This garden is LUCIOUS with greenery and BOOMING with life. It's so much greenery that it provides a bit of a shelter and capsule from the brutalistic concrete jungle. Sometimes it's just nice to be around life, even if it's not human you know? ESG isn't refined and doesn't hold pure beauty, there are alot of rustic edges which certainly adds to the charm. In fact to be some of those edges might actually be rust! There is a certain beauty to the old stone work and lack of consistency. There seems to be a constant but muted flow of folks coming and going, to have a quiet break or meet up with a singular friend, or enjoy a sip of coffee. Nobody really stays long which allows for many others to enjoy the garden. Whatever the reasons are for destroying this sanctuary of peace, it should be noted that enough people do care about it, and there are good enough reasons for it to stay. Affordable housing is important as well, but affordable and NYC do not necessarily go hand in hand. The real question is why is it important to take this little patch? There are certainly plenty of other plots to build affordable housing on. Build it elsewhere!

I went with a couple of friends of mine and we all had a lot of fun. The music was really great and the lights took you through the movie from beginning to end. The sculptures were also really cool and I was so happy to see my favorite characters. They incorporated the main movie characters including Jack, Sally, and my personal favorite Zero. They also had Oogie Boogie, and they also had Lock Shock and Barrel. But they also had many of the secondary characters including the clown with the tearaway face, and a few of the witches. It was as if I was walking through the movie and seeing some of the scenes in real-time. The best words that I could use to describe the experience are magical and immersive. I'm glad that I went and I know that we all had a great time.

Clinton Community Garden is a teaching garden and enables all to hone the importance of growing vegetables, plants and bloom flowers. There are benches for resting and lots of green. Very well maintained. Clinton Community Garden is a great example of a unification of a community and building bridges in working toward a common goal of a healthier environment and healthy living.

Children and residents in this neighborhood does have access 7 days a week (which is fantastic) to learn how to eat healthy, grow their own vegetables, and live a healthy lifestyle. What I like most about the garden is the opportunity for residents in this neighborhood to get out of their apartments, and have a special space to call their very own, whether it be vegetations or to plant beautiful flowers. I really appreciated that as it didn't become too crowded and you could fully take your time and look at every single flower. It was free which is rare in NYC. Their website says it is fully funded by grants and donations and operated by volunteers! They have other events and opportunities to volunteer in their website as well! It's a really beautiful garden and a nice break from the city. Snap a few pretty photos of the flowers and then put your phone away. Take the time to really be present and relax!!!

The West Side Community Garden is committed to providing a beautiful, peaceful, green space in which everybody can relax. It's funded by grants and run by volunteers. I was lucky enough to be up here for the Tulip Festival. The garden is lovely and so colorful. There were over 13000 tulips! It was absolutely gorgeous. Weekends are crowded but the festival is on until Mid-May. Check out their website for upcoming events. In the spring and summer they have concerts, opera, a Shakespeare festival, and other events.

I make ice cream with children whose parents I know by sight. I attend bi-monthly meetings and vote on what color to paint the gazebo (they chose this salmon color instead of Haystack Yellow--teaching me that democracy doesn't always work to the best advantage). Anyhow, it's always open on the weekends, and many evenings you can come in as well if a member is pottering about.
