I just had my second or third negative experience with Village Peds office staff. The women, with the exception of one lovely, older lady are downright rude. Their behavior is the type of thing that makes me wonder if I am on candid camera. Its truly that absurd. The doctors there ARE dedicated professionals so I wonder why they allow for that. I am starting to question if they are complicit in that toxic environment because I would never tolerate that in my place of business. After this, I am looking for a new pediatric practice. I have had multiple negative encounters with these people. My daughter, 9 months at the time, received shots, blood was drawn from her finger, and had her ears pierced. The moron that pierced her ears did it so uneven that now at 1 year old only has one ear pierced because we had to removed it. The blood that was drawn was not enough and results were inconclusive. The doctor praised herself as she spoke to her dad and I "you should be happy that I went through her records and know her medical history" but yet she was calling my daughter my name. We agreed to give it one more chance. Wrong choice. Come the 1 year checkup...they canceled my appointment because I was 7 minutes late. 7! I live in queens, not on the island...they're ridiculously inconsiderate! I went in anyways to get her medical records because I had it...this was two weeks ago and have yet to receive records. If I could give it 0 stars I would!!! read more

Its an okay office. Calling and speaking to the front desk can sometimes be frustrating, no phone etiquette. Definitely like that theres no wait on arrival. Nice looking place for the pediatric population. The medical assistants are okay except for this one MA named Johanna who is the worst human being working at a pediatricians office with no bedside manner whatsoever. No issues with the nurses, just there to administer vaccines I guess. Our favorite doctors are Dr Mayoral and Dr Leilani (5 stars)! They're gentle and personable. Exclusive breastfeeding was very important to me and Dr Mayoral understood that. Saw Dr Dougherty once and it was a meh experience. Also saw Dr O'keefe once and it was an awful experience, never again! NYU has so much higher standards. read more

My Daughter usually sees Dr. Dougherty. He's very pleasant and efficient. Anytime I send an email he quickly responds. My only issue is the front desk staff and I'm assuming these are the same females that answer the phone. They really need to be trained on telephone etiquette. They always sound like they have an attitude when answering the phone. I find that to be so rude. They hang up immediately with no "have a good day". I've worked in customer service on the phones for 20 years and I would never sound like how they do. I love my Daughters Doctor but Im thinking about looking elsewhere for a new pediatrician. I have been coming to this practice for 22 years. In my personal experience, this is the best run practice around. My sons were under Dr. Lieberman and Dr. Dougherty's care since they were born. Never had a bad experience here. The doctors are very knowledgeable and informative. My older son Just graduated college and still continues to see the drs. Unfortunately their cut off age is 25 or else I do not think they would ever change doctors. read more

After our pediatrician in Manhattan closed her practice in 2010, we looked for a good fit in Nassau. All of our children are now patients here and I love the doctors and PA. They are friendly and knowledgeable whether we are in the office for a well child or sick visit. They support and encourage mothers nursing newborns and have a formula-free gift bag for the breastfeeding moms (ok, that has nothing to do with medical services but I appreciated it). I really like that there's never a wait - we're always seen within minutes of arrival. They get bonus points for protecting vulnerable patients by having a special entrance for those with rashes and a dedicated newborn room procedure. read more

After 9 years with 2 little ones I did something I should have done a few years back. Left and found a pediatrician who cares. The group from the miserable, unfriendly office staff who never answer the phones (leave a message, we will get back to you) to the doctors who couldn't care less and it shows. Do yourself and your kids a favor and ask around, you will find better. Dr Dougherty is the only saving grace the place has but since they are led by Lieberman, his poor attitude is the reason to stay far away. read more

I've been coming to Village Pediatrics for about 13 years now with my 2 sons and I have complete confidence in the staff and all the providers. It is refreshing to read the positive comments since people don't usually tend to post about those. As to the negative ones, there's always another side to the story and at least 3 versions of it. There's always so helpful, understanding, and respectful and would definitely recomend them and have to many of my loved ones. read more

I wish there were a way to give zero stars. I have two kids and am expecting my 3rd which pushed me to move from this location (I should have done this years ago). They have Horrible bedside manner and were just plain mean/rude to my kids. In one instance, after my son had a long night of fever, Dr. Lieberman asked "why is the boy here? What's his problem?" On another visit, the nurse literally yelled at my daughter while doing her vision test. My daughter is super sensitive to needles and discomfort and on my last visit, Dr. Dougherty threatened to hold her down while checking her out if she wouldn't stop crying and let him do what he needed to do. And as many reviewers said, Dr. O'Keefe is the worst. I will specifically ask NOT to see him. Why become a doctor if you clearly cannot stand kids? The only person I felt comfortable seeing was Ariana Lanzetta. I have to say they used to be good about 6 years ago before they became a Winthrop affiliate, and now an affiliate with NYU. Now it's a cold business, nothing more. Take your kids elsewhere. read more

