We cannot say enough wonderful things about Happy Hands Prep, LLC. David started in the toddler…read moreprogram when he was just 1 year and 9 months old, and yesterday he proudly graduated preschool. Over the years, we have watched him grow academically, socially, and emotionally thanks to the dedication, patience, and support of the amazing teachers and staff. They have provided a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment where he developed a love of learning, built confidence, and created lasting friendships. We are incredibly grateful for the care and guidance David received throughout his early childhood years. Thank you to everyone at Happy Hands Prep for helping shape these important milestones and for giving him such a strong foundation as he begins his next chapter. A special thank you to Mrs. Keri and Mrs. Lori for their guidance, encouragement, and dedication throughout David's journey. Your kindness and commitment helped make his preschool years so meaningful. We highly recommend Happy Hands Prep to any family looking for exceptional childcare and early education.

The teachers are so sweet and comforting and now she is totally out of her shell. My daughter found it comforting to play with one of the teacher's necklaces when she was having a moment. The teacher made her one that looked just like it and a year later it is still her favorite. They treat all of the kids like they are their own. In addition, she has learned SO much I keep joking around that she will be bored in kindergarten. They do individualize knowledge assessments and lesson plans. The staff are great with communicating to parents throughout the day. The security of the building and the process for drop off/pick up leaves me never worrying about her safety. Very excited my youngest will start this fall!

My child went to kinder care and I WOULD NOT recommend sending your kids there. One of my friends…read morewho is a teacher at another kinder care told me about the kinder care in Cheshire, since it was closer to my job. However that place has gone down hill and The teachers are so rude! They have an extremely high turn around rate where all the teachers leave in waves. So it's very unstable for children there. Nicole Lockwood the assistant director is extremely immature. I have come in to drop off or pick my kid up and have personally heard her talking badly about HER co workers. I have talked to the director Kristin about this. And STILL nothing has changed. Kristin just sits in her office and doesn't help where it is needed. I have come in to kids screaming and no one attending to them. The toddler teacher Lauren is always standing with her back faced towards kids, I have seen her using her phone. I know A LOT of parents that I have talked to have complained about Lauren and yet she is still allowed to be left alone Not supervising the children. I had one of my kids in toddlers for a while and she doesn't do any activities with them. I went in that room for a month and nothing was added or changed on the walls. WE pay for curriculum and early learning and I have yet to see that. That place is not somewhere I would ever want my kids again. There is absolutely no structure and the assistant director is rude and the director does absolutely nothing about it! Not to mention my friend went over to the Cheshire kinder care to help them out where they were short staffed and they were out of ratio, they weren't allowed bathroom breaks and the teachers were rude to her. She said she would never go back there even just to help the center out! Do NOT send your kids here. And DO NOT ever apply to work there, you are wasting your time.

My daughter brought her 2 boys to this daycare center and under unfortunate situation my husband…read moreand I had to bring them their to this daycare. The owner seemed to be to invested in the lives of my grandchildren's parents. The reason why I say this is, because she would always ask questions about them and as a professional daycare owner, she should be reframing herself from those type of questions, because it's irrelevant. So, long story short the owner is upset, because my 1 1/2 year old was coming home literally with black eyes with a scratch like scar in the middle of the bruise like 1 week apart from each other. The first week it was the right eye and then I asked her what happened and her response was " I spoke to your husband already". Then she decided to respond to my question with he fell! and hit his eye with a toy and that accidence happen". Then the next following week the same exact bruise appeared on his left eye and her response was "he tripped over the rug". So, I then express my concerns to the DCF worker and she then calls me being very confrontational and stating that she is terminating the contract, because she said, that I complained about my grandchildren not being safe in her home, mind you she already got paid C4K for the two boys. I should add the pictures I took of my grandsons eyes just a week apart from each other, but I won't. The daycare provider for one needs to hire more workers to help out with the children in order to avoid them from getting hurt. She also needs to be more professional when dealing with the parents. Secondly, I never ever dealt with a daycare facility, that would say no to the parents better yet a DCF worker, that it's not okay to pick up there child when she receives, that phone call like really, that's just very bizarre and unprofessional. At the end of the day I am so glad, that the children are no longer under her care. I was always against home daycare and I was proven right. I can go on and on, but I said what I needed to say. I would like for everyone to really look into the places, that you choose to bring your children to, because your children are under there care for at least 8 hours a day, and because our children's safety should be our #1 main priority. Pay attention to your gut if it feels wrong then it's wrong.

BUT, YMCA is the gym facing to family, almost EVERY TIME you can meet HORRIBLE NOISE persons, they come for talking, not for exercise, they are keeping talking mixing with horrible laughing all the time, they are doing just like at their own house, is not in public place, without any care about any others. You still can hear their horrible noise even you are using headphone. What a wonderful home education they got, as noise as 500 sparrows around you.

Taken from their website, "To ensure safety and comfort for all, we ask members to always act…read moreappropriately during training. Any inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated..." The Southington branch of the YMCA violated their very own oath from a trainer (NR) to the Health and Wellness Director (JM) and up to the Branch Executive Director (JJ). As a longtime member of the Southington branch of the YMCA I am both saddened and disgusted. I had participated in their Strength Training class for several years but have been increasingly disappointed with NR mostly because she treats this class as HER time to engage in personal conversation with her friends in the class. Also, I noticed that she would often ignore me and send me clear across the weight room away from her group of friends. Then, a new member (EB) joined this class and eventually EB succeeded in not only ostracizing me even further from the group but began to bully me. The bullying included yelling at me, becoming argumentative and confrontational, treating the weight room as if it belonged to her and not me but most of all she succeeded in turning the other class members against me. I took my concerns to NR on three separate occasions to no avail. So, I then went to the Health and Wellness Director (JM). Previously, I had several positive encounters with JM (she always had a sympathetic ear) as I've been navigating a broken back due to cancer as well as dealing with my daughter's cancer diagnosis. Then... NOTHING. I firmly believe that NR gave her a pack of lies. So, I took my concerns to the Branch Executive Directo (JJ). Then... NOTHING. Again, I believe there were more lies from NR. I now belong to Big Sky and can't believe I didn't move sooner! Big Sky is everything the YMCA Southing branch is NOT! The facility is clean and pristine with a massive amount of equipment and staffed with amazing and professional people. The members are courteous, respectful, helpful and quietly go about exercising. The trainers never talk about their kids, vacations etc. like NR did in every single class. I spoke to the trainers about my horrifying experience with NR and the trainers all said the same thing - that NR acted extremely unprofessional and likely felt intimidated and threatened by me because I'm a serious weight lifter. If you read to the end I thank you!
