The establishment/organization/business aka Childrens Land Learning Center only cares about your child if you are on time with payments, or more like if you pay early and/or in advance. if you are middle class paying twice a month or monthly...well you can expect average care to your child. Money is the key factor to actually having a good experience with Childrens Land Learning Center. The tuition is extremely above the service level and throughout the term you have to pay additional fees for extracurricular activities- if you do not pay your child will be left behind, gymnastics/gym you have to pay, music you have to pay. now public schools have gym and music included in the daily activitie. read more

For weeks I've been calling find out rates and schedule a tour and it's very alarming that no one every answers the phone. I've called multiple times in a day and multiple times during the week. No one ever picks up nor returns my calls. This is a huge establishment! Administration? Front desk? What's going on here? Beware! Update! After my review we finally received a call back from Aksana. She wasn't even listening or adherent on the phone. She was clearly doing something else..... I kept saying hello, hello, are you there and the line was just silent and then she would come back. She was very unprofessional and rude to me and I am shocked that someone like her is running a daycare facility!!! I've called other daycares and they answered on the first call and spoke to me with joy and courtesy. Giving me all the information I would need! I don't think this lady has a clue if I'm looking for a safe place for my 6 week old daughter we need to establish trust and security! I'm considering making an official complaint with the owner/manger/state!!! At this time I refuse to leave my child here at her mercy. We have been with Children's Land for 7 years now. My daughter first attended Lincolnshire location, and then we switched to Wheeling when it opened up. It has been a great journey to see both of our kids grow with caring & wonderful teachers: Laima, Larissa, Valentina, Mrs. Choy, Rebecca and their assistants. These caring individuals are very passionate about what they do, and we've developed great relationships over the years. The daycare is very clean, well run & organized. Additional art classes are offered by a talented art teacher who decorates the daycare and tailors her art projects based on the kids' interests & character. Their Christmas and spring shows are the main events of the year, and we really look forward to it every year. The girls get all dressed up in pretty dresses, and even get a hairdo! What always amazes me is that kids of different ethnicities all blend and shine during these performances when signing songs & citing poems in different languages. In the very beginning, we expressed our opinions regarding summer field trips offered at the time, and the owner (Oxana) listened to our collective input and made some corrections the following year. It really felt good to be heard. It's sad to read some reviews where parents blame their kids bruises on staff ... we had it all, even a scar and ended up in an emergency room with our son due to an accident that happened in a classroom. Was it a teacher's fault? After talking to the teacher & examining the place of accident, our choice was to trust them and give our confidence that we believe & rely on them every day we leave our kids with them. Did we have bruises? Oh, yes, we did, and scratches & bleeding knees when my son fell off the bike. Was it a teacher's fault again? Show me a kid that grows up without bruises. I believe that teachers and parents should all work together and learn how to respond versus reacting to some things that are simply inevitable. Are big day cares best fit for all kids, probably not, but it's up to a parent to make those choices wisely without putting blame on people who've been working there for years. read more

I've had 2 girls go through Children's Land over the past few years, one still there. They both loved going everyday because the teachers are great & genuinely care about how each of the kids are doing & want them to do well. My wife & I loved the classrooms, always extremely clean & each one has security cameras that you can look at right as you walk in the building, always nice to be able to watch how my little girls are doing before I go in to get them. They have great playground areas when the weather is nice & their food is very healthy but the kids love it anyway. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a great daycare facility! read more

