This year they started a teacher-parent messaging system using an app, so I get to hear from the teachers how each day was about 15 minutes after I pick her up! They send pictures with it too. PPED is very accommodating; you can choose to bring your kids any combination of weekdays, not just a set MWF or TR schedule. They offer full-day childcare, and are always happy to keep my son all day on days when we have other commitments and need childcare. PPED offers preschool for 2-year-olds and they even help with potty training! Also, my son has a healthy snack and a full hot lunch before pickup, so he can come home and get his nap in on time. Aside from all the perks mentioned above, the staff here really love and care about the kids. Everyone always has a smile on their face, and they truly seem excited to see my son every morning. Kids can pick up on this pretty fast, and it doesn't take more than a second for him to have a big smile on his face and run right to one of his teachers. Leaving such a young child with someone else can certainly be stressful, but I feel great knowing that my child is being cared for by people who have earned my trust and really care about his well being. I would pick my son up and he would have boogers on his nose/face dried up and crusty. When I would give my child a bath at home after the day, he'd have dried up feces on his underwear due to them not wiping the kids after they use the restroom. The teachers in each class were young, inexperienced, and ignorant. Anytime I made a complaint about the care of my child (that I pay them for) they would gas light and manipulate things to make it my fault that they were not caring for my son properly. I also witnessed a couple of the teachers getting super impatient with the kids and sometimes toss them around and scream at them, it honestly broke my heart. The manager Mary was the worst part of it all. Instead of taking the responsibility for her own KinderCares failures, she decided to blame the kids! She would literally blame the 3-4 year olds themselves. Horrible daycare to attend.

To be honest I wasn't thrilled about the idea of a "commercialized" daycare. Melissa and all the staff/teachers are absolutely incredible. They made the transition easy. They even helped and accommodated as we transitioned our son from home purees to table food; from formula/BM to dairy milk/water. We saw so much growth and development in our lil guy after just a couple weeks. The app is great for communication and just seeing how our son's day is going/went. They are very diligent about children's health. Although it was hard, our son had to stay home a couple times because of sickness that had similar symptoms to Covid (but wasn't). I can appreciate the effort. I wouldn't want other kids to expose our son in the same situation. They followed up on his "sick days" just to check in on him. The ONLY reason we are leaving this center is because we're moving to Elgin. We've only been going to KCJH for about 5 months and will truly miss the team. They genuinely care about the children and families. On another note, our transition to an Elgin KC has been seamless as well. We look forward to the same caring staff up north. For all the new parents struggling decide to send your child(ren) to daycare in the OP area, send them to KCJH. You become a better parent because of the reduced stress/mental break and the child(ren) love it.

Being our first child, we were understandably apprehensive about daycare, but it didn't take long to see how caring each of his teachers were. Every classroom he's been in has been an excellent experience. The teachers are attentive and great at communication. Their Sproutabout app, which they use to send parents updates, is second to none, and being able to check in on the live cameras at any point gave us the transparency we needed to feel comfortable. Please don't think of this as your average daycare. The teachers who care for the kids are truly teaching our little guy so much. Every single day he comes home sharing what he's learned, sharing new experiences, arts and crafts and he genuinely enjoys being there. Lastly, I cannot speak highly enough of the facility leadership. They communicate so well with us, they're always cheerful, and they have strong bonds with the kids who attend. They handle challenging situations well. There's so much to speak highly of. Hats off to Tracy, Isabel and Dani for being such a great leadership team, building an amazing team of teachers and for fostering an incredible environment for the kids to thrive in.

After touring several local daycare centers, Kindercare of Frankfort stood out amongst the rest. The facility itself is clean, bright, and secure. There is abundant outdoor play space, with actual playground equipment and an open area to play sports, such as soccer. All classrooms are divided by age and are located on the same floor along a hallway that has windows into each room (except the baby room). My son went into the 2 year old room, which has cubbies for each child, plenty of sunlight, a large play area, and tables and mats for circle time and activities. Cots are provided for nap time. They have bathroom facilities in the room and will work toward potty training, but still change diapers for this age group. Healthy snacks and meals are provided, and I got a glimpse of the kitchen with an actual cook preparing the meals and snacks for the day. Very impressive! The clinic director, Lori, and assistant director, Hillary, were so patient and kind to me. They took several calls from both my husband and I, answering every question as we made our decision. They toured the facility with us twice and welcomed my son to come in the day before he started to get acquainted with his new surroundings. The two year old teachers, Miss Amy and Miss Ashley, were very welcoming, decorating his cubby, and sending home notes explaining how his day went. However, every time I have called to register my son I have been met with a teenager-esque attitude and a very short response- "UM yeah, you actually can't save your spot yet, call back next week, okay, bye!" When I call back a week later I'm met with "Yeahhhhh, sorry your spot is gone, we're on a waitlist now." When I expressed disappointment at being told to wait only for them to give the spot, instead of being given a decent human apology I'm asked "So do you want it or not?" I'm willing to be flexible when it comes to high quality care, but when I can't even get a polite response or a sense of empathy on the phone I definitely do not feel comfortable leaving my two year old son there. God only knows how far their patience goes with young children.

I totally understand that these reviews are very important for penny lanes business. This is why I took the time to write out the review. For parents seeking child care for their children and wanting to make the best decision. Actually, some of the things that you stated in your reply was very inaccurate such as my reason to leave the daycare. We left due to having so many incidents occur and the lack of incidents reports being made and also lack of accountability. Most of the time my daughter was sent home from daycare with cuts and bruises. Teachers were unable to explain what happened due to them "not being around" or "leaving early for the day" so she was left in the care of substitute teacher and no one in the daycare could find whichever "substitute teacher "was in the class in at the time to explain the constant injuries. Also, on August 11th I was called into penny lanes due to my child having a busted lip and chipped tooth. I expressed my concerns to the director of the daycare Ms.Laura she responded back to me and let me know if I wanted my child to not have so many incidents I needed a nanny. Which I was completely token back by. I understand things happen in a daycare but as a director for that to be the response back to a concern parent is very insensitive. Also, to double back to the abrupt departure. Laura allow us to leave without putting in the 2 week notice due to not us moving but me being so uncomfortable with my child being enrolled under you guys care second longer. Her last day was that Thursday morning November 6th due to another unreported incident. My daughter was enrolled in for a year. I have never once received a weekly paper meal plan in advance. My child was there 5 days a week and 8-8.5 hrs a day. So I understand that health and safety is the utmost importance but it's seems like the ball was dropped multiple times with my child. Also, is always a lack of accountability. This is not the blame game. If I'm paying for a good quality daycare I expect the best quality health and safety for my child. What I love most about this place is their staff, their level of care, patience, and attentiveness goes far beyond what we could have hoped for. Its rare to find a place that combines such high standards with genuine heart, but Penny lane (Oak Lawn) does exactly that. We are incredibly fortunate to have found them and would recommend them wholeheartedly to any parent looking for exceptional care. I currently, have 3 of my kids enrolled there. 2 of them in daycare and 1 in their before and after school care. We also leverage their summer camp program. We love Penny Lane, Oak Lawn!
