The School is incredible but the front desk receptionists have been rude on multiple occasions. Parents should not be shamed for their children being late on occasion, nor should we accept the receptionists/ gatekeepers subjective definition of our rationale for tardiness. My son was more than 30 minutes late due to multiple reasons and she would not excuse it. This was his first tardy! She said it would be marked as an inexcusable absence. Wow! Zero kindness or empathy for daily living. This was his first tardy of the year! She was so rude. What she doesn't know, is that my son has chronic allergies and is embarrassed about it, so I didn't mention that. Just rude. read more

I specifically came here to go to the skate park. Nothing makes me feel more alive than watching a skater. It definitely reminds me of the best time in my life. No I was not a skater but I did have a skate shop. The kid walked by and asked me what time it was I told him and I said hey what do you know about the spot. He said it's a skate spot. I said yeah I can see that. Do you like it ? It's gets pretty packed he told me yeah it's cool . In the morning old people come to skate . I said old people how old ? We absolutely love Heritage! My oldest son graduated last year and my youngest currently goes there. Every single one of their teachers have been outstanding! Both my boys were lucky enough to get Mrs. Tran in 3rd grade. She was teacher of the year in 2020 and it was well deserved. Loved how she kept the parents updated with pictures in Seesaw with all the fun hands on activities they were doing in class. Oh and my oldest had her when school shut down because of covid. She went above and beyond what was expected. We also love our new principal, Mrs. Smith. This is her 2nd year at our school and she has made it so fun for the kids. She never misses an opportunity to dress up and was totally cool with getting duck taped to walls and getting slimed to motivate students during our fundraisers! She brings her bunny, Coconut to school and students have opportunities to eat lunch with her and Coconut. She was also there to listen to me when I had a concern about my oldest and followed up a few days later to make sure everything was going ok. Heritage is so lucky to have her. Heritage is a sought after school. Some people move to the neighborhood just to be guaranteed a spot. The very few people who aren't happy with it should leave to make room for the long list of students who want to go there. read more

This school is horrible, my son and myself were being discriminated against because of our color and one of the staff members pushed him and when I went to the district they did nothing about it. I transferred him immediately and filed a police report. They can play with their mommas not me! read more

I absolutely love Heritage Elementary. I have had two children at Heritage with my youngest just finishing 5th grade this year. I cannot say enough great things. From the day the school opened they have been VERY focused on building the best experience for the kids in terms of education, growth and general well being. Ms. Smith, the Principal is absolutely a dream come true. Every Elementary school should have a Principal that is as caring and engaged as Ms. Smith. From Coconut the bunny to allowing kids to duct tape her to a wall and being slimed, she knows how to connect with the kids and earn the respect from the parents and community. In addition to the fun stuff, she is also a resolute leader and manages many different backgrounds and needs across many different ages and requirements. We are truly sad to be leaving Heritage. Our family has been a part of the Heritage community for over 5 years and we love this school!! We have had amazing experiences with each of our sons' teachers, including Pauley, Gause, Melcer, Bunge, Lee, Haagen, and Valdovinos. They are dedicated, kind, and respectful. They go above and beyond in creating a welcoming and safe place for their students. The current principal, Mrs. Courtney Smith, has exceeded all expectations, is adored by the students, and makes a wonderful and fun learning environment. I have worked closely with the front office staff, Debbie and Shannon, for many years and they are helpful and on top of it! They have so much to juggle at all times and they have always showed me respect and kindness. There are rules and guidelines in place to keep the students and staff safe, and as I parent I am more than appreciative of those. I know some parents won't see past why these are in place, but I am grateful they keep order and safety a top priority. My son had an IEP for speech during his preschool, kinder, and 1st grade year, and we had a great experience with his speech teachers. They catered to his needs and kept me in the loop on his progress. He was able to progress quickly and graduated at the end of first grade. Being a Heritage Aviator has been an integral part in our children's education and in raising them to be helpful, kind, and respectful people. We love Heritage Elementary School! All of the staff members we've worked with have been very kind and helpful, and our teachers have seriously been the BEST! I feel like they really care about their students and push them to expand their thought process and love of learning. Aside from the awesome staff, I totally love their approach to teaching the kids. Project based learning has been an incredible experience for the kids. Here's an example: One year my son's class was learning about different climates and environments or something like that and it happened to coincide with the horrible fires going on in Australia at the time. The kids in the class decided they wanted to raise money to help rescue the Koalas, and with their teacher's guidance, those kids helped raise I think just under two thousand dollars within a super short window. My son was so inspired by this project that he even made a little stand outside our house selling candy to raise money to go toward this campaign. This is the type of learning environment Heritage is all about. I never want to leave! Haha. I can't recommend it enough! read more

I am appalled and the lack of care that they have for the students. They have zero regard for the students and their needs. Parents have no say and the children are not treated properly. This starts at the head by the sorry excuse of a principal Ms. Smith. She has zero interest in the children and their needs. She is unprofessional and rude. She does not follow protocol even in IEPs that are legal binding agreements. Dont walk, run away from this school and the disaster that it is. Your children will not thrive, they will get lost in the cracks. They dont even check who is picking up your kids. read more

I love Heritage and often say that I wish the elementary school I attended as a child was this good! The staff, the Principal, front office, are ALL stellar. My child has been in attendance here since 2021 and this year is her 2nd enrollment year. She has progressed tenfold since being here. The parents I have met are all supportive of one another and it's a true community feel. I never have once felt concerned with leaving my child here to get her education. My partner and I moved here solely for the school district and it's the best decision we could have made for our child. We are so lucky! I cannot say enough good things about Heritage, the principal Mrs. Smith, and the teachers and staff. They are all AMAZING! As someone mentioned in a previous post, there are plenty of parents who are eager to send their children to Heritage - and for good reason! Mrs. Tran is a joy. She is completely in tune with the needs and gifts of her students and does a wonderful job of communicating with parents regularly and empathetically. My child used to meet regularly with Ms. Heather and it is very clear that she truly cares about her students and wants what is best for them and their families. I could go on and on and speak to how talented, capable, and loving the rest of the teachers and staff are but I'm not sure that Yelp will allow me enough space. I love the diversity at Heritage, which is very aptly named because there are families from many races, cultures, and backgrounds. This diversity is not only welcomed, but celebrated throughout the year. The administrators, staff, teachers, parents, and students really do have a collaborative dynamic, and they all work together to make Heritage a wonderful place for your child. read more

I'm really disappointed in my experience with this school thus far. For the past 2 months I have been trying to get an answer to a few questions regarding standardized testing results, school rating, etc since it's a new school. I have attempted 5 times to get this info, the first of which was in person. The staff keeps telling me they will call me back and never do. I finally asked to meet with the principal and she will not meet with me so my questions remain unanswered. I just feel like a school should be more helpful. I can't help but feel concerned for the students there since dealing with the staff and even principal has been so challenging. They seem so unconcerned and bothered even by my attempts to get my questions answered. I will be looking at different options for schools. read more