They have been wonderful, and trust me, with 4 kids we have been there many, many times! After my appointment with pediatrician Peter O'Keefe at Village Pediatrics I went to the pharmacy and unexpectedly started to cry when the pharmacist asked me if I was okay. It was a brutal first doctor's visit and a definite last with him. Thing that disappointed me most was that I called the office ahead of time and asked if they were biased in one way or the other about circumcision. They said all of the doctors were not biased and that they had patients who were both circumcised and uncircumcised, but when I arrived, Dr. O'Keefe told me that "asking if I should get my son circumcised was like asking a mechanic if he should put brakes on the car." That is a direct quote and I NEVER asked him if I should get my son circumcised. My son is two! That decision was made a long time ago by us... his parents! It was a waste of time and I didn't need to be disrespected like that. Just because the doctor is circumcised doesn't mean his patients have to be. (Also why do I need to know that he was circumcised?) Once my old pediatrician was back from vacation I took my son all the way back to our old city to see him and he couldn't believe the unprofessionalism when I told him about my visit with Village Pediatrics. Moving is tough but this will definitely not be the practice we go to now that we are in Long Island. I wasn't going to post a review but my husband said that maybe there are other people like us who chose not to circumcise and maybe I can help them find a practice that will be more receptive than this one. Dr. O'Keefe went into newborn circumcision procedures (again my son is not a newborn), told me about a couple of teenagers in his practice whom he has convinced to get circumcised, and also told me that because I waited, my son will now have to go under anesthesia and go into an OR to get the procedure done. And I'm sitting there like, "We are not circumcising! Just give me some antibiotics and let me go home!" We are not loudmouths or activists about this topic. We made a decision that we personally felt was best for our sons -- not anybody else's. I will say that the front desk staff was very nice; they were just misinformed when I called ahead to make sure I wouldn't receive the treatment I ended up receiving. read more

Hours are good- but a very short, non-attentive staff. They make it VERY difficult to get through to doctors. I asked about my son's blood type (he's been going there since birth)... They had no idea. I would not recommend this practice. They don't have convenient hours during the summer... Which makes no sense.. Kids need a doctor all year long, since when does infection/sickness decrease Bc summer? I'm stuck there until I find a new doctor for my kids. read more

I Love Village pediatrics!! I've been with them since 2012. I'm always able to call and make an appointment with no problem, even on a Sunday when a child of mine is sick. Wait times are 15 minutes or less. They are very detailed in going over our sons progress over time and how they are doing, the types and amounts of food they should be eating. And always ask if I have any questions. The receptionists are always nice and professional which is always a pleasure. If you don't like waiting forever for your child to see a doctor this place is for you. read more

After being unable to see my previous Pediatrician because of insurance changes, I found Village Pediatrics just up the road from my previous Pediatrician. The staff is friendly n courteous, the building is very clean n Dr Lieberman who reminds of Jay Leno is extremely kind n patient. The worst thing about this office is the STAFF. They make it so hard to get to the doctor. The girls are so rude. My 4 year old was in the ER the whole night for UTI and the doctors told us to follow up with her regular doctor next morning. We called and asked for the appointment and the receptionist told us right away she does'nt need to come in and then when my husband got mad he yelled that i need to talk to the doctor and she gave us appointment. I mean seriously receptionist tells when and when not to come. This is ridiculous. I dont want to give even one star to this place. This is not the first time i had problem with them. read more

We love Village Pediatrics. We recently changed from another practice and could not be happier!!! I have NEVER been to a more well run doctor's office. The staff is so professional, pleasant and on it! We have found all the doctors and nurse practitioner to be caring, knowledgeable and offer good common sense solutions to small ailments. They do not overbook; I do not believe we have ever waited more than about 20 minutes to see a doctor. I cannot recommend this practice enough. read more

I've been very pleased with the Dr's and the PA at Village Pediatrics. I feel comfortable with their judgement and feel they're very competent in their practice and ethics. Both Dr.Lieberman and Dr. Doughtry are great. Their PA is also great with answering any questions I have. The office hours are also convenient and accommodating for busy parents. I have a daughter and two sons. We have been going to Village Pediatrics for almost 21 years now. I am shocked to read any bad reviews on them. I have great respect for all of the doctors and employees in the practice. We have had appointments for regular physicals, sports injuries, infections, syndromes, etc. I have called the service after hours and had a doctor get back to me. I have called to talk to a doctor and someone always called me back. Several times Dr. Dougherty called to check on my son. I have never felt brushed off or rushed out the door. We have a very friendly rapport. My questions or concerns are met with open arms. I wouldnt want to go anywhere else. read more

Wow a lot of unhappy parents on here.Been going to VP for 23 years.Have 3 kids-girl 23-boy 21-and girl 18.Older daughter had hole in her heart that Dr Dougherty diagnosed after her birth.Hole cleared up within 4-5 years after many check ups at St Francis.My son had 9 month check up back in 1998 when Dr Dougherty noticed he was sitting up yet.Dr told us about Early Intervention which is a great state run program for any child rich or poor.Son had physical and occupational therapy for low muscle tone and wife and i are grateful that Dr noticed him not sitting up.Son played football,baseball in high school so the early therapy was helpful for him.Younger daughter no issues.I'm a parent who isn't afraid to ask a Dr a question if i feel something isn't being diagnosed correctly and i have.I was Mr Mom for 16 yrs and i lived in there office when all 3 of mine were young for sinus,ear,throat infections.All Dr were professional and nurses and staff always were kind.Now Drs are Met fans and i do have a problem with that[joke people]. read more
