The charsiu banhmi was proper: crunchy baguette, zingy filling, hoisin sauce and cilantro. This dig showed promises. So yesterday I had a proper sit-down affair. The crispy duck was true to its crispiness and delicious if a bit heavy on the ginger. The wonton soup and the seafood in satay sauce (a rather unusual combination) checked out okay. The seafood tasted freshly prepared, still had a good snap to it, not drenched in sauce for hours on end. It would be even better with less ginger and bamboo shoots, but I'm nitpicking. It was a good deal, 2-course meal for 200 kr. It's not a pure Vietnamese per se. It's a pan-Asian restaurant with a rather generic menu. Normally that is a death sentence, but this is an exception because they cook everything better than standard Asian restaurants of Oslo. Apart from the lack of heat (can be fixed by a dollop of Sriracha), the spices are quite alright, and it's officially added to my honorable list of "great cheap eats".

First of all this place is centrally located near national theatre. Lots of foreigners eat here so it seems like a touristic place. And it feels like that as well.
