The Goddard School is in its own class of amazingness. You definitely get above what you pay for…read more(while the prices are higher than your average daycare, it is well worth it). Do not let the price make your final answer. Perks of Goddard: - Every teacher has a college degree - Your child will be in or around six months of his age, like my daughter is in a 3 - 3 1/2 room and she is almost 3 1/2. This is a huge factor to consider, not only will your child be learning everything they should at this milestone, they will be with there peers in the same age group all day long, you don't get this at any other childcare facility much less public school system setting. This is where your child will grow and thrive because they aren't stuck in a group of kids that range from a few months old to 5. - Structure - i can't say enough about how structure makes a huge attitude adjustment and just a good flow for your kiddo. Having a daily schedule and it being the same is a great routine for anyone even if your 30 or 80! - Nutrition - they have a monthly planner you can get and it will let you know exactly what your kid is eating daily. - Activities - there is a weekly themed activity. I remember one in particular such as learning about fire and what not, and they actually had a firetruck come out for a day for the kiddos to see. - Therapies - If your child has any sort of therapies that need addressed, you can have your own therapist come in at anytime and provide therapy for your child, they usually have a space that they can go to to provide care. These are just what I can think of at the moment! This place is beyond amazing...if you even just tour it you will not want to go anywhere else. If its even within or more than $100 of your budgeted amount...you should cut off a luxury item and give your kid some top notch care. Kuddos to Goddard...I hope I can keep my job long enough to keep my toddler in here until she graduates and goes to kindegarten.

Aowyn has been going to Goddard on and off now for the last 3 years and she always seems to develope awesome new skills and such while attending there. There are so many good things I have to say about this school, and oh yes I will go on, But if i miss anything I am truley sorry! lets start with the falcutly, they ROCK!, every morning they are always happy to see us and aowyn is just as excited to see them. I swear during interviews, morning person, must be a requirment! Always friendly and always there to help in anyway possible!! The school is very clean and rooms are always in order. somehow even rooms occupied with kids and the kids playing there isn't a mess to be found! I need to figure out how they do it! the playground and area to play outside seems just like the perfect amount of space and equipment! nothing cluttered, and there is ample amount of room to get the kids stretch out there legs. The price is very affordable, It can seem on the high end, but these are people who actually TEACH your child things, not just have them in their home for the day. I can't put a price on how my little girl is becoming so smart and the hours are awesome, and always open! :)

If you are looking for a place for your child/children to be neglected, this is the place for you…read more After countless issues with the teachers, directors and most of all the owners of The Early Years, Inc. we have removed our children from this place. I cannot even call it a daycare after the amount of negligence they displayed over the time my children were there. Things started out "okay" with the typical daycare issues but it just continued to get worse and worse. We caught an infant "teacher" laying babies down flat on the floor and forcing the babies to hold their own bottles to feed themselves. My child was one of them, at only 6 months old. I addressed this with the teachers, directors and I called DCFS and reported the incident. They were cited for a violation as per DCFS guidelines, babies are to be held while being fed a bottle. All the teachers had to "sign a waiver" stating they'd hold the babies to feed them.. No accountability for the "teacher" who started this, no communication on how sorry they were this happened nor was it confirmed that all the other parents were made aware that this happened. Most recently my child's diaper went over 6 hours without getting their diaper changed. When we questioned them about it, the director checked back on the cameras and told us that the teachers "missed" changing my child's diaper, not once, not twice, but three times. Their claim was that they had a teacher being trained in the room and my child just somehow got missed during every diaper change... There were countless other issues that occurred... The amount of negligence, unprofessionalism, and lack of accountability displayed by the teachers, directors, and owners (Alexis McNece and her husband) is absolutely disgusting. I can only hope that nothing worse happens to any other children at this place. Be warned and be aware as they WILL NOT communicate anything that happens to your children unless you push for answers.

I picked up my child early one day, before the PRe K program had finished and heard the awful way Mary Haas speaks to the classroom. It. was. Awful. It's obvious to me that this woman has no business in a classroom with vulnerable children. That alone was enough to make me start searching for another center, but since Mary Haas isn't always in the Sunshine room (I don't know why they don't just say the pre k room. Pretentious much?) I figured it was not an emergency. Then my child came home with bruises on her neck, and no one at the school had any idea of how they came to be. I've also noticed the staff gossiping on the playground and not paying any attention to the children. Jenny and Janice (I'm not sure of their names, but they're mother and daughter) were just like the rest of the staff; on good behavior when they were being watched but not so much when they thought they were not. Given how expensive their program is, I can't believe they can't find better staff. Then again, why would any decent teacher work at such a screwed up daycare? I called DCFS about my child's bruising, and their investigation came back that the staff was not responsible. If they aren't responsible, then who the heck is?

We are pretty sure that my infant son was placed in a chair from the minute we got there till he was picked up. Kids were always crying when I went in there, and I witnessed one child on his stomach in a swing. We can not prove it, but we are confident that the teacher that ran the three year old room spanked my child. He has never been sparked, or threatened with spanking, and he acted out, and named the teacher that spanned him. He said that she spanked him for having an accident in his pants. The management showed no interest in solving our complaint. Do not send your kids here!

My daughter isn't even four yet and knows all of her letters, can write her name and several other words, and can count to 20. She loves going to school and receives a great mixture of playtime, art time, and learning. They even helped a lot with potty training 1.5-2 year olds. I am much happier here than I was with an in home provider. This place isn't incredibly cheap, but they do accommodate hours from 630-6, so when you break it down for the number of hours of care, it is a much better deal than I had with an in home daycare provider. Plus they provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks. They also give you a week of vacation to use after a year and you don't have to pay vacation for the employees.
