Teachers that really, really care and entire system, built around making kids accountable and helping them graduate. I've never seen any school do it better. O'D who has run the school the last 17 years will go down in history as one of the biggest influencers of children in the history of Tustin if he hasn't already. Because I graduated from the school and have become a success (business and family-and I'm not in jail lol) I speak and volunteer at the school once or twice a year and have for the last decade. I get to see behind the scenes, how much effort and energy these amazing teachers put in day after day to a lot of these troubled kids. And most of them graduate, it's pretty astounding. I went to this great school in 06/07(when it was behind Foothill HS) and enjoyed every minute of it…read morewhile Principal Hernandez was in charge.Principal O'Donahue took over in late 07 and ruined the school.He got rid of the good hot food we had and our Carl's Jr. chicken sandwiches.The new food options normally consisted of FROZEN chicken and old hamburgers leftovers from Foothill and the neighboring middle school.He not only was a very stubborn Principal,but he kicked me out for self defense and then when he found out I was 19 he threatened to get the Sheriffs involved since I was an adult.I told him about how I threw no punches due to the fact I was an adult(I knew the consequences) and the other kid not only hit me multiple times,but knocked out the security guard who tried to break up the fight.He knocked her out with one punch.The other guy got a suspension and I got kicked out.OD is a horrible Principle compared to Mr. Hernandez and ruined Hillview HS.I think OD used the fight as an opportunity to remove me from the school because I protested to that clown every chance I got about the bad food and poor quality in which it was served to the students. I also suspect that OD was behind the moving of the school to the new site at the Tustin Airbase.So not only did my favorite HS get demolished,but it was removed from a lovely hilly area with plenty of nice trees and scenery.Now it sits next to a bunch of homeless shelters and in the shadow of the hangers on the airbase.What better way to remind the students that we live in a Police State then to stare at those remnants of the military industrial complex everyday.OD is a puppet for the TUSD and Hernandez fought for students rights! EDIT I give the old Hillview 5 stars on Foothill BLVD...The new school on Landsdowne RD(should have its name changed to Hangerview) would receive one star!

She was academically challenged and extremely well prepared for high school. This school excels with small class sizes, passionate teachers, very responsive and thoughtful administration and a wide range of elective classes that are not found at other local private and public schools (i.e. choir, journalism, Spanish, music, home economics, school trips, sports, etc). My daughter attended both a local public TUSD school and another local parochial private school before we enrolled her here. Additionally, I did comprehensive site visits and interviews at 8 private school in the Tustin/Orange area and this school topped our list. We were very happy to be part of the Red Hill Lutheran school community.

We've been at Fairmont North Tustin campus for 3 years. All Irvine public schools have health rooms and health staff on campus. Stupid me -- I assumed that at the very least this so-called private school would have such a fundamental facility and staff. But no. Today I found out there's no health office and no sick room where a child can at least lie down for a while until a parent arrives. I'm in shock. What kind of risky, scammy school have I put my child into for the past 3 years? This campus just spent a lot of money on expansion and also raised tuition fees. It's ridiculous to find out that behind all those price increases and fancy upgrades, no one seems to care about students' health -- and none of that money appears to have gone toward improving health support for the kids. No health office. Not even one health staff member. Not even a sick room for students to rest. -- In response to your reply: Thank you for reminding me -- although your non-medical staff determined (since there is no health clerk or school nurse on campus) that "it's better to remain in an upright position in a chair, while ensuring attentive care and comfort," when I arrived, my pale six-year-old child was kneeling on the ground, coloring on a piece of paper and using a wooden bench next to the reception desk as a flat surface. There is no health clerk. The temporary reception teacher was busy with her own duties. I did not see any "assured attentive care and comfort." Instead, I observed teachers who appeared reluctant to be involved, likely because without a designated health staff member, temporarily caring for a sick child simply adds to their already full workload. Where is the "bed" or the "attentive care and comfort" you mentioned? All I saw was a small, cold wooden bench near the reception area, with people walking around. Considering the level of tuition families pay, our children deserve more than this. Three different staff members confirmed to me yesterday that there is no bed available for a sick student. Therefore, the only way I was able to learn that such an option supposedly exists was through a Yelp review. Reality is reality. Parents, please do your research before sending your child to a so-called private school: * Is there a health room or a designated sick resting area -- like those available in Orange County public schools? * Is there a school health clerk available on campus -- as in Orange County public schools? * Do teachers even know whether the so-called "bed for sick students" actually exists? Despite the amount of money families invest in a private school that lacks even fundamental health support, it is worth considering whether the absence of a basic health office or a health clerk could place students at greater risk in certain situations.

Our son was attending a large public high school when the COVID-19 pandemic started. This highly…read morerated public high school quickly transitioned to an online learning environment, but only provided one synchronous lecture per week for each class. As our son, and many of his classmates, fell further and further behind in their online classes, we repeatedly reached out to the school administration, including the principal, as did the parents of our son's school friends. However, the school's administration was uniformly unresponsive to our concerns. So, we decided to take our son out of the public school system, and place him in a private school. Our son transferred to Pacific Academy during his junior year of high school. I really can't say enough good things about our experience at Pacific Academy over the past almost two years. Everyone from the principal to the teachers and administrative staff have all been amazing. They are all very passionate about their mission to educate their students, as well as to help their students grow and develop into well-rounded young men and women. The small class sizes allow for a very personalized approach to teaching, and both the teachers and the principal are very interactive and collaborative with parents. The quality of teaching in all of our son's classes has been exceptional, and all of his teachers have welcomed engagement with us. (Unlike at the public high school our son previously attended.) I would especially like to recognize the principal at Pacific Academy, Keith Corpus, and the Director of Student Affairs, Jasmine Hsu. Their dedication, compassion, and empathy towards their students, and their families, has been extraordinary. They have both also been tremendously supportive as students, parents, and teachers have all worked together to manage the enormous (and ever-changing) impact of the pandemic. Honestly, we have come to view Mr. Corpus and Ms. Hsu as if they were part of our family, and we are so grateful to them for their dedication and commitment to their students, including our son. My only regret is that we did not transfer our son to Pacific Academy sooner. We love this school, and its faculty and staff, and we are so grateful that our son has been able to attend Pacific Academy!

I witnessed her grab another student by the arm and push him to the ground during a class field trip. I witnessed her publicly embarrass a student in front of his peers, telling him he doesn't listen. These were not secondhand accounts. These were direct observations. Additionally, when I brought a serious concern to administration regarding a student telling my son she "didn't like Black people," the issue was minimized rather than meaningfully addressed. That was deeply concerning. You may state that investigations were conducted and documentation exists, but my experience as a parent was that my concerns were not handled with transparency, accountability, or care. Instead of focusing on defending reputations, I would hope the school would focus on reflection and correction. You consistently teach Christ-like love and character. My experience did not reflect those values in practice. This was my lived experience. Dismissing it as a difference in "perspective" does not change what I saw or how it was handled. Introducing him to French at an early age from the mommy and moi program as a toddler to starting full time classes at Pre-K, he is code switching from English to French and singing songs he learns in class. We do not speak French in our household and this School gives my son French cultural and language experience. The faculty and staff have been very supportive and welcoming us to the school. I appreciate the faculty to student ratio. The teachers are very caring and nurturing. My son goes to school every morning with a smile.
