Mary's Little Red Schoolhouse - they send home "little lamb" to take care of and they let the kids talk about their time with little lamb!

This preschool is extremely…read moreprofessional but because it is a semi "in home" set up it also has a more personal feel than many schools. The teachers are fantastic and there are plenty of staff on hand so I know that my child gets personal attention. I know that each one of the teachers loves my daughter and cares about her progress. I know that my daughter is Kindergarten ready after two years here. I love the sense of parent involvement provided with programs, special occasions, and parent accompanied field trips. Any time I've had a concern Miss Mary has been completely sympathetic and devoted to coming up with a solution. The price is very reasonable. We are paying $115 per month for three 2 1/2 hour days per week. The school follows the Weber School District calendar which is great if you have older children in school. I think If I had one complaint it would be that many parents ignore the pick up and drop off procedure. Many of them are pretty inconsiderate and will pull right in front of those who have been waiting patiently or will omit the procedure altogether and jam up the street parking all over the place to walk up and get the kids. The school does its best to make this streamlined so it is just the parents. I'm sending my second child to the preschool next year because I've had such a good experience here! I couldn't rate it highly enough. My daughter loves going to school and this school has provided a positive introduction to her education. I'm amazed at the knowledge she continually surprises me with and I credit Mary's Little Red Schoolhouse for many of the things she has learned.

I popped in once or twice for a forgotten jacket and the teachers and students were working in such harmony. My son didn't even notice me come in the door he was so engaged in the activity. I am beyond happy with the teachers and grateful for his excitement for learning. There is an upstairs classroom and a downstairs. Between the two there is a lot of variety (yet routine) offered to the kids.

The school is aesthetically appealing, clean, high ceilings, lots of natural light/windows & subdued colors. They really work hard to make the environment soothing for the children. On any given day you will hear soothing music playing, smell essential oils being defused. The little ones are taught about grace, courtesy, social skills, conflict resolution, self help skills/autonomy, self soothing, etc. They really teach to the whole child. They don't put math/science/reading above any other life skills, which is huge. Many days they have "gratitude circle, meditation circle, or massage circle," where they get to practice these skills. The stimuli/materials available also make learning fun. They are made from natural materials so you don't need to worry about what is off gassing/leaching around your child. And, they are so visually appealing, little hands want to reach for them. These Montessori materials make abstract concepts become concrete & fun to master. The staff members know the children intimately, due to the small size of the school. From admin to assistants the adults are patient, enthusiastic & energetic with the children. We love the school. Mrs. Sam, my son's teacher is a rock star. She is equal parts strict and spunky. In her calm/quiet way she teaches children about boundaries, and yet she is so full of pizzazz. Mrs. Claudia has compassion & grace for days. Mrs. Lisa (front desk) always has a smile & wonderful recommendations/solutions. Ms. Maddie is by far the most compassionate, attuned & in touch principal I have ever met. Ms. Z will patiently and enthusiastically answer your little ones 391 questions! Ms. Isa will cut you grace when your little human makes a less than stellar choice, if she got a penny for every time she said, "That's okay, don't worry," she would be in the top 1%. I am an educator myself & have worked in many different districts, this school is truly a gem. We are so blessed to have found it. The children are truly treated like family, loved on, safe, nurtured & can therefor thrive.

My 1-year-old has a life-threatening egg allergy, which the daycare was well aware of. Despite multiple reminders, he was repeatedly exposed to egg 2-3 times a week. That's not a mistake--it's negligence. Every day I dropped him off, I worried it might be the last time I saw him alive. On top of that, my 8-month-old's personal formula, diapers, and wipes--which I purchase out of pocket--were consistently used on other children. I was rarely given back everything I brought each morning, and I had to wait 15-20 minutes most days to pick them up because parents are kept in the lobby, unable to check on their own kids. I paid thousands of dollars a month to this facility, yet it felt like I had to supervise their staff every single day. My job is to work and provide, not to constantly fear for my children's safety in a place I trusted to care for them. Parents, be aware: if your child has any medical condition or specific care needs, look elsewhere. No family should have to live with this kind of anxiety, especially while paying a premium for care.

I've debated whether or not to post this, but I feel strongly that other parents should be warned…read moreabout our experience with this daycare. If I could give zero or negative stars, I would. The communication is virtually nonexistent, and the lack of professionalism--especially from ownership--is incredibly concerning. My son attended LTA from June 2024 to April 2025.Things were fine at first, but everything changed around March 2025. Staff turnover became constant, and my son was repeatedly moved between new teachers. The biggest mistake, in my opinion, was letting go of the former director, Morgan. After that, the quality of care declined rapidly. Here are just a few of the major issues we experienced: * Neglected hygiene: My son came home multiple times with painful diaper rashes and yeast infections. We saw his pediatrician three times in just a few months due to poor diapering practices. * Unreported injury: He came home with a bite mark and deep bruising on his arm--no incident report, no communication. * Ignored messages: We raised several concerns, including diaper changes and safety issues. Most were never acknowledged or addressed. * Misplaced items: He was frequently sent home in clothes that weren't his, and his belongings were often lost. * Safety failure: On his last day, staff reported that he had ingested diaper rash cream because a teacher left it within reach and wasn't paying attention. We even filed a formal complaint with the State. Despite that, nothing changed. We gave notice of withdrawal and didn't receive a single reply. A week later, I had to follow up in person just to confirm it was processed. It's devastating to feel like you can't trust the people responsible for your child's care. I strongly urge any parent considering LTA to check their record on the Utah State Licensing website before enrolling.

When I first took my daughter who was 1 then, it took her 2 weeks to settle and the staff remained gentle and patient, even gave me some pointers to break her into the daycare schedule.