I expected great things from this center based on the reviews, but turns out that the owners at the Wheeling location don't even have time to answer questions on the phone. I called twice to inquire about admissions for my 2.5 year old daughter and spoke to Oxana. She informed me very rudely the first time that they were closing and to call back later. I tried again the following week, and Oxana asked me what programs I'm interested in. When I asked her what different types of programs were available (a perfectly legitimate question- I think), she rattled of the different programs and then asked the age of my child. When I said 2.5 years, she said she had no places in her school and hung up. I think the good reviews are coming from either relatives, friends or the owners themselves. Same thing happened to me as the post below when I had inquired for my daughter. I had emailed inquiry and received a call back but as I am telling her about my daughter Oxana says I can't talk now right now and hangs up. I right away thought there was an emergency and she would eventually call me back! Wrong!! It has been over a month and no call back. Very disappointed, this is when they should be impressing you! A friend of mine has her child here and he's doing great so I figured it would be wonderful for us since it's close by as well. After a long due, here I am writing a review about this wonderful daycare. With no doubts, its a 5 star day care and best one in the area.My daughter started going to this daycare after she turned 18 months old. positive points 1. Facility - Huge facility with a good size play area 2. Cleanliness - the classrooms are always spick and span 3. Focus on nutrition - they provide good balanced diet 4. Field trips - kids get to go and experience different places 5. Spring and winter shows - kids practice a play which includes, dance and drama 6. Art Class - my daughter picked very good art skills from her art teacher 7. Curriculum - Ms Choi (Pre K) is an awesome teacher. She follows a very good curriculum and knows how to deal with kids. Just wanted to share with all the parents who are looking at new school/daycare for their kids - how happy we are to have found such an amazing place for our 3.y.o twins! We had a great daycare in the city and after moving to the suburbs December'12 we were worried about our kids' transition to the new environment as it can be pretty tough on the 2 y.o. It took them a week to adjust and they absolutely loved their first teacher Laima and now Valya ( 3 y.o. group)! The daycare itself looks like a big Castle beautifully designed and manages by super professional and experienced staff! The things that impress me the most: Food - kids have balanced meals throughout the day soups, fresh meats, healthy grains, veggies and always fresh fruits for lunch and healthy afternoon snacks. Outdoor time - beautiful large playground with a special cover ( plastic grass) so it's always clean and it dries quickly after the rain where kids get to play twice a day if the weather permits. Large dance room - where kids have daily singing and dancing classes with a lovely lady who plays piano! who else has that?! Activities ( large variety of very affordable activities that parents can chose to enroll their kids to) Amazing teachers that come to school and teach classes on premises vs .parents having to drive their kids all over. Our kids take Art ( amazing art teacher, ) Dance class on Mondays, Thursday - Tae kwon do. They also have free classes throughout the week - Russian, Math, Spanish - I may be forgetting something else. Kids start taking field trips starting at 3 - our kids went on their first field trip this fall - to a pumpkin patch and another one planned in November to a theater in Lincolnshire to see Nutcracker. They are super excited as they get to take a real school bus. My in laws who came from Nashville - confessed that they have never seen anything that organized and beautifully decorated and my mom who was visiting us from Europe could not stop snapping pictures of everything from gorgeous landscaping to bright beautifully decorated classrooms.) It feels truly amazing knowing that you can trust someone with your kids and having that piece of mind that they are well fed, get fresh air, and are stimulated throughout the day with a variety of fun educational activities! read more

