Parents received a letter on 8/13 stating the center would not be treated until the night of the 14th. They are still watching kids though; wouldn't want to miss out on money. They'll be open a week before treating the problem while still caring for kids!! Fortunately, my son is staying with family; I feel for those parents without any other options. My son had dried blood on his legs when I picked him up a month ago. No one noticed or cleaned him up. Fortunately, the blood was his. He also had 2 separate days when he had dried poop on the back of his shirt. Again, no one noticed or cleaned it up. I reported it to the teacher and assistant director, but they were pretty nonchalant about it even after I pointed out the potential health risk and exposure. The staff turnover is huge-teachers and the director. The director that was fired (parents were never told why BTW) is still listed on their website, and they've been unable to retain a director since. The door code changes frequently due to parents, teachers, and/or former teachers making a scene. The police were allegedly called the last time. The only other review is from an employee. For $200 a week for a 3 year old, you'd think they could at least keep blood, poop, and fleas off of the kids. I'm so glad my son is done with this place!!!

We are pretty sure that my infant son was placed in a chair from the minute we got there till he was picked up. Kids were always crying when I went in there, and I witnessed one child on his stomach in a swing. We can not prove it, but we are confident that the teacher that ran the three year old room spanked my child. He has never been sparked, or threatened with spanking, and he acted out, and named the teacher that spanned him. He said that she spanked him for having an accident in his pants. The management showed no interest in solving our complaint. Do not send your kids here!

My daughter isn't even four yet and knows all of her letters, can write her name and several other words, and can count to 20. She loves going to school and receives a great mixture of playtime, art time, and learning. They even helped a lot with potty training 1.5-2 year olds. I am much happier here than I was with an in home provider. This place isn't incredibly cheap, but they do accommodate hours from 630-6, so when you break it down for the number of hours of care, it is a much better deal than I had with an in home daycare provider. Plus they provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks. They also give you a week of vacation to use after a year and you don't have to pay vacation for the employees.

Especially for the price. My son just turned 3 today, and is finishing up in the "Twos" room at MLS. My wife and I first found this place when she was going back to work after our son had turned one. We immediately loved the location and the staff. I have experienced nothing but the height of politeness and friendliness from everyone who's worked there over the past two years. The building is bright and beautiful, and ALWAYS exceptionally clean, and has a great layout. Ms. Kim and her staff prepare in-house Breakfast and Lunch daily, and the kids get a really great variety of food. I am confident every morning that my son is safe and is being well-cared for. Even those mornings when he's throwing a screaming fit and doesn't want to get in or out of the car, when he gets to school, for him it's a safe calm space, and he settles down with relative quickness at the hands of any of the wonderful teachers. Do yourself a favor and call Ms. Kim and enroll your littles now! Feel free to personally send me a FB message if you have any questions about my experience.

Great for Programs - Gym Facilities Could Use Some TLC…read more I understand that the YMCA's strength lies in its community-centered programming, not just in being a gym--and in that regard, East Belleville YMCA does a great job. From what I observed during my trial membership, they offer excellent programming, especially for children--before and after school care and summer programs are clearly a strong focus, and it's great to see these important needs being met. My main reason for trying the Y was to evaluate whether the $49/month membership would meet my personal fitness needs, particularly in the gym/exercise area. I found a solid range of equipment available for most muscle groups, including multiple sets of free weights, squat racks, and a variety of dumbbells. The only muscle group missing dedicated support was for lateral raises. While the equipment is a bit dated, that's not necessarily a problem if it's well maintained. Unfortunately, some upkeep is needed. For example, several weight selector pins were rusted, making them difficult to use. A simple rust removal and lubrication would go a long way. I also noticed torn padding on some benches and machines, which could benefit from repair or replacement. Small improvements like these would greatly enhance the functionality and make the gym more competitive with traditional fitness centers. That said, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the facility has a positive, community-oriented atmosphere. I'd recommend this YMCA to anyone looking for more than just a gym--particularly families and individuals interested in a wide range of programming and activities beyond fitness alone.
