I wish we had chosen Happy & Healthy from the beginning, but glad we made the switch when we did, as we now have a lifelong relationship with the practice. The staff at Happy & Healthy have been absolutely wonderful. So much so that we've recommended Dr. Rubin & her team to many other families. The staff are kind, caring, compassionate, and many of them parents themselves, so they truly understand and are able to answer effectively any questions you have about your child's care. No question is too ridiculous - they never make you feel bad for asking anything and are very clear when answering your questions. They even have a wealth of resources on their website, which I often find myself sharing with other parent friends that don't even live in the area but are looking for some sound medical advice from a professional. (probiotic info sheet FTW) I'm writing this review now, after having to bring my child in last week for a checkup as they were feeling unwell. We saw Dr. Reich and it was our first time seeing her. She came into the office and without me even saying anything, she knew about my child's medical history - I appreciate the fact that she looked at my child's chart in advance - it was as if she's known us this entire time. Dr. Reich actually just called me to follow up and see how my child was feeling now. Having this level of care and service is so appreciated. In conversations before the bris, I knew that my friend was nervous about the process, the ceremony, and the actual circumcision. I can say with confidence that Dr. Rumbak put the family's mind at ease both with her expertise and her gentle approach. As a "spectator" at the ceremony, Dr. Rumbak passed around sheets so we can all follow along and feel part of the ceremony, and explained what different blessings meant. She also added some Jewish text in a modern and relevant way, which I appreciated, and my family continued to discuss post ceremony. The sweet baby did super well and was calm throughout the entire process. Truthfully, I didn't even know when the actual circumcision actually happened because she was so gentle and discrete. At the end of the ceremony, many people went up to Dr. Rumbak to compliment her on one of the best brit mila's they ever went to, and many asked for her card (including my mom for our temple!). She has a great business partner in Shachar, who socialized with the guests of the ceremony, kept everything organized, and was just an all around stand up guy. Oh, and how great that she is a mohel AND a doctor. Talk about putting your mind at ease..that will definitely do it. Highly recommend.

Would have loved so much to give a glowing review of Dr. Rumbak but unfortunately we look back on…read morethe day of my son's bris and what transpired after with a lot of sadness. Dr. Rumbak deserves credit and thanks for her discretion in not circumcising our son the day of his bris due to a urological condition she noticed in her ore-ceremony examination. We are thankful for that. She performed what essentially worked out to a baby naming ceremony for us. Obviously the day was emotional to begin with and the news she couldn't circumcise was extremely disappointing and heartbreaking since this was a day we looked forward to for so long. In the days after the bris we were able to absorb the events better and realized exactly what happened. To begin with, my wife asked for a program to keep as they were being collected (yes, collected), and the response was, "I collect them." She said the same to my mom (baby's grandma). We consider this ridiculous - even if the baby's grandparents couldn't have one, at least the parents should. When I emailed Dr. Rumbak about the issue I'm about to describe, I also mentioned the program and that part of my email was left unaddressed. Here's the major problem, though. We paid $800 for a circumcision plus $150 for travel from Manhattan to Nassau. We were happy to do this because we really liked Dr. Rumbak on the phone. However, after the bris, we had a bit of a realization that really irked us. Why were we never offered any kind of refund for the circumcision not being performed? It really should have been offered that day, on the spot, but it wasn't. Days and weeks turned to months and we still were never offered anything. We didn't even get an email or phone call to check on our son given the medical issue Dr. Rumbak identified. This was surprising given the emotional nature of the day but also because part of Dr. Rumbak's service (advertised on her web site and vouched for in her reviews) is her frequent follow up with the family. Finally after a few months, I emailed her explaining we feel we are owed some kind of refund due to the most critical part of the ceremony, the circumcision, not being performed. It is that expertise for which we paid. Dr. Rumbak issued a $200 refund, saying that the rate for a baby naming is $600. It's unfortunate such a beautiful day was soured by the experience we had. As new parents we feel we were, in a way, taken advantage of. Dr. Rumbak did ultimately give some money back, but we feel we shouldn't have had to ask. Experiences like this are what make people cynical about organized religion. The right thing to do would have been to give us a refund without us having to ask. We would not recommend her.

Then begins the action on your side and the regular communication. Regarding the communication, Rebecca was very flexible and available for us. My schedule was hectic and she made phone calls and communication work without an issue. She was in constant contact with us and was available to my wife to answer any and every question and concern she had. The Plan Rebecca gives you a "plan" or schedule as a guide. I put plan in quotes because it's really goals to aim for based on where you are at. She works with you to adjust your goals as needed so it's not something rigid but flexes as needed. My wife was nervous about being on a schedule or routine and this ended up working out fabulously for us. Results We wanted a healthy routine, to save momma's back from all the rocking and with a baby that slept through the night. We achieved this. Personality Regarding personality, I found Rebecca to be very pleasant, upbeat, thoughtful, analytical and considerate. She's the type of person who says just enough to get the point across and in a caring manor. She's really a joy to talk to. Wrap-up We have already recommended Rebecca to family and friends without any hesitation. I hope they are helped as much as we were.

She was referred to us by my sister-in-law and so we heard nothing but great things. Rebecca is professional, yet approachable. She gets you and understands you. She understood that it was solely me putting our daughter to sleep from the beginning and she gave me the courage to trust that my husband can do it as well. It's not that I did not have the confidence in him to do so, but I have been putting our little one down since the beginning, so I just assumed it was going to be a huge battle. Boy was I wrong. These are where the sickest patients are being treated but yet you have the least experienced staff treating them. A doctor who just finished their residency working the night shift... so very disappointing that an organization like NYU can't find more highly trained staff ... also very disappointing that an organization with this amount of money has tape holding up the windows in the ICU. Totally unbelievable. Threw all their money into sears on Franklin Ave and forgot they have an almost 600 bed hospital up the block that is in need of resources. Do better for the community. Very sad and very disappointed that this what this hospital has become.
