I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Selecman and Children's Dental Center. It's easier for me to make a blanket statements like THIS is what visiting the dentist should be like *or* Dr. Selecman is legit the best in the business. But. I want to break down some of my favorite parts about this place to give you a more concrete overview. 1. Kindness: Professionals who help children should care MORE (not less) about their jobs because children are among our most vulnerable. Dr. Selecman is among this type of human. He caters this dentistry experience to the little children. He talks to them as humans BUT through the lens that they are still children. There is a special type of kindness laced in his approach. I cannot tell you how special it is and how much I appreciate this. 2. Family: Coming here is an experience for the whole family. They care about everybody and make an effort to keep families together while the kids are having dental work. It goes a long way! 3. Fun: There is something fun in EVERY room for the kids. Whether it's coloring or movies in the reception area; movies, video games, or legos in the waiting areas; a TV screen for a movie on the ceiling while getting your teeth cleaned; or the token at the end to redeem for a toy of your child's choosing -- these things mean a lot because they go the extra mile to make a dental experience something happy for children. It means a lot to me when the dental hygienist is calm and patient and focuses on the patient. (I appreciate it so much when hygienists, dentists, doctors, hairstylists, etc. remember this.) I know they have a job to do but my child is more than a set of teeth. They have fears and apprehensions and worries and it's very unsettling to have someone digging around in your mouth with metal tools. For the most part, we have had good experiences at Children's Dental Center -- some better than others. I also really appreciate the women at the check-out desk. I have really noticed over time that they are habitually kind!! I'm grateful for every member of the staff who goes out of their way to make sure these kids feel safe and well taken care of. read more

I loved this place. I went with my god-daughter for her first dental check up and quickly felt comfortable. When you first walk in you are greeted with a smile and warm welcome. The facility has adequate space, is clean, and has lots of kid friendly activities and seating. The had a tv are (with multiple televisions), coloring tables, and a gaming area. The Dentist and staff are friendly and professional. You can tell that they take pride in their work. Her check up was quick (an hour start to finish), yet filled with great information and services. At the end of the check up they give each child a token so they can get a cool little treat. Love it! read more

I absolutely love the dentist and assistants but the office staff in scheduling is absolutely awful I've been taking my kids here for years and slowly becoming such a hassle to schedule them and for some reason they do not have my youngest on file even though she's been seen there also I haven't received any reminders or anything for appointments that I checked off for when I tried scheduling them anyway they won't be able to see them until November! It's June now im sure COVID has some part in it understandably but I specifically needed my son to be seen for a cavity concern I stated multiple times previously trying to figure stuff out the lady with a slight attitude she said oh would you like a consultation... I was done after that I'll admit my lack of patience and frustration got the better of me but as I said it's been a struggle in more than one instance over time. I love the dentists and the assistants they are perfect but the office staff needs to be looked into and managed better. Also would like to point out and add bc they didn't have my youngest in the system and tried adding her in again to schedule her which would consider her a first time patient they asked for her social which is something you do not do over the phone! Most health practices don't require that until you sign the paperwork when you get there not to be able to schedule an appointment. read more

The dental office is just what is should be, kid friendly. My two sons, ages 1 and 3, had their first ever dentist visit. The check in process for new patients went very smoothly because they offer to email you the new patient papers so you can have them completed before arriving. The office gives you email and text reminders and also a phone call in case there are any concerns on their end(insurance, etc). From the receptionists to the hygienist(April) to Dr. Selecman, our visit was very good. They are great with kids and make the dental visit as smooth as it could possibly go. I love this dentist office. Even when my family changed insurance and they became a out of network office I paid the extra money so my son could continue to go to this office. After one visit with my in network dentist I knew I couldn't leave this office. Both dentists that work here and friendly. They go above and beyond to work with me. They even give me deals on dental work. They are very truthful. For example I personally asked the dentist for braces for my son. His response was, "He really dont need braces. His teeth are straighter than most people after braces." I feel any other dentist would have just said okay. Extra money for them. I get a reminder email or phone call of coming up visits. This is the best pediatric dental experience I've had for my child out of all the others. First of all, you are literally called upon within 10-15 minutes upon arrival of your scheduled appointment time given that you're a returning patient and not a new one. They get you right on back and in the chair. Once the dental assistant has completed her tasks, it only about 10 minutes before Dr. Rowland comes to your station. I'm talking about impeccable service and time management. The best I've seen ever!!! Its a clean and welcoming environment. The staff is plentiful and extremely nice. I brought my three children in ages 4,7,11 for a cleaning. We're new to the area so I searched online and decided to come here because it looked like an atmosphere my children would be comfortable in. Children's dental center did not disappoint. Dr. Selecman made sure to explain everything that was done during each of my children's visit. Very nice guy. I could tell a has a great heart just from talking with him during our appointments. Each staff member that we encountered were a joy to work with. We left feeling as if we have been coming here for years! read more

We love Children's Dental Center! Every single person in this office has a gift for working with children. My 22 month old daughter had her first dental visit. Everyone put her at ease, made her smile and laugh, and made her completely comfortable...and mom and dad! It was easy as could be! My 6 year old son also had an appointment that day and had his first cavity filled. He was not scared a bit, thanks to Dr. Rowland and staff making him feel at ease and not making a big deal about it. They are all thorough, professional, and so kind! read more