Updating/adding to my review from 2013 2017 Oh no! I just noticed a negative review on Ms. Rebecca. I had two sons attend her class in the last few years and we never had any issues. My younger son was in Ms Rebecca/Ms Asya's class last year. She helped get our sons' development and growth reach the next level and prepare well for kindergarten. She's passionate and pours a lot of effort and attention into the kids. If we had questions, we would talk to Ms Rebecca. To the poster with a negative experience, have you tried talking to her to understand what happened? -------------------------------- 2013 I second Viktoria's review. Our son started going to this location in March of 2013. He loves it and so do we! We transitioned our son from being at home with a nanny for 3 years (whom he loved and still loves) and figured he will have separation anxiety issues being away from home. To our pleasant surprise, on day one, we dropped him off and he never looked back. Here are pros of the facility and its care: -Size: big and very clean -Rooms: pleasant, clean and always decorated with kids' art projects -Field trips: plays, farms, botanical gardens (although our group hasn't gone to BG just yet) -Classes: circle time, reading, English, Russian and Spanish, arts & crafts -Additional (paid) classes we are enrolled in: Tae Kwon Do & Dance (being busy parents, since we don't have enough time in the day on weekdays to drive our little one to these, this is a perfect alternative, since this is all done during school time) -Plays: The kids put on "plays/performances" where they would have learned songs, dances and poems about 4 times a year. Fun for the kids and absolutely enjoyable for the parents. -Care: Our teachers Valentina and Yaroslava are caring and help our son develop all kinds of skills to prepare him for pre-K -Administration: Director, Oxana, is also caring, flexible and on top of things -Food/Naps: Food catered out of Allegro Deli. On Tuesday I went into the daycare to collect information about possibly enrolling my 9 month old in daycare. The building is beautiful. However, while I was talking with the manager I heard a worker SCREAM at a child. The owner could see my look of horror and tried to get the workers attention to get her to stop but it continued. To witness their employee treating a child that way was enough to send shivers down my spine and for me to walk right out of the door. I will NEVER send my child here due to that awful display of "care". read more

This is a bad place for children. My son kept coming back with finger bruises on his jaw several times. on reporting they would always say he got it from home. They taught his to say "Brother hit me" whereas my son calls his older brother "Bro-bro" or by name. One time he had blood in his mouth because he fell and cut his lips. This was when we went to pick him. the Teacher tells us he came from home hurt in the morning. that was just ridiculous. I agree kids can fall and hurt themselves, but accepting and reporting to us would have been the right approach, rather than saying he came hurt from home. how can he have fresh blood 5 pm in the evening when he goes to school at 8 am! Some of the teachers may be good, but most of them are very strict with little children. They treat a 2 year old like an 8 year old. There is no loving ways, its merely a care facility to keep kids till you are ready to pick! They also have a time-out chair in class rooms. I did not think much of it, until i researched other day cares and saw that in other day cares they use positive reinforcement instead of punishing kids. My son at 3 years was completely potty trained, but every single day he had accident at the Daycare. and never ever at home. He was scared to go there and every morning was a struggle. When he started having nightmares and crying and waking in the middle of the night, we removed him from the day care and by then i found him a much better place where is is so happy and looks forward to go everyday. I blame myself for not realizing this sooner and removing him immediately. Its hard for working parents to make sudden moves, but its not an excuse. I think I should have put my foot down the very first time he came with bruises and when he was having accidents everyday. I have seen reviews about teachers pinching the kids. Now i know where the bruises came from and why he was always so reluctant to go to that day care. This was my sons Day care last year when we moved to Buffalo Grove and i removed him earlier this year. read more

The day care building is beautiful inside and outside. Lunches are healthy and good prepared. However, please, be careful choosing this day care especially if your kid is shy. Not all of the teachers can manage kids' behavior. There is Ms. Markstrom that teaches kindergarten class, who is not capable to stop kids' aggression, your kid can continually be kicked, chocked, hit by different children. The teacher's reaction is very strange - "Do not worry! They are just kids!" Some daycare centers allow only a few warnings before considering expulsion. I completely agree with reviews by Anna G & Viktoria P. Just transferred my son to this daycare from another daycare last month (he's a toddler) and started my daughter at the same time (she's an infant). There was nothing wrong with the previous daycare we were using, but now that I have experienced Children's Land, I can see that it is a million times better. To start, prices are as affordable as daycare in the Chicago area can get and so many things are included here that are not always included in daycare costs (formula for your infant if your baby drinks formula, pureed foods, and all table foods from breakfast through afternoon snack for kids eating table foods). Each child has their own cubby in their classroom with a cute label on it along with space in a dresser drawer where their diapering supplies are kept. The teachers are all great - they are always happy when you drop off your kids and tell you how the kids' day went when you pick them up. Another nice thing about this daycare is that it goes all the way through kindergarten, so I am excited that they can stay in one place until they start first grade and don't have to switch between a million different programs with different schedules. Both of my kids have been at Children's Land for about a month and we couldn't be happier. read more

