bar with mild to hot salsa. There are also chopped onions and Cilantro. I mixed the medium and mild salsas and enjoyed them with my chips and tacos. The meat on both tacos were flavorful with plenty of shredded lettuce and cheese. The food was delicious and filling. No need for beans and rice.

Great service! Food is delicious and authentic. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Comfortable seating booth options available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lots of tasty fresh salsa options. Priced appropriately. Definitely not our first time there just wanted to post a review because I think it's a great place. I recommend, if you like tasty authentic Mexican food.

The Michelada was so good! The cheese enchiladas were good also. The sauce was pretty good. A little too tomato tasting to me. But still good. And the beef taco was perfect!

Chico's offers standard Western-style Mexican fare. Starting at 3:00 they offer a popular happy hour menu of half-priced apps and assorted drink specials. The inside gives a fast food vibe. You order at the counter, pick up complementary chips and salsa and wait for food. Alternately, you can head to the bar, enjoy a margarita until your food comes out. The house lime margaritas are cold and sweet. The chips are thin and fresh. The salsas are a little watery with assorted levels of spice. The pico is simple but very good. The Nachos are good with lots of toppings. They are easily sharable or a meal. The 4 Taquitos were really my favorite app, crunchy and filled with chicken and topped with fresh lettuce. The Flautas are also good with a lot of meat filling and crunchy flour tortilla wrap. Service is friendly and efficient. Food comes out quickly. Dining room is comfortable and clean.

Been here twice over Thanksgiving weekend! When we arrived into town on Black Friday- we rode 520 miles from San Diego taking a long route towards Wicken& Kingman. But, the weather we got at 3am- thickest fog and rain- had me in all my feels. So, I felt like some blended house margaritas were definitely earned! We had 20 minutes left to take a food Happy Hour. Decided to hang out on the adult side- LOVE how Chico's separates the bar area from the family area! I thought I ordered the taquitos from the HH menu- but, turned out, I said FLAUTAS! And man!! They are huge! Cut in halves... I even had the taco salad with ground beef- which was DELICIOUS! So, the next day- we had plans to meet family here! And yes! I did order another margarita and another taco salad with ground beef... because they are BOTH that good! This time we sat on the family side. When you sit at the family dining room, you walk up to the cashier to order first. When you in the bar area- it's full service.

Ask the Community - Chico's Tacos

    Do they have taco Tuesday?

Yes. Been doing it for quite sometime. Has become very popular. Try their street tacos. Absolutely delicious.

We're planning a trip and wanted to know if Chico's is currently requiring its customers to wear masks and if so, if it's something they are enforcing? Thanks very much!…

    No. Things have been relaxed.

Anyone use Chico's for catering? Price, quality and availability reviews would be great.?

Just used them saturday for birthday party! Food is good, presentation is good, but we were disappointed in the quantity of meat provided. Ordered taco bar for 25, only had…

However, after covid, the food and service went downhill and we finally gave up and hadn't been there for over 5 years. Yesterday I saw an ad that they'd be having food and drink specials for Cinco De Mayo today and decided we'd try again. Bad decision. We arrived at 10:30am. Fewer than a quarter of the tables were occupied. It appeared that all of the booth seating had been removed, which we prefer. We were instructed to seat ourselves, but couldn't find a table that didn't appear "sticky". We sat and then waited and waited and waited. Eventually they took our drink order and gave us a menu. There was no indication on signs or menus of ANY Cinco De Mayo specials, nor did our hurried waitress mention any. Had we not ordered a paid drink, we'd have left after seeing the new menu prices. The new clay drink cups were very bulky, cumbersome and did not sit flat on the tables. As someone with arthritis in my hands, I found them very difficult to lift. No one brought chips and we'd all but decided they must not be serving them at all. After about 15 minutes a gentleman brought chips to our table. There was literally 10 chips in the bottom of a basket for us to split. Long after we'd finished them, the man returned and asked if we wanted more. I said yes, but he never returned. Twice during our visit, we saw him run over to Food City to pick up supplies to bring back. It was another long wait before our meal was served and by this time the lunch crowd had started arriving. It got quite busy and we couldn't even get refills for our water glasses while we waited. Meanwhile, we saw a guy that appeared to be an owner/manager chatting with guests. He never came to our table, nor did he jump in to help when lines were forming at the register or when tables needed bussing for arriving guests. It took approximately 40 minutes to get our food while being inundated by smoke fumes from the kitchen and paint fumes from their apparent remodel. When the food finally arrived, we were not impressed by the portion size for the price. It was $12 for a mini chimi (no beans or rice) and was the size of a half burrito. Nothing else. It tasted ok, but was definitely not worth the price and it was quickly finished. We then waited again for the bill. The waitress picked up our plates and twice came by saying she'd be "right back" with the bill. She wasn't. Once we finally got the bill, we had to stand in line at the register and wait yet again. What happened to the Cinco De Mayo specials and why were they so unprepared??? Being a Mexican restaurant, this was your day to shine! This visit was incredibly stressful for us and we felt that they were extremely unorganized. It will be AT LEAST another 5 years before we try again.
