She loved lizards, bugs, horses, and drawing more than anything. Her mom and dad were so excited for this little girl to start school, to see all she'd learn, and to learn all she'd become. However, the hopes and dreams these parents had for their little girl would not come to pass. After a short time in kindergarten, the little girl started getting poor conduct grades for "not paying attention. The school set up the first conference and began to tell the parents how wrong their little girl was. The girl began coming home upset, stressed out, scared to go back, and claiming that her teacher hates her. The parents tried ADHD meds for the child. In 6 months, the little girl was on 4 different medicines. Upon taking the first dose, she was listless, glassy-eyed, and had sobbing episodes. She didn't enjoy the critters and the horses and the drawing. The smiles went away. And she did no better in school. This precious little girl is Emma, and she is mine. In December 2014, we started at ABC Montessori. Their love for children, interest in fostering the individuality of the children, and in the development of the child's brain are immediately evident. The passion they have for the Montessori method is inspiring. They have restored our daughter's motivation and joy for learning. Today, our daughter seeks answers. She explores. She is respectful. And she absolutely loves her school. There, she is a helper, a friend, a great student, loved and praised by her teachers, and extremely well-behaved. She sits down to her work daily and focuses on what needs to be done. She completes book reports and science fair projects. She knows things about culture and history. She reads "chapter books" and she has straight A's!! She laughs and plays and does not want to be picked up at the end of the day. I have my little girl back!! For all of this I am thankful for the Montessori method. But even more so, I am eternally grateful for the careful, thoughtful planning, attention, and intuition of the ABC Montessori staff, and for their concern and care for the whole child. My daughter WILL be successful. In fact, she already is!

The space is nice and the concept is cute. We had a great time, initially. Everyone paid, their separate tabs, once done with painting. We then went to dinner around the corner. Once talking we realized that they overcharged everyone because they didn't take the $20 deposit off of everyone's final total. We called to let them know and was met with hostility immediately and told that they didn't do refunds. Once we ordered, the group decided to go back over there. Asia very rudely refused to give us the difference, even with the other employee letting her know we were in a party. We will be contacting the bank, CPFB and the BBB on this business as this is not acceptable, nor legal. Please save your time and make your way to another place.

There was one woman working and she lacked customer service skills. We waited 10 minutes before being helped and finally when she decided to help us there was no enthusiasm or excitement when she spoke. It made our experience boring and dreary . The ceramic pottery was pricey so we decided to paint a wooden piece. To paint 2 wooden objects came to $40. I had instant regret staying and spending money. I could have went across the street to hobby lobby and got two large wooden pieces for $10. I feel if the woman had better customer service I wouldn't feel such regret. Maybe I'll try their pottery spinning class.

Workers come to work with dog hair on them, you never see anyone wash their hands, you dropped your kid off in one person or two people's care but while your gone someone else you never met will be taking care of your child. They pull teachers from the other building. Blame everything on being short staffed or the parent or the child, accountability is definitely lacking. While there are select few who actually care it's definitely not enough to leave your child here trust me! The prices don't even make sense you're basically paying for full time services even if you need part time. There's literally nobody to advocate for you if anything happens such as incidents or mishandling paperwork or payments. You want your child to attend a place they are happy to be tour and just get a feel for the kids personalities you can tell the worst part of their day is attending this place. If you're looking for any type of interactive learning here you won't find it. If you're looking for someone to actually pay attention to your child or build some type of bond with them you won't find it here. It is truly scary this establishment hasn't been looked into for several things actually.

I was going to wait to write this review because my daughter still attends, but I am highly annoyed…read moreat this school. After 6 months, I am very close to removing my child! I cannot say this school is all bad, because my daughter wouldn't be here. I like her teacher Ms. Jewels and the other teachers in her class. They try to make the most out of their limited resources. I also love Ms. Jordan at the front desk. She goes out of her way daily to make my daughter feel special. From stickers to compliments, my daughter loves her! One of my first and main issues is with the head of administration. I homeschooled my child until she was almost 3. Because of that, Ms. T and I discussed my daughter staying in the two-year-old class until her 3rd birthday in October. She told me there will be room for my child in the regular 3-year-old classroom. The last time we discussed this was a month before my daughter's birthday, and once she turned 3, the classes were full. She then told me my child can go into the 3-year-old classroom that has kids who need additional assistance, because she doesn't think my daughter is ready for the regular PreK3. Because she's only over the admin, in my opinion, she's not qualified to tell me what my daughter is ready for... especially since the person over education and her current teacher said they recommend my child go to PreK3. They really allow this woman to make recommendations for children when she doesn't work directly with them. In addition, she has a terrible attitude. She will speak to you depending on her mood, and that's not the best attitude to have when working around children. I often ask myself if I am over exaggerating, but my neighbor didn't choose this Cedars because she felt the staff had an attitude problem when she called for the first time. Another major issue I had at this school was when they allowed a part-time teacher conduct an assessment on my child. The assessment was so bad that I couldn't sleep that night. They said my child doesn't know simple concepts, such as in or out, she can't draw a straight line, etc. That day, I took my child home and recorded her doing everything the assessment said she couldn't do. If anyone needed to conduct an assessment, it should've been her lead teacher. Her lead teacher was surprised by the assessment. She said she never questioned my child's ability because she knew everyone's name in the class by the 2nd week of school, recognized and spelled her name, etc. After they viewed my videos, the school's education advisor assessed my daughter. She told me I was right. My daughter can do "All the things!" These are a few examples of how they have unqualified people doing unqualified things. If my child didn't have present parents who speak up for her, they would've put a label on her and moved on to the next child. You would think people in this position know the difference between a child who actually doesn't know things and one who's still coming out of their shell because they went from one-on-one learning to 20 students and 2 teachers. Another thing I have to mention is that last week the flu was going around. I was told they were going to put up signs, but they didn't have ink. Apparently, they didn't think to email everyone. I've watched this school wait until 3pm to call parents about a sick child. At that point, everyone could make contact with the sick person. I could really continue, but I have said enough. Ultimately, the issue falls on the school's director. Everything reflects poor leadership. I have come to her numerous times, and she basically tells me what she thinks I want to hear without taking any action behind her words. I will not fault the Cedars brand because I am still open to other locations, but the McDonough location needs some changes, fast!

The facility is clean, offers age appropriate activities, and the staff is friendly. We loved the brunch for Mother's Day and the Luau for Father's Day. We also enjoy dressing up for spirit days. She recently moved to the toddler's class. The classroom is inviting and her new teachers seem very nice. The app is interactive and keeps families abreast of daily activities. I highly recommend Cedars!