The center is very well maintained. Various activities (classes, field trips) are offered throughout the year. I was very impressed with the Christmas and Mother's Day shows. Costumes, presents, hairdo's were pleasant add-on's to the well organized and interesting performances. Well balanced and high-quality food options are available for my vegetarian daughter. We have been at this daycare since right after it opened in early 2013. I have recommended this center to two other families who have also been really pleased. Pros: clean facility with stimulating/educational/age appropriate toys, dance and music classes (included for tuition price), REAL food instead of typical school cafeteria food, lead teachers have less turnover than other facilities we've been at, strong educational foundation, emphasis on outside time and/or time in the gym when weather doesn't permit, reasonable price. Cons: they used to be more flexible with allowing you to bring in homemade food to the infant room but that is no longer allowed (they do provide formula and gerber purées for infants at no additional cost), teachers can be strict, however, my kids have always had at least one teacher in each class they have loved/given hugs to, etc. sometimes I worry there is a little bit too much classroom time in the preschool/pre-K classes and not enough free play. Lastly, the owner can be short/extremely strict with the teachers which can rub me the wrong way. But, we overall we have been very pleased here for close 5 years and I feel good knowing my kids are safe and happy and excited when we pull in to school most mornings (and to people wondering if we are the owners or related per the previous posters suggestion, we aren't!) read more

The amount of money we pay for our kids at this age should be taken to take care of them and teach them. And the facility in wheeling does that Job. We have to pay $20 out of our pockets for every trip, it is not included. Extra for the summer fun. I noticed over the period of time that you or your kid have to take a gift or something to the teacher on every big occasion/ show /festival, which is not good. The teachers behave very differently if you never gave them any gift, you can see that on their face. I have never expected that in my life. It is not wrong to give your teachers any gift but the expectation set is wrong. All teachers in that facility have the same expectation. This should be taken care of seriously. People are so rude that they don't even say hello, smile or thank you when you open the door. In the beginning even Ms Oxana, the owner was like with no smile, with time I saw a change. Food is good at this facility( mostly organic milk). Overall, you can keep your kid at this school until they go to KG. read more

My 2 year old son and 6 month old daughter used to go to this daycare last year. My son gets seizures due to a high fever - as I was told by our pediatrician - common thing for a little toddler boy. Anyway, he got a seizure in the daycare and they took him to the hospital. My wife received a call from a director Oksana screaming for a boy's medical records, she only informed my wife later that the boy is at the hospital!!! Such a selfish person - all she cares only about her own butt. Later we got a call from a daycare that they will not accept my son anymore because he is not "normal" and gets seizures but they will take my daughter - wow just wow. I told my pediatrician and he said it is illegal to refuse someone for such a thing and he was about to write a letter to this daycare, but i said its ok i don't want my children there. Another thing, every time i would come to pick up my son he always looked scared and sad, so today, after hearing a story about another location being sued for hitting children doesn't surprise me anymore...Please if you love your children do not take them here. read more

I found the individual responsible for enrollment very rude and unpleasant. I had dropped by to get a tour of the facility and was told no because I didn't make an appointment. I couldn't make an appointment because I wasn't aware I would get out of work early. Generally my schedule is crazy with picking up my daughter and dinner time and everything so I found that very unhelpful and she is not understanding at all. Furthermore, I asked if I could wait or come back in a while and she just said flat out no. She also gave my husband the wrong impression that there would be an opening in a month and a half and later she said MAYBE. We needed up doing all the paperwork and paying the registration fee. The only reason I would have considered this place is due to convenience of location otherwise I would never want to go here with the attitude they had. I am sure it is not representative of everyone at the location but as a parent you want to speak with someone who is going to be understanding, caring and who puts you at ease about leaving your child at a facility. read more
